I dont think Ivar really wanted to kill him , I saw his face , He does not know how to control his anger , his mother always allowed him to do and say what he wanted with no consequences, so he just does with out thinking although he is very smart , this was very sad

When Sigurd told Ivar he wasn’t a real man, I could see the genuine hurt in his face. Ivar has always had to prove himself his whole life due to his disability. You expect it from the world, but not from loved ones.

As far as real history goes, Sigurd actually becomes one of the most feared and successful of the brothers, he becomes king of Denmark. This is one part of the show I disagree with. They really wasted his character.

so, as much as I didn't like Sigurd for not having that much of a character in the show, he surely died like a "Ragnarson" putting out the axe from his belly, wield it and seek to strike the man who attacked him with the same axe before dying, if that doesn't grants a viking his way to valhalla I don't know what will do it
