Love the casual “I love what Oldman did in Coppola’s movie” like Coppola isn’t his literal Uncle 😂
Yeah if only Cage wasn't such a pretentious douchebag 😁 and that black dye job on his hair is ridiculous, serious "Steven Seagal goes to Russia" vibe
Yeah, but does he sound more pretentious or less pretentious if he says "my uncle's movie?"
@@jasontodd9 Super fair lol in my opinion he didn’t have to say “in Coppola’s movie” at all which is why it felt like a sneak flex to begin with
@@Mark_Caddenwhy would he flex with the relationship if he changed his name specifically to hide it? You're making no sense
@@JonnyBoy021 plus his own actual last name.
It's lovely to hear him still so passionate about his craft after all these years.
It's what makes him so controversial. Colbert's first question is about that
Yeah, not one that does it for an award. I like his choices of movies
You can really tell that this is his world and he's really soaked it up - all the history and novelty.
Nic Cage is like a cool uncle who did lots of weird stuff in his 20's and 30's and now sits around telling you cool life stories .
This really is the perfect description of him.
You nailed it!
For all his accolades one of the most underrated "thespians" in Hollyweird. Eclectic, quirky, driven visionistic genius. Hugely interesting personality.
And a fan of Andy Warhol too!
had zero respect for Cage until this show.
What is meant by the adjective "underrated" in this context? I see that applied to celebrities all the time, and it seems absurd. Is there a rating for celebrities that I've never heard of?
Serious inquiry.
@@camplethargic8 Just read in an article '..before the time when he was making straight-to-DVD-movies.', him beeing a good actor. Which implies that his acting talent is tied to the commercial success of the movies he's starring in. Which is something the critics would not do with for example Clooney or Pit, who produce and star in these smaller, independent, often political movies, that are not always blockbusters either. Which are then in turn called underrated by said critics.
Also you got all these memes of him taken from various smaller films, that especially when taken out of context, make him look like a maniac. But he sure as hell has a method to his madness and he's taking his role about, let's say a guy who lost his pig just as serious as Clooney, who want's to convey the injustice of the McCarthy-era for example. Which under the auspices of art he should as it's just as important and has as much weight, making him therefore probably one of the current most underrated actors.
Though I have to admit, I myself haven't seen most of his movies, especially the more recent ones. Mostly because I myself thought for a long time that he had just lost it.
Until I watched one or two and draw my own conclusions.
You got respect for a person you've never interacted with just because you saw him on some show?
LeL
Brendan Fraser and Nic Cage should make a movie together hunting treasure and killing mummies.
I am tired of geriatric adventures
Spot on!
Take my money now!!

Love it
He charmed ALL of us, didn’t he? ❤ What an absolute delightful interview - Nic Cage is brilliant and we need to bubble wrap this immensely talented man!
Thanks for your continuous love and support. ❤️

That Graduate moment was pure gold. 😂😂😂😂😂
I say it again. Nicholas Cage is a whole lotta moods! And I'm freakin' here for it!

