The LTZ model is the top of the line trim with a price tag north of $61k. Under the hood is a direct injected 5.3 liter V-8 engine that makes 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft. of torque. This large SUV gets 16 MPG in the city and 23 MPG on the highway thanks to cylinder deactivation.

Beautiful SUV
Explorer is an unibody vehicle not a body on frame vehicle! Tahoe is a real traditional SUV! That means able to go offroad and through snow much better then a CUV like the Ford Explorer! Not the same class - car vs. truck chassis!

What happened to 0-60s and mpg reports?
+ExactlyPrecisely I'll continue to do fuel efficiency testing in the MPG channel, when time allows. I'll shoot 0-60s once I secure a safe place to do it. There were two fatal accidents here recently, due to deer collisions. It's not worth dying for.

These center consoles are getting so huge that even large vehicles like this one, seem like they're lacking front leg room to move around.
+pedrof830 not at all im 6'3 and we get these in at the shop all the time there is no problem i actually have to keep the seat up a bit (so im not all the way back) other wise i have a hard time reaching the peddles... total BS unless you're 6'10 or 7'2 you will be perfectly fine both in width and length... plus all this in a package that competes more with a navigator in terms of materiel quality, build quality, and comfort than a ford explorer / expedition both of which are cheap and out dated in design and interior.

+huskerfaninNJ large, high seating position, 4X4 (Not AWD but actual 4X4), comfortable, stylish (in the eye of beholder I guess, each their own), towing capabilities, interior space, safety, felling of security when inside vehicle, piece of mind with the 4X4, more rugged than a crossover. I personally just like the look of big SUV's, the size, the boxy look, the 4X4, I like how it is solid rear axle, I don't like crossovers, the high seating position I like very much, and they are not as hard to maneuver as you might think. Being a small and short person myself, I fell very secure in these vehicles, (2009 Escalade)

Better looking SUV and truck like ride! Plus, it full size truck chassis! That means full offroad capabilities in AWD and heavy hauling capabilities!
