i have that charger too.....my dad got a box of these at goodwill and was about to trash the whole thing and i took em lol i want to post them up soon as a lot.
I had every American AFX racing set with box from 1977 to 1988. Went to the Army, came back after my service and my mother had thrown every set in the garbage. Said she was doing some spring cleaning in the attic. Way to go!!!
I can relate. I had amassed a huge Playboy collection. Funny, the collection started with boxes removed from an attic ( late 1950's, mostly 60's). So I started gathering issues from the 60's, 70's and 80's. Anyway, when Playmates would come to the base I would have the models autograph their issues, including Pet of the Year. I was in the Marine Corps at the time so I sent the collection to my mothers house. Came home later to discover that her boyfriend had opened the boxes and my collection was scattered all over the house including the garage. He had even removed some of the centerfolds. Good thing I had come home for his funeral or I would have ended up in jail.
Ahhhhh, slot cars. We had our slot car set. I remember a baby blue vette and 30’s Ford. Cleaning the brushes for better contact. The crank chicken interested me too. Thanks 🤩
Thanks Bruce!!! Although the AFX was faster, it lost a little of the excitement of drifting around the curves, putting the rear bumper against the guard rails....
I had an Aurora slot car set. My Mustang was a yellow convertible. I also remember a BRG Jag XKE coupe. I played with it quite a bit. Don't know whatever happened to it. Probably my parents quietly got rid of it years later.
For some of us it's not nostalgia. Got my first Aurora set in 1962 and have been racing ever since. Three generations get together for race nights in the winter months. The fun never stops.

i just got a bunch of these tjets and a couple are mostly metal but i have one thats cool i love its an el camino with 2 surf boards on top! so cool

Yes, they were offered for sale at the swap meet in March of this year.
Prices seem a little high for certain ones....and other ones are right on target. For the overpriced ones - maybe they were absolute mint...