What a captivating and articulate storyteller Nicolas Cage is. I could listen to him for hours!
He even could play a fallen angel with Meg Ryan which is a movie I think people completely forget about but it was heart-wrenching. Very refreshing to see him after him being absent for so long- very cool dude.
Yes! I love that soundtrack!
City of Angels, the movie that when I figured out how it was going to end after I had suffered through a better than 3/4 of it started throwing my foam touchdown bricks and bad call bricks at my TV set. Yes I am old enough to have owned a TV set. I was never so damn mad of a movie in my entire life. I really liked it up until I realized what was going to happen. Andre Bragher play his. Best friend he was amazing so is Dennis Franz. It was an outstanding movie plus it had the Goo Goo Dolls soundtrack.
Who doesn't enjoy a Nic Cage movie?
As a matter of fact, the @OfficialNicCage portrayal of an Angel, literally SAVED MY LIFE!
I was 24 when my Groom of 34 days, a Professional FF/EMT/HAZMAT rock of a man, was suddenly killed on duty. (We'd been together 6.5 yrs.)
Later that night, I spontaneously aborted via miscarriage, our little one.
(I had learned we were +/-6 weeks pregnant in the wee hours/after he had left for his 24hr shift...but wanted to wait until after he'd returned safely 28hrs later.)
Our teen children, all from his previous marriage, stayed with their paternal GP that night, & never returned to me.
I had 5 special & wanted souls taken from me.
Our home wasn't the only empty vessel in my life.
I was shredded, devastated & completely lost for about 3 months, at the time I caught a glimpse of myself in the bathroom mirror, in the house the two of us had been building by hand.
I had our .45 in my mouth, ready to 'eat it'. (I chose standing in the shower as being easier to clean afterwards. Strange...the thoughts that pop up at times of stress.)
In THAT 'glimpse', thoughts of religion interrupted my pain.
As the Roman Catholic religion has done for many...it made everything worse!
In that moment of 'solution'...their idea of Hell ripped apart the thought of where I'd be heading...to some WONDERFUL place my AMAZING, BRAVE, HONERABLE, & SELF SACRIFICING husband & little one would CERTAINLY be...some kind of 'Heaven'.
The risk of failing to be with them for a joyous eternity was more terrifying, than suffering however long any solutary existence on Earth would be.
So I pulled the .45c from my mouth & never entered THAT room again.
Though I'd finished our dream home, returned to my VERY active 911 EMS (NREMT-P/FF) career, & was now also an EMS Division Chief...10yrs had passed by at a snail's pace.
I'd spent nearly every day working hard & helping others survive THEIR trauma, yet my off-duty thoughts frequently returned to 'options'.
Then, that same year, City of Angels, & What Dreams May Come, were released.
While the WDMC storyline was different, the thought of my SOULMATE choosing as the male lead had, terrified me!
But in CoA, my life was played out on screen.
By the end of CoA, EVERYTHING changed.
Thru Nic Cage's performance, I saw how I needed to change my perspective...it was THE ONLY WAY to reach my goal.
It's CERTAINLY not been easy...these 35 yrs since my husband sudden & tragic death & loss of our unborn...but Nic SAVED my life.
He STILL does.
Every time I hear his name, see his movies, or even come across a picture of him, my promise is renewed, &, to quote my Groom...do "WHATEVER IT TAKES" to finish my life term on Earth.
It's my duty to do what I Loved so much about him...appreciating EVER MOMENT, no matter how good or bad it may be...because I'm here to do so. If only because he no longer can.
Oh...& @StephenColbert was a wonderful help, too.
I mean, he DID invite Nic Cage on his show....right? (LOL)
Oh my gosh, Thank you! As you described that movie, I kept trying to remember- he did a movie with Meg, they did a movie, what movie was it ( it takes a lot these days to search my memory vault and find what I’m trying to recollect ) and I was able to remember it! “City of Angels.” I love that movie. Haven’t seen it in decades.
@@reddraghain wow. You went thru a lot. RIP to your husband. You are resilient. A survivor.
Nicholas Cage carrie’s himself with such confidence. He’s quick to add a serious side note while never taking a moment too seriously. More please 🙃🤟🏼
Thanks for your continuous love and support. ❤️
For how long have you been a fan of mine?
You can NEVER have enough Nic Cage ❤❤❤❤❤
I'm so glad that Nick has made his way back to the talk-show circuit. Never enough interview time listening to him. He's truly marvellous 😊
The way nick cage speaks basically forces you to sit down, listen, and just wait in awe of whatever it is he is going to say next.
I could listen to Nicholas Cage talk for hours. He is so fantastically expressive, intelligent, charming; a wonderful storyteller! His best film will always be Moonstruck. Snap out of it!! ;) I love him.
Thanks for your continuous love and support. ❤️

This one of a handful of times I didn’t mind hearing someone - famous or not - do a lot of namedropping. Cage isn’t talking egotistically about it, he has definite awe in his voice about each of the people he mentioned.
He's just the best at describing everything. I could listen to him for hours.
we need An Evening with Nicolas Cage
Yes! Yes!! Yes!!!
love the exchange at the end where Colbert is so entranced by him...that he mistakes Nic's going to get coffee as a handshake and yet they both still shake hands. its awesome.
Love that he mentioned Christopher Lee and Gary Oldman, both iconic legendary on screen larger than life Draculas. Nicolas is so passionate about what he does and is so boyishly cute. Adore his voice impressions as well, also adore his intelligent articulation of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lewis, Marlon Brando and Anne Bancroft. Straight up brilliant genius and original unique inventive actor/ thespian.
He just let him talk all he wants. Perfect.
One of the best classic Modern Hollywood Actors .so many ups and downs and all arounds...Nic has come a long way since Fast Times and Valley Girl...great to see cool hand Nic tell some stories he needs to do an audio book!
The enigmatic Nic Cage with the accurate Marlon Brando impression
This man is a national treasure! ♥
He's so interesting this is one of the best interviews I've ever seen He's always himself so intelligent a great actor
Thanks for your continuous love and support. ❤️

Since moonsruck ! Amazing diversity as an actor I haven't seen you interviewed that much I was really impressed your a very intense person it was a great interview you have alot of fans probably more than you think ✌👋🙏
There’s nobody like Cage!!! Love him!!!🥰🥰

Lol. Omg. The Graduate bit. XD
Nicholas Freakin' Cage!!!

