    EDIT: Wow I'm dumb, I said 8L V8 instead of V10.......obviously v10 haha. Brain fart

    The super rare V8 viper lol. Loved my gts, still swear it has the best seats of any sports car ive been in. It's a little rough around the edges but love it for what it is. Hot setup is swapping gen iv heads/intake , now you have a near 600hp N/A car thats super reliable.

      Good luck! I'd go for a 4th gen if it were me. They are valued higher in the viper community. the 3rd gen is a bit of a red headed step child haha

    • @ShiftLounge

      I would have no issues with the Viper. The powertrain and everything is real solid. I've seen plenty of Vipers with 100k or more on the clock. The issues with the Viper I have and many others have is everything around the power train/drive train. I would imagine your rear hatch shocks and window motors stop working well before your 1st set of spark plugs haha

    With only 8lbs boost my GTS easily makes 1300rwhp. You want to talk about heat? Without cats and with heat shields my sills are over 100deg. Lol If you don't want to be just another guy in the crowd this is the ultimate platform.

      I'm calling BS. I have a UGR TT with twin 78's and just about every mod you can think of (including ported Stryker race heads), it takes more than 8 lbs of boost to make 1300 rwhp!

      @@rockys7726 If this were the case, the engine would have to be making over 700 whp with no boost. That's about what a 9L stroker with a big cam and heads makes. If you have an 8L or 8.4L, that's extremely impressive if so! I've never heard of any TT Vipers making that much power on only 8 lbs of boost. Typically it takes 12+.

    • @ShiftLounge

      Stay away from the 1st gen altogether IMO. 2nd gen the best ones are 96-99 because of the pistons being able to handle more power. 03-08 are meh, but probably hold their value the least. The newest gen I don't know a ton about but they are up there in price and probably not coming down anytime soon haha

    • @ShiftLounge
      @ShiftLounge  3 года назад +1

      I haven't heard anything about bubbling paint being common. Doesn't mean it doesn't happen though. IMO it's much more common to have faded paint. I've definitely seen some Viper hoods, especially in the red, that have very faded hoods.

      @@ShiftLounge whenever my brother bought his Viper GTS 2001, the seller told us it was pretty common in all vipers. Also he bought it at viper exchange here in Houston, they had over 40 vipers at the time (1st and 2nd gen) so we thought he would know what he was talking about. His viper doesnt have any of that but I was just wondering if the guy was smocking crack or it was actually an issue.

    Only cons are the international haters who have crippled the reputation of the vipers racing history as America's Ferrari. Most winning international track racing car ever produced. Ever! Hand made, hand painted, made less vipers over from 1989 until 2017 then the Corvette in 2014...one single year.
