I have him preordered on Amazon but if I found him in stores I would cancel that him and inferno are the only new BW figures I need to complete the main cast he looks so good
I absolutely love this figure. I'd like to point out that the weapon is also a completely new mold and is larger than that of Blackarachnia's. Also, the abdomen assembly on my figure works well. Sure, I have to fiddle and wiggle the bot legs in it, but they do peg appropriately. My only issue with the fig is the bug leg. Because of its shape, when one gets rotated in a weird angle, the ball joint simply just pops off. It's not loose in any way and can even hold my figure in bug mode, it just pops off when the angle is off.
I just wish his legs were painted. The molding is there to match the beast mode butt but the molding gets kinda lost when they didn't actually paint it in. I actually could have done without the Transmetal weapon since he never used that in his season one body if it meant more of a budget to more accurately paint all his details in. I do think some of the engineering was carried over from Blackarachnia but that's not really a bad thing. They were originally based on the same toy so I don't think it's even possible to do them without sharing some similar engineering. What's really impressive though is I was expecting them to share some parts mainly the robot mode arms and maybe the legs but despite the similar engineering it doesn't look like any parts were reused. Everything is brand new molding. Even the parts I think could have been cheaped out on have been completly redone. So excillent work on the new mold for this guy, just wish the paint job was a little bit better.
I thought the tarantula beast head is suppose to form his waist/crotch area. You even see all the spider eyes there. Shame they had to resort to a faux piece for it. They just had to make the spider head a separate piece on a rail to it can extend out and then fold down to give clearance for his chest and head in robot mode.
I have this figure too, I think you just got a bad copy. On mine the legs of the spider are easily strong enough to hold it up. Additionally, although a little awkward, by trying to plug the abdomen in, I found if you approach it from the right angle and fiddle with it a bit you can have success.
Really liking his bug mode, looks amazing in person havent actually seen images of his alt mode till now, was ready to pass on it bc i thought it was a BA remould im glad to see thats not the case at all(especially considering my BA was defective and one of her legs cracked first time i transformed it, very dissapointing 😰 )
Ooo oh man, gonna have a trouble looking at this thing transforming from and to spider mode. The eyes pop out too realistically and the spider mode is actually flat unlike Blackarachnia. I can put small googly eyes to block the 8 eyes I guess.
Only if we get a Depth Charge to counter him. Here’s to hoping we get a Beast Wars version of 2010 Terradive out of DC and Shokaract out of Legacy Rampage!
Does it bug anyone else that the robot with a male spider alt mode is presented as smaller than the female spider? I know accuracy and transformers don't always get along, just would like for fembots to not always be presented as smaller than their male counterparts because it's "more feminine".
Well Tarantulas is a Tarantula. Way bigger than a Black Widow. Plus, these are robots so what is in nature isn’t always gonna be represented. Example: Inferno had a female any mode.
Something I noticed with the season 1 predacons; some are expys of the og decipticons from the first two seasons of g1. Terrorsaur is Starscream, but dumber. Scorponok is soundwave, but less cool. And tarantulas is shockwave, but creepier
I don't really see it. Terrorsaur never made a serious play for power like Starscream did several times. Scorponok is only like Soundwave in that he can deploy a minion. Shockwave was always pretty creepy.
Video idea: Comparing how Kamen Rider and Transformers iterate and reference their origins. Like how Transformers is just straight-up stuck in the past, constantly just spitting out G1 iteration after G1 iteration. And while Rider sure has a lot of grasshoppers with mufflers, you can tell Number 1 from Zero-One, but even when it comes to the rounded belts with a circle in the middle that spins like a fan (up until the Desire Driver Magnum Booster's center referencing it now), one call still tell the riders and the belt parts, even with the clear homages.

I’m looking forward to this! Mighty have to get some string just to hang him up so he’s even creepier

I kinda like the way the spider legs are positioned in robot mode. It looks kind of like he's doing a threat posture.
One thing i'd like to point out is that they made the eyes "realistic" compared to the show. Where he had 9 eyes aranged in a triangle shape.
Toon Terrorsaur should have been in Legacy and Toy Terrorsaur should have been the Amazon exclusive.
This but in Fox Kids Transmetal/“Primeval Dawn” colors = 👌
The little arms in front of the mouth of a spider are called pedipalps pronounced Pedi (pedicure) palps (palpitation)
Looks great i might have to pick him up. I hope they do Quickstrike sometime too, was one of my first transformers but i have no clue where he went.
Well if hasbro were to a legacy BW Quickstrike then he would be a new mold
@@Dualbladedscorpion7737 Of course I didnt mean to imply he'd somehow be a retool of Tarantulas. More arachnid/insect predacons is just a good thing.

Great review! Can’t wait for my preorder to arrive! Just Inferno left.
Hoping the upcoming Legacy Inferno is solid too. Still, great review of Tarantulas
Some black liquid rubber sprayed on the tips of his spider legs would provide the grip they need.
I might try that
With the backpack it’s technically show accurate

Last weekend I got him alongside 86 Arcee. No regrets.

I can't wait to get this and Inferno to complete the season 1 cast!
God damn it, Amazon, put him on available already!
he is a cool figure and i would love to add him to my predacons :3
Cant wait till he comes in stock on Amazon. Need to complete that season one Preds
Yeah I can’t wait to find this guy.
I had to get mine from pulse because I couldn’t find him in store, but he’s great
I'm praying they do a Beast Wars Rampage in this line. 😔🙏

You lucky sonuva… I’m still seeking him out.

A must buy figure for me

wait wait wait wait
THIS THING'S OUT?!
yep and he is amazing imo.if you find him and can afford him at that moment do not hesitate
Hesitation won't stop me, it's finding that will

8 legs of fun
Happy to get him, but the beast mode face looks a lot like that terrible Scorpinok figure in kingdom

I want INFERNO!
im upset i cant get terrorsaur
Only minor thing I would say about it, is that I am bit sad it did not get the shoulder armor of OG Tarantulas.
Wonder if they ever make Rampage...
Takara doesn't like beast wars metals so no. Tm2 megas was probably a fluke
@@diegodankquixote-wry3242 A shame, with Transmutate, Rampage would been fun addition.