Can't think of a "bad" Nick Cage movie. I watch his Christmas movie The Family Man, every year. Such an awesome performance by each character. Especially the little girl playing his daughter.
Huge fan of "The Family Man". I watch it every Christmas. My favorite Christmas movie.
Me too..as long as he is in it I can warch aaaall of themm
Even if the movie sucks Nick still kills the role
The Wicker Man, the 2006 version with Cage.
Watch Trapped in Paradise, it's imo even better.
Amazing his connection to old Hollywood
I never realised how delightful Nicolas Cage is whe he's being himself in interview. :-)
Lovely!
Two super-intelligent, articulate guys! Never knew Cage had it. Wow! 😮🤯
2:51 That's a really good David Lynch impression!! Nic Cage does great impressions.
Great actor and great interview. Was so glad to hear him mention Vampire's Kiss - great movie.
Wow!! Stephen brilliant interview!!
So fun!!
you should have him on more often, great story teller
So I learned from this interview that Nick is insanely film obsessed. Not say it's a bad thing, vary impressive actually.
Can you imagine him and Tarantino interviewing each other.
The fact that he put Langella in the list of best Draculas says a lot!
Love and enthusiasm for his craft!
He comes from an iconic film family
Thanks for your continuous love and support. ❤️
For how long have you been a fan of mine?
Nicholas Cage is always brilliant in everything he does - but my absolute, all-time, stand-out favourite Nick Cage film, was Captain Corelli's Mandolin. Just wonderful.
He really is one of those actors that always delivers no matter what! There's only a few thousand on the planet that are this talented. Very rare to have the skill of being constantly entertaining. I'm a boring unlikable jerk most of the time haha. So arr most foklks. How do these folks do it???
I really like that movie, shame it's not more popular

Thanks for your continuous love and support. ❤️

Love Stephan Colbert great host with the greatest gift , since David Letterman with personally connecting with guests. 👍🥰
But Dave was always kinda aloof. Never gave himself away. I can understand that.
Johnny Carson did too. IMHO
He is in a class all his own. 🌟
Thanks for your continuous love and support. ❤️
For how long have you been a fan of mine?
It is so wonderful to hear an actor whom has such a wonderful brain and stories. So many actors when on interviews can't talk with out Q cards.
Nicolas Cage is turning into a movie star legend!! Love this dude!
So cool, Cage delivers.
I love this guy!! I love the fact that he knows every movie, every director, what they have done and when they did it. He knows the movies!! He loves his work! Just a cool guy!
Thanks for your continuous love and support. ❤️

@@NicolasCageprivatte "Valley Girl"🙂
Nick Cage wins guest of the year.
Nic Cage for a first impression is so weird, but when he starts explaining things makes so much sense
Love ya, Cage ❤
These guys love each other! Never saw that coming.
Agree!
@@lyndaspangler9654 I think the Keanu Reeves interview was an eye-opener for Colbert, regarding people he’s been a little savage to in the past…maybe not. I was just reminded of that one, a little.
Do you want me to saduce you?:Nicolas cage 2023
A li'le bit. Stephen Colbert also 2023
Yes, I want you to seduce me, is always the right answer when Nick Cage is asking. Colbert should have paused and let the moment play out, let Cage lead, as he seemed so ready to do. Such a curious and open mind! Cage was Randy from Valley Girl the first time I became aware of him. He's still one sexy mo fo!
It‘s a quote from the graduate…
Yes...by telling me more stories!❤
Can we just let him talk, and talk and talk? He's a good storyteller. 👏
I would not want to live in a world without Cage.
Cage really is a terrific guest!
Thanks for your continuous love and support. ❤️

