I do believe we go somewhere after death, because energy cannot be destroyed only transfered.
Just because you cannot remember stuff before being born doesn't mean it was nothing.
Before you were born, you had no energy, so all the time spent before you were born was truly nothing. You were only brought into existence when you were conceived, and then you had your mother transfer energy into you for the next 9 months. Then you live out your life for however many years, and when you die, your body simply breaks down into nothingness as it’s eaten away fungi and worms. So your energy comes from nothing and inevitably will turn to nothing, unless you believe in an afterlife which has zero compelling evidence in favor of its existence.

The story about his dad is exactly WHY people believe. Life is a gift from nature and that’s amazing. When you die you back into nature where you came from and the cycle goes on. It’s pretty beautiful, and we don’t need an afterlife to have a better present life.
Morgan was my favorite actor on the Children's Television Workshop's, "The Electric Company." After leaving that show, I didn't see him on TV for years until his performance in "The Gospel At Colonus" in 1985. After that, his career skyrocketed!

I'm agnostic. In my mind there may be an afterlife or not. How if there is no afterlife it doesn't make everything meaningless. What you is karma that can be passed on. If this is the only life there is then it makes in even more crucial to live it with meaning and embrace it.

I think people are not as interested in immortality as they are coping in this life. I dont think it's any accident that the greater the poverty the more religious. You can endure trauma if you think you'll have riches in a heaven. You can cope with grief due to death of a loved one if you think you'll see them again after you die. You can accept people doing horrible things if you think they'll be punished in a hell. It's not about not dying, it's coping with this life.
