I have this box set. Due to my aunt's recent passing, i was able to have some of her stuff. One of the things i got was this box set. It's really special to me to be able to have some of the things that made her happy during her lifetime
My grandmother bought this for me as a Christmas gift when it first came out. She had no idea I was at war with this band as a Megadeth disciple. Hahaha. Love it now, of course.
For Christmas in 93 I too was 15 and my Grandfather (RIP) bought the box set for me also! I too watched the shite out of it - still have it, the box has seen better days mind, but my copy still exists!
They were (to my knowledge) that only band that did stuff like this back in the day. It was a thing of legend between us young'uns because it was so unaffordable but was beyond a cool idea. And they've kept that shit up the whole time. Mad respect for them.
I bought the original Metallica Binge and Purge Box Set way back in 1994. I loved it back then and I still love it to this day. I even spray painted the Scary Guy on the back of my black Leather Biker Jacket using the stencil that came with the set. I periodically pop the CD’s in and I even watch the live content on VHS. I love music box sets and I’m looking forward to the Black Album Box.
I remember 12yo me standing in line at best buy on release day snagging this and the matching shirt. The shirt I wore regularly through high school. Thanks for bringing back memories.

I was like playing onstage with them. Awesome memories.

It was only a dollar. Yea it was missing a cd and the sticker and it wasn’t in perfect condition, but for a flipping dollar. HELL YEA.
Still have mine. Bought it at the end of 1993. It is still one of the most best live releases in my opinion. Few years ago bought a second one. Two flightcase next to each other haha
I hope they pack one of the Mexico shows as vinyl in the big Black Album box, like Seattle 89 in the Justice box. Or even better, Milton Keynes 93 which is such an awesome show.

the only thing that i was disapointed by was the lack of faster songs there was no FIGHT FIRE or DAMAGE INC or DYERS EVE no RIDE THE LIGHTNING no HIT THE LIGHTS and then 20 years later metallica released the other live in mexico boxset and that was worth buying the tracklist blew LIVE SHIT out of the water

Christmas of 1993.. i was also 15 and all i cared about getting was this box set... we went on vacation the next summer and our dog destroyed the entire box set except for 1 vhs tape and the cds...the pain was real.
Worked in music retail when this came out. We had a stack of 40 of them behind the counter waiting to be picked up by customers. Of course I got one too.

Best live footage of them when they were great. Miss Jason. And the sound quality isn’t the best, wish they would remaster this. But hands down best live shows captured on video.

My brother gave me his entire cd collection, the only thing he kept was the box set. But I found one at a record show for $30. All is good now🤘

If the teeth are black, they usually hold up. It's when they changed the teeth to clear that they broke off easy.
