    SSR thanks for your advice and help choosing a bot. After trying the RR E4, S4 max neato D4, and the 360 S5, I bought this, and Wow totally impressed; they upped the motor to 2650 pa you can tell the difference in suction from the s4max, the s9 is super quiet on quiet mode, the navigation is an improvement from the RR s4 max and the 360 s5 the ultrasonic sensor works, helps with avoiding obstacles that are not on the map, shoes left behind, etc.
    The multi maps are helpful even if you don't have a ton of floor plans as it keeps the last mapping in memory, so it has a recent copy of the floor plan for more accurate navigation than the RR like you mentioned it navigates and cleans around chair legs while keeping the most efficient routing, As I mentioned to you I thought support was going to be an issue, I was WRONG, the key is using the Facebook platform. RR has a US-based call center, BUT it's outsourced support using FAQs 360 has SME who know the product AND access to the engineers in real-time.
    Build quality is better than the s4 max, and the dust bin is large enough. It mops OK, and I prefer the internal tank option, so I'm not worried about water leaking on the floor; thus, no need for the plastic mat and the map pad is easy to install, I wish it were in black, but white has been easy to clean.
    I paid $370 for mine, so it's 15% cheaper than the s5 max. The stronger motor (confirmed it is a motor upgrade, not overclocking) is impressive. But better sensors, anti stuck tech, ten-floor plans, internal water tank, direct support (whose English is better than RR China support), physical remote, and end of January, the ability to delete phantom mapped rooms equaled a better bot for me. The s7 pro for $299 is a steal too.
    A head to head with the 2650 S7pro S9 vs the RR s6 and S5 max would be interesting

    Most of the Robots will wander when the power to the base is cut off. Can you confirm that is not the case with 360 S9 ?
    Explaining it better
    1) Allow the Robot to go back to it's charging dock.
    2) While Robot is charging cut the power to the charging base/Dock ( Same situation as a power cut without backup)
    3) Most of the Robots comes out of the charging base and start wandering around.
    4) Qn - what is the scenario for 360 S9. Will it also face the same issue ?

      A simple solution would be to plug the base into a UPS (uninterruptable power supply.) These can be found for $40-50. Side benefit is they will protect the unit from surges and brownouts.

    Interesting bot. How does it compare to the Roborock S6? Do you think the camera on the T7 will be better than this?

    • @SmartRobotReviews
      @SmartRobotReviews  4 года назад +1

      Hey Jamie. The Roborock T7 does not have a camera so in terms of navigation they are similar. The S6 is quieter but it was designed to be quieter and keep in mind, the 360 S6 Pro is slightly more powerful. Compared to the Roborock S6, this bot does not have an extra filter but comes with a remote controller and a few plug types. Another thing is that the S6 has disposable wipes, in my case I didn't get them in the box with the S6 Pro. The 360 has an electronic water tank and three water output levels which is more convenient as you can switch it via the app. Another cool thing is full multimapping. I think the 360 robots have the best out of what I have tested. Its water tank is also bigger which means it covers a larger area and the feature I haven't seen in other robots is that it alerts when needs more water. The 360 can be ordered to clean the kitchen first and then the bedroom so you can prioritize where to clean first. The Roborock S6 does not have no-mop zones, the S6 Pro does. Overall I would say the S6 Pro is better than the S6 because it has more functions but I trust Roborock as a brand more and I like its customer support even tho the build quality of the 360 robots is good too.

    do you like the 360 S6 Pro better than the Roborock S6 or S5max?