I haven’t watched many Nicolas Cage interviews. He’s a great storyteller
Here for the Brando story 🤣🤣🤣 classic
I'm here for the David Lynch impression! 2:53 "I love it, Nic-ster. That's solid gold buddy!" 🤣🤣🤣💀
I will always have time for this man
“This is a snakeskin jacket, and for me, is a symbol of individuality and my belief in personal freedom” Sailor
If you haven’t seen Nic in Matchstick Men, you’re in for a treat.
Nick behaves the way you expect and actor to behave.
thats why hes the perfect actor XD
He is Hollywood
I'm sure you mean as a THESPIAN to behave 🤣
He is almost a caricature of himself… which makes it funny because it’s really him. Also why Unbearable weight was so funny.
I adore him!!
That he cites the masterful Pig as his favorite own movie is priceless.
Wow, truly hoping that Colbert & Cage are 'in conversation ' for a couple of hours some day. This was really fun & interesting interview/conversation. Thanks guys
* clutches chest and scoots to the edge of his seat at the prospect of a long, steamy, drawn out kiss *
Aw.
He's so fun to watch
I love that Colbert is fan-boying. It is sweet.
I gotta get that suit. If nic wasn't an actor he would still be a celebrity some people just have that thing about them.
I love that suit also. He is always well dressed on talk shows. He wore an awesome gun metal grey suit on Kimmel last year and another great one on Corden. Look them up if you haven’t already seen them.
Nicolas Cage needs to drink a Bud Light at the Kid Rock Bar.. That be having some Cojones..🤣
Magas can't afford it so, they drink the skunk 'Natural Ice'
- Dadgummit, another Emmy for Colbert.
Nic Cage has got to be one of the all time best Late Show guests Colbert has gotten to interview. I haven’t seen Cage interviewed since
(Probably) Letterman and he’s great! Great storyteller.
I don’t know if the two of them could make it work, but I would love to see Nicolas Cage in a Quentin Tarantino movie!
Cage should play Tarantino in a bio pic
What an actor!! 👏👏👏
Nicolas Cage was married to Elvis's daughter Lisa Marie. He also got Johnny Depp to start making movies.
Nicolas Cage is back... not that he went anywhere.
🤣🤣🤣♥️
now that's a great guest
Must be a fantastic journey working with Mr. Cage.
I thank Nicholas for helping Johnny Depp get in the business. Apparently he saw the raw talent in him that he has honed so well. Johnny is also a good human being.
This why he is the best... Cage....
This is how you sell your new movie by coming out and making interesting appearances and interviews like this. Now I WANT to see Renfield.
Cage is awesome. Brings so much to every film he's in. He's going to crushed it as Dracula. Excited for his Dracula.
"Renfield" looks like a blast! Personally, I ❤ Moonstruck, Raising Arizone, Kick-Ass, National Treasure (2004). Blue Bliss channel on RUclips has some fantastic Nic Cage art and animation.
Love Nicolas, one of my favorite actors since I was a boy
He'd be terrific in a podcast format show. 👌🏽
Damn nic cage is real good at impersonation
He needs to do a one man monologue tour like Mark Twain and later Gregory Peck used to do around the world
So cool that the Nickster still loves to talk up Wild at Heart in 2023, my favorite of his performances.
Nic and Jim Carrey are long-time best buds. I really hope they collaborate on something soon before Jim turns too far inward and recluses himself. I think they'd make a great movie or even just a cool short film or skit.
This man isn't crazy. He's a genius. And, often times, most people don't recognize genius... They call it 'eccentric.'
I don't think I'd ever seen an interview with Nicholas Cage before but he seems so cool. He reminds me of Jeff Goldblum but more articulate. Really enjoyed these 3 videos.
Nic every week please.
Love Nicholas Cage. Can you name the Cage movie that had this line: "Son, you got a panty on your head" 😂
Raising Arizona
Christopher Lee made me a Dracula fan and a Christopher Lee fan.
5:16 I have never heard a crowd silencing itself as quickly as it did here because The Nic Cage here is about to say something.
he is straight up wearing high heels and I fucking love it
Snakeskin jacket!!! My husband’s favorite movie quote ever!
So much love for this guy. All my friends growing up had crushes on hunky Hollywood it Actors, give me Nick any day! I wonder if he’s ever tried stand up?
He could just do a 'spoken word' tour telling stories about Hollywood and it'd be enthralling, and probably funny, too.
“Nickster is solid gold in this interview!”
God, I LOVE that snake skin jacket! I've been looking for one ever since that movie came out!
I want to read poetry with Mr. Nicolas Cage
What a great interview
Finally some love for Wild At Heart!
