Don't be scared of the soufflé, it is amazing. Just use a tiny tiny amount at first. It also refreshes well, I've diluted it in a spray bottle and love it. I'm maybe gonna break up with Devacurl...

I must have used a little too much. Because I felt it weighed my hair down and my hair felt oily and had residue. 😞

Why not try the got2b "smooth operator" leave-in, if they still sell it in the US. I'm not sure. I'm in Belgium, it's called differently here, but it is the same product. It's not expensive and I have used this for years. I should break it out again. I have it stocked up in my bathroom cabinet, but I'm using other things like Cantu and Shea Moisture at the moment.

This one is over my price point. I find it quite expensive for a leave-in. But your curls look nice!

From what I gather from this review this sounds like applying Murray's Hair Pomade to your hair as a leave in. I don't know what is with hair care lines trying to bring back that texture. I am still going to buy this product because I have to try it for myself. But its nice to know going into this that I should emulsify this product in my hands before applying to my hair. Will report back when I have tried it. May buy the styling souffle product as well, but I am extra.
As for stuff for you to try, Mixed Chicks recently expanded its styling range with a gel, another creamy/leave in type product and a hair balm of sorts. There could be stuff there for you to explore. Also, am not sure you got back to us on the Ouidad Climate Control Gel so there is that as well. I recently got a sample of that with my Ulta order. I should test that out. Also, while I know "souffle" type products kind of turn you off because of SM, but CURLS has a product called Curl Souffle that I think you would really like. It's very creamy and emollient (like your ride or die, but a tad thicker) and not kind of mousse-y and coconut oil based like the Curl Enhancing Smoothie.
Yes let me know how this products works for you! Curls and Mixed Chicks aren't bad lines so I'll look into trying more products from that line. & it's funny you mentioned the Ouidad climate gel, because I'm reviewing that this week lol.