    • @SmartRobotReviews
      @SmartRobotReviews  4 года назад +1

      Hi Eagle Striker, a very cool garage you have for your Roborock S6 I am so jealous :) Speaking of the Roborock S5 Max and S6. As I have already mentioned to Jamie, the 360 S6 Pro is better than the Roborock S6 because it has more features but the S6 has more accessories in the box and is also quieter. When comparing to the S5 Max, I would say they are equal. Both have no-go and no-mop zones, an electronic water tank, selected room cleaning, about the same sized containers that are always attached, etc. The S6 Pro has full multimap support which is nice. The S5 Max has customizable cleaning, you can set water output and suction power for each room, on the other hand, with the S6 Pro you can prioritize where to clean first. The S6 Pro has a stronger suction but it turns on carpet boost in about a second after stepping on a carpet, the Roborock is more accurate. If I had to choose, I don't know which one I would go for. I love Roborock for its customer support and build quality but the 360 robots also receive updates regularly. Both robots do a superb job tho. Does that help? :)

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters 4 года назад +1

      I would go with the Roborock S5 Max just because I have that one and not the S6 Pro 😁, just kidding!!! I have used the 360 S6 for a few years and I have to say the multi mapping up to 10, is the best in the business. The S5 Max can save 2 plus the current map which the map saving is done automatically. I assume the S6 Pro uses the same map saving as the regular S6. What I like about the S5 Max is the ability to preset water levels and power levels for each room. For my layout I have delicate hardwood floors which I use minimum water level and maximum suction. Just from observing this video and the S5 Max the navigation and App features are about the same.

    • @SmartRobotReviews
      @SmartRobotReviews  4 года назад

      @@RobotMasters This! Customization of the S5 Max is my favorite too. The 360 S6 Pro tho has a prioritizing feature that the Roborock lacks. And I have to say it too, the multimap management of the 360 robots is the best I've seen.

    Any idea why the CRM numbers on this 6:23 of the video is SOOO much lower than the S5 and S7 360 models which were 24 cfm

    • @SmartRobotReviews
      @SmartRobotReviews  3 года назад +1

      Not sure, maybe they redesigned the suction fan or filtration, or maybe I just incorrectly measured it. There should be no air leaks during measurement which is hard to reach with some models depending on the design of the brush/suction port. Anyway, the S9 shows better cleaning results than the S5/S7 and I noticed that sometimes robots with higher airflow (CFM) show much worse cleaning results than robots with the lower airflow. Also, there is no direct correlation between suction power (Pa) and airflow velocity (CFM), so robots with higher suction power may show lower airflow numbers and vice versa.

      It probably can go down from 2.5 cm, but it will not be able to climb on a 2.5 cm obstacle. The max climbing height for this robot vacuum is 2 cm. In the video, I used 1.8 cm planks.

      The manufacturer doesn't recommend adding a detergent inside the water tank since it may cause water pump clogging. You can add it at your own risk, I know some guys adding a detergent inside the water tank, and don't have any issues. Probably it depends on the type of detergent.

      @@zipzipho It can remove some stains (like stains in this video), but will not be able to remove old stubborn stains. Sure, it would perform better with a detergent, but as I said, it's a bit risky. Or you can add a detergent directly on the mopping pad, it's completely safe.

    • @SmartRobotReviews
      @SmartRobotReviews  3 года назад +1

      Sure, it's how it is supposed to work. No mop zone is the same no go zone, the only difference is that the first one is active only when the mopping pad is attached. For example, you draw a no-mop zone where your carpet is located, and the robot will not go on the carpet when you run it in mopping mode (with the mopping pad attached). But as soon as you remove the mopping pad, it ignores the no mop zone and goes on the carpet.

    • @SmartRobotReviews
      @SmartRobotReviews  3 года назад

      Hi! Agree, that's weird that the more expensive model shows lower CFM, but that's what I got when tested it. Higher airflow doesn't necessarily mean better cleaning performance. Maybe the S9 has a better filtration system (which reduces airflow) or something like that. For example, the cheaper Roborock S4 has higher airflow (19CFM) than the expensive Roborock S6 MaxV (16 CFM), so it's not always higher in more expensive models. I've seen some robots with high airflow but very poor cleaning performance. There is also no direct correlation between suction power (Pa) and airflow velocity (CFM). Overall, the S9 is pretty good at cleaning. Spare parts from the S7 are not interchangeable with the S9.
