I hope the ADs optimism about the media deal proves true so we (PAC) can.move to the next step and get those new teams. Also, might be time to consider an artificial turf field.
There are 6 teams. Mercedes Benz Center (Atlanta United), Gillette Stadium (New England Revolution), Providence Park (Portland Timbers), Lumen Field (Sounders FC), Bank of America Stadium (Charlotte FC) and BC Place (Vancouver Whitecaps) with artificial playing surfaces in MLS.. FIFA doesn't ban it but does say it has to be of a very high quality. Since Snap Dragon isn't going to see any of the World Cup games I don't see why it couldn't install FIFA rated artificial turf. I've read that the USWNT has this whole thing about "well the men don't play on it" but that's not entirely true when it comes to MLS. It is true that men's Olympic soccer games and the EPL, La Liga and Serie A don't play on AT but lets be real, those leagues can afford to keep "soccer only" stadiums. SDSU nor the SD Wave have the money to maintain a just for football or soccer stadium.
Thank you for this interesting interview. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the AD talking about the grass at Snapdragon. My home NWSL recently received a last minute home game as San Diego played their final home game of the season in Louisville. What is so ironic about this is that last season San Diego played in Louisville, we had 10,000 10 year old girls in the stands all wearing "Morgan 13" shirts. Did queen Alex show? NO! She was at a Taylor Swift concert. To heck with the queen's job and fans, just NO SHOW them. The queen's coach, I have forgotten the woman's name and refuse to utter it ever again said: "Oh, the pitch in Louisville is not good enough for our queen." Ironic, isn't it? Thank the AD, for the explanation, and know that we, in Louisville employ similar techniques to make the best playing field possible. Good luck to SDSU in the coming years.
PacX needs to go get: Toledo AppSt Marshall Ohio UConn (with free out) Texas St Ga State Coastal Carolina Then get the media deal with a prorata clause for the entirety of the AAC and a list of other schools, including: SJSU UNLV Liberty James Madison Old Dominion FIU (Miami) La Tech (alt for Tulane) Northern AZ NMSt Troy South Alabama Southern Miss UMass Maybe long term upgrade: Villanova Georgetown

Thanks for watching - with major International soccer and MLS that’s not likely.

The longer this takes the more desperate they look. Especially since they were trying to wrap this up a couple of months ago and it blew up on them.
