Mecum has there tricks. Like jumping from 20k to 30k and never really having a real person bid 25k.
Sometimes mecum plants bid up too or the owners son bids to buy cars for the Florida auction but that's not fair cuz you are already at a 10% disadvantage toward them

Usually 10% for the buyer and 10% for the seller. So if the car hammers at 50k. Then the buyer pays 55k. And the seller gets 45k. Mecum gets 10
