Email Tuning - 101 Tutorial (Diablosport T2/HP Tuners)

- In this video I step through each step in email tuning. No matter the manufacturer (Diablosport or HP Tuners) the concepts apply to both tuning hardware/software. I take you step by step, including finding the PIDs, to get you from opening the box to loading an emailed tune. I have not seen a tutorial go into this much detail to give you everything you need to know in each step.
My channel is dedicated to the 5.7 liter HEMI, though we touch on the 6.4 (392, Scat Pack, and Daytona) and Hellcat (both base and Redeye trims), continually adding modifications to get the most out of it. I try to bring content that is not only informative but hopefully entertaining. I do not want others making the same mistakes I did and hopefully save you some money in the end. I am dedicated to taking my 5.7 liter Hemi in its stock form as fast as it will possibly allow me. My current list of modifications is extensive but there is plenty more to come. If you are modifying your 5.7 Hemi, this is the channel to watch. 17” Race Star Skinnies up front (Hossier 27.5/4.5/17)

Front: 20x9.5 Demon Replicas with Nitto 555 G2 (275/40/20)

It’s like you read my mind today. Cause I need a custom tune for whenever UPS stops playing games and brings me my long tube headers. I’m going a different as far as who I’m tuning with with my i3, but definitely needed this info. Thank you!

Awesome!... So far heres what I bolted on complete CAT back exaust, CAI, Performance coils, new plugs, BBK 85mm TB, 180 T stat. 5.7 Hemi. Im order the Trans Tune as well. Also for all that are using the Trinity 2 you can get the eas cable and wire your aem wideband in so you’ll be able to have the reading on the trinity and when data logging.
Great point! With the EAS cable you can also add a couple more outputs if I am not mistaken. So if you need other gauges, like boost for example, you can do those as well.

Do you know if there are any instructions or videos on how to wire the EAS cable for the analog A/F ?

I got a t2 for a 2020 r/t (it was totaled) and got a 08 Srt8 not to long ago, my question is will the t2 work in my 08 Srt8?

Great info where did you get the AF guage mount pillar and guage
Thanks. I got it off Amazon. It was one of the basic A pillar mounts. When I had it installed we just put 2 or 3 self tapping screws in it. If you go the same route, make sure you don't hit the air bag if equipped with one in that pillar.

Great video. Thanks for that. Is it required to buy unlocked PCM to allow you to make these changes in tune or a simple purchase of license for a specific car is enough?
For 2014 and later you have to either buy an unlocked PCM or get your stock one unlocked. 2014 and earlier you can just tune it.

Super informative! Good to see what Jay will wanna see in the log. How did you wire/setup your a-pillar and wideband? There is sparse info on the actual physical setup for that bad boy.
Thanks! Well, I had someone do it for me but I was there watching the whole time. I can't quite remember exactly where we hooked it up. I know we used a hot that was ignition activated and ran the sensor cable through the firewall where everything else comes in. I will have to do a video on it, once I go back and remember how we did it. lol...

Hey I seen you used jay green tune and allso dyno tune from EFI from Dave could you tell a difference in them
Jay Greene was awesome tuner. The only reason I went to EFI and Dave for a dyno tune was I went forced air and decided to go that route. The biggest difference between the two is if you do a dyno tune, make sure the tuner also tunes for drivability. Dynos are great for WOT tuning but not so much for daily driving. 😉
So essentially once I install desired upgrades like TB, headers and intake manifold, I would contact someone like Jay Greene, tell them my current mods installed, they’d send an email with the tunes on there, then somehow link that up onto the T2 and press download? Is this essentially what happens cause I’m really just a step above clueless when it comes to anything technology
Also, if Jay Greene sells cams with tunes, how exactly does that work too
@@maxb4210 Yes, whomever you get to tune it will need a list of all the modifications you have done. Then he/she will send you an email with the tune. All you have to do is connect your T2 to a computer and drag the tune onto the T2.
As for Jay selling cams and tunes, yes he does both. You would contact Jay and let him know what you want from the cam (thump, no thump, performance w/thump, etc.). He will send you the cam and a base tune to get the car running once the cam is installed. From there you would do some logging so Jay can dial in the tune to your car.

It is said you will get only 20hp but i have mods like hrt stage 2 camshaft master kit minus the lifters ebay, vvt phase locked, shorty headers and 6.4 intake manifold. Ive been to a dyno place but they had trouble getting it past 358whp my 2009 5.7 should be 400whp or more. Using this tuner after mods get me to 400whp is question?
Keep in mind the dyno is just a tool for tuning. A LOT goes into dyno numbers (manufacturer, weather, operator, dyno setting, correction factor, etc.). I wouldn't put to much into them. What I would put my effort into is getting to a track and using your ET and trap speed and input those into a HP calculator. That will give you a much better indication of your true HP. Can't fake physics. 😉

If I have an unlocked PCM from Diablo, and I have HP Tuners, can I tune my truck? Or do I have to have an unlocked PCM from HP Tuners? 2021 Ram 1500 5.7L e-tourque.
Not 100% sure but if you want it tuned on HP Tuners you'll have to get it unlocked by them as they use a different algorithm than Diablo. 💪💪💪

No, you can't. They use totally different software and unlocking mechanisms.
@@ModernRedHemi so get custom tunes on my t2 for my 2011 Chevy, I would have to find a tuner doesn’t use hptuners? How annoying cuz Ik so many guys who use it.

How do I do the trans tune
I am not a tuner. This was just to show how to get an email tune into the car. You are extremely limited in what you can do through Diablo though. There is a section in the tuning hardware (Trinity, InTune, etc.) that you can change a few parameters. 😉

By no means to I represent Diablosport but it's because technically it's an emissions defeat device. Though it's been up there since there inception, with the current crack down from the EPA they are trying to cover their rear ends. I am not a politician but if you have not signed the RPM Act through SEMA's website this crack down on our ability to modify cars is going to be gone soon.
