Rabid Summer is not the only BBC drama about the nightmare scenario of a Rabies outbreak, the 1980s TV serial THE MAD DEATH was a convincing depiction of The Dogpocalypse, too... James Follett's Rabid Summer is a tamer take on the idea, but nonetheless alarming...

James Follet tends to be sneered at by literary types . " A writer of thrillers "..?
And definitely not a contender for The Booker Prize. But his plotting / dialogue
and characters combined with an effortless writing style are of the highest
quality . His research is meticulous too. I would compare him to John Wyndham
in his ability to show the impact of extraordinary events upon " ordinary "
people ? Needless to say I would rather read one of his thrillers than any of
the current ( or past ! ) Booker nominations.! PS.....Your selection of offerings
here is quite outstanding.!! Many thanks ..
