Beautiful talk! Thank you all and God bless you and this ministry! I second Melody in saying the answer will ALWAYS be let's take it to the Holy Spirit. Take it to Jesus! John 16:12-14 "I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come".
This was an interesting conversation and I truly respect their pov. I’m a gay ex Muslim and after I left Islam because of its hatred for homosexuality I contemplated converting to Christianity but I realised that I would have to do, what these young people are doing in the video, which is to reframe the Christian doctrine that condemns homosexuality. I choose not to be apart of any ideology that deems my sexuality a problem. My sexuality is, after all, natural. Rather than trying to fit into a doctrine that condemns us why don’t those of us who want to be apart of a religion directly reform instead of beating around the bush? Anyway, I wish you all the best in this journey and like I said I respect you all for doing what you are doing 😊
This podcast is SUCH blessing! Thank you! I have wanted to start a podcast like this and you have given me even more couraaaage! You bettaaa weeerrrrkkk huntiesss ❤️❤️❤️❤️
what comes to mind and I hope I have the where-with-all to remember this if I'm ever confronted by a "loving" christian that insists I'm not saved. I will stare them in the eyes and say- "Do you feel strong enough to stand between and the one who gave his life for me. Do you feel pure enough to stand between me and my savior."
Everything fine as long as you dont life in celibacy for false morals on the topic gay. I wish you that you find a loving same -sex partner , maybe marry and raise kids in responsibility.
Most American men do suck, but that in no way explains being gay. Especially considering that half of gay people are men who love men, like me, also a gay christian 👋
"if you love Me, you will obey my commandments" john 14:15. Anyone living the lifesyyof homosexuality cannot call themselves a Christian. This is impossible. However they can repent from that lifestyle and become Christians if they chose. Christians are followers of Christ, not just people who pick and choose what they want to follow. Im not saying im better but these are the facts.
How is that impossible? You literally just picked a verse that is taken out of context to justify your claim that queer people cannot be both faithful and embrace their queerness. It also seems that you confuse behavior with the state of being, which somehow renders your claim erroneous and stereotypical. There are different kinds of queer Christians (some hold to affirming theology while embracing celibacy and a traditional sexual ethic), and I feel like you are trying to fit a collective experience into how you see them rather than how they actually approach their faith and the scripture.
I'm not gonna be rude and proclaim that this women doesn't know Jesus or that Jesus doesn't exist (which he clearly doesn't, even if he did exist at one point in time), however I will say that everything she said about conversing with Jesus sounds like her just stopping and thinking about various things in her life and having that calm her and help her think clearly about various issues so that she can better understand them and herself. And that's of course a very helpful thing to do, but I just find it weird that she can't just explain it as that. Why she instead feels the need to claim that all of that is a conversation with someone that doesn't seem to exist anymore. Like imagine if I claimed that every time I stopped and thought about my life, I was actually conversing with George Washington. Everyone would obviously tell me that George Washington died in 1799 and it's 2024, so I clearly couldn't be conversing with him in the same way that I converse with people alive today. And sure, I could perhaps claim that I've encountered George's ghost and conversed with that, but ghosts have never been proven to actually exist, so for all intents and purposes I might as well be claiming to speak to a brick wall at that point. Idk, I just don't understand why people can't just be honest and acknowledge that they're really just thinking to themselves and not conversing with anyone. Unless their mind has become so deluded that it actually hallucinates someone talking to them, in which case that's a whole different kind of issue.
Honestly, to me it's easy to tell if someone has schizo affective problems. It's also easy to tell if a person talks in a sane way. If a person relates to you that their friend said something to them, you wouldn't believe they were having hallucinations or mentally disordered. But currently, you don't seem to believe that spirits exist- do you realize that you think inside your head without sound? Consciousness isn't physical. You may not have spiritual relationships where you communicate with God or other spirits, and so you think someone is deluded. But if they are speaking sanely at all times except for that they hear a spirit, that's pretty good proof they aren't making things up and also aren't schizophrenic with word salad behaviors that are unintelligible. It's your choice if you to believe in spirits, but you can't tell someone else that they are just talking to themselves. I mean you can tell them but they doesn't prove they are.
@@jwb52z9 If I think what way? I'm looking at this in the only way that makes any sense to me. I genuinely don't understand what's wrong with saying that you sometimes stop and reflect on things in life to help get a better understanding of yourself or life or whatever. I don't understand why that needs to be framed as talking to Jesus, unless Jesus is supposed to be another way of referring to talking to yourself. Framing it as talking to Jesus makes it sound like there's an actual entity other than yourself that you talk to, and no one who's claimed to talk to Jesus has ever been able to demonstrate this, so what exactly is wrong with what I'm saying? Your question can basically be summed up as "You shouldn't be watching this if you think rationally. You should just accept whatever someone says, regardless of how rational or irrational it sounds." I am wholly uninterested in speaking to people that don't care about rationality, so if that's your argument, we can be done here.
@@watsmynameyo Yeah, the burden of proof most definitely isn't on me. It's on the person claiming to be speaking with someone else. No one that's claimed to be able to speak with Jesus has ever been able to demonstrate Jesus' current existence, so there is simply no rational justification to accept that claim as true. If I told you I was having conversations with George Washington, would you believe me just because you couldn't prove me wrong? That's not how this works. Unless the person making the claim can demonstrate it to be true, there is no reason to accept it as such. The only argument you could possibly make is that I can't assert with absolute certainty that it's not true, but that's a silly argument to make, as we can assert next to nothing with absolute certainty. All I can say is that to the extent that I can know anything with a high degree of confidence, people that claim to speak to Jesus seem to just be doing things like meditating or having conversations with themselves. To put it another way, why exactly should I accept Melody's claim that she is able to converse with Jesus? What explanatory power would that have that isn't provided with the alternative explanation that I've provided? I can't think of anything, which is yet another reason to not put any stock into her claim. Does that make sense?
I pray she can have a real encounter with Jesus because I don't see the point of you saying that you have a relationship with Him but you don't obey and do what he says so the question is: are you really loving Him? It seems that you are missing the part that we as human beings have a sinful nature and only when we repent of our sins and turn away from them and by faith we follow Jesus then we can truly have a relationship with Him. It is not just mere feelings, there is commitment, discipline and a choice that needs to be made if you want to follow Him or continue in the lifestyle you are currently living. I hope I don't come across as radical but the Word of God is very clear on that is right or wrong and only God can change us if we allow him to.
God does not change nor His Word so the whole Scripture is applicable today and if you believe some things but ignore others, you're deceiving yourself. God wants everyone to repent and only when we do that, He can make a total transformation in our lives regardless the struggles and battles we have faced in life.

That's not necessarily true tho. Many people are born many different ways, with different tendencies, but that doesn't make it "natural" or okay.

Funny, I've seen plenty of Christians pick and choose different Bible verses to adhere too while completely ignoring others.
