Kelly does a fantastic job describing the fine quality's of the Waco 9 .. He is also a good stick and rudder pilot flying this Waco 9 , P-51 , Grumman Duck and the Ford Tri-motor .
My granddad Richard Jones Gilmore of Yuciapa, Ca had a Waco 9. He loaned it to a buddy the engine had a vapor lock and crashed. I ended up taking it to the dump but kept the prop and instrument panel. I still have his flight goggles, gloves, boots, a few leather helmets and hundreds of photo memories. Sure miss my granddad.
Wow! I thought the old Hawkers were flying Rube Goldberg devices! I'm glad to see that there are still people around that know how to work on, and fly, aircraft from that era; there aren't many of the planes left, and there aren't many people that know how to work on them left. Tomorrow is Saturday, I'll keep up on the promise and drive up. If you're there, I'll give you a joke on trim controls.
Wrench245 Hey buddy! Glad you liked it! Kelly is a Jedi at the antique side of Aviation! He’s a fantastic guy to boot!! We have many laughs together, mostly at each other’s expenses! Haha
