If it continued to build up with each flare and cme blast the planet would explode. The energy is released through volcanic eruptions and earthquakes...they are earth's safety valve.

1 thing the core is a giant ball of metal yes, why wouldn't that be effected by the cme they are primarily electronic and magnetic charges and plasma yes? When I was working with magnets for a power system we used a ball floating in a material which was affected by the radio and electro waves we projected at it, I've always wondered if that scaled up to the globe, and there are dozens of papers linking cmes and earthquakes.
