  • A 1970 Plymouth Cuda 440 Rapid Transit Show Car, one of the four original Plymouth Rapid Transit System Caravan traveling road show cars, was recently sold at Mecum Indy for $2 million.
This particular Cuda, with only 967 miles on the odometer, has been hidden away for over 50 years. It was built for Plymouth by renowned customizer Chuck Miller and is considered a mechanical masterpiece. As an early production car, it bears the serial number 100005 and retains its original 440 6-BBL driveline.
The car was part of the Rapid Transit System Caravan, a factory group of custom cars displayed at auto shows and dealerships in the early 1970s. The car's unique design features, original paint, and excellent preservation make it highly desirable among Mopar collectors. With its historical significance and iconic design, this Cuda is sure to be a prized addition to any collection.

So happy you guys sold it for that much peace of history. One day I’ll try to look up the build plate to find my dad’s 1970 dodge challenger I was delivered from the hospital in that car his girlfriend talked him into selling it years ago since then, he passed. I remember being able to use it on the weekends and I feel like I had driving it was freedom.
    Utter and complete freedom

ALL 4 of the RTS cars need to be scanned and recreated in 1:18 scale die cast collectibles for all of us who would love to have that piece of automotive history in our homes. That would be the ultimate way of honoring the wish of the previous owner.

I saw a video where they said the year before it was maybe a lime green, and the next year they wanted it to look fresh so they surface sanded the old paint and just painted the current design over it. So the original is still there to, that's free shit.
