This band is the best, with singer Geoff Tate, the music and his voice, has always made me feel better, when I was at my worst, Thank you.
At the risk of being hate-bombed,...I love Geoff. Always have. Always will. He's my guy. He's a legend.
Yes he is a legend I saw them with Metallica of the Injustice for all tour and their operation mind crime theatrical tour and they opened up with queen of the reich one of the most difficult notes to hit in any song and I'm telling you that note that he hit was at least 13 seconds or more it was phenomenal
There's no hate from me, Geoff was great. With only 2 original members remain today, it's almost a karaoke band. Todd rescues the band, as u know he sounds like the 1984 Geoff Tate
I feel the same way, seen them in mid 90s Seattle
YES HE IS A LEGEND
No hate here, just always remember those performances from the Empire tour and the Promised Land tour. He was the Man,is the Man,Will always be the Man who rocked our world. Happily we still have videos of it all.
Geoff was Queensryche and will forever be!!!
lol
I saw this band for the first time in 84 (Warning) and during all these years heard the job of this guys just gave me very good vibrations...Geoff Tate had an amazing voice !! Thanks for share...
watching in 2019 anybody?.. I am.. !!! Thanks For The Video. Great Band.. Tod LaTorre is killing it now.
2021
No matter what, thats my favorite singer
Tate and De Garmo... 🤘🥰🤘🥰 My favorite ppl in metal. Operation Mindcrime (and other albums before and with Promise Land) literally saved my life... Thank you guys... 🙏🤗
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS MAN!!!
I saw Geoff Tate (and Queensryche obviously) the first time they ever played in NYC. It was at a tiny club in Queens called L'Amours East and I stood about 10 feet from the stage. It was the most amazing show I've ever seen and I've been to 100's of live shows. His voice was one of a kind. There will NEVER be another Geoff Tate.
FYI, there is a really good quality of that show on YT
@@chukdotcom2 If you know the title I'd be much obliged!
@@savvy1856 ruclips.net/video/WJw5qRa-mhc/видео.html
@@chukdotcom2 YOU ARE THE MAN! Thank you for taking the time 👍
@@savvy1856 No problem. I have watched that video 100 times. I often think about the kids that were there and the fact that they are all 50-60 now. So glad that pieces of history like this exist.
nobodys pipes last forever,i salute Geoff.
You've heard of Glenn Hughes?
@@DudemanSwede Prime example. Hughes is amazing !!!
however respect for one of the most incredible voice we could ever listen to....
Walking in a shadow🙏so great, voice Wouah, no chang🤷🏾♂️it’s 🔥 Fire🙋🏽♀️💕Look in my Eyes, Jet City Woman👍Eyes of a Strangers 🙏interprétation Songs so great than 25 years later🙋🏽♀️💕Thanks Geoff🙏💕
I saw you guys in the 80's at the corpus Christi Colosseum and nobody can even come to your voice Geoff may you keep on for a long time.
Was at this show. QR was one of the main reasons I went. I wasn't expecting the 80's-90's QR. Time moves on for all of us. I just appreciated being able to see a lot of great bands for 3 days in a row. As far as I'm concerned, the only truly "low" point was Megadeth and that was only because you couldn't really hear Dave.
Notice that the band really seemed to come alive when Geoff Tate left the stage at the end of their set. Just shows how much of a rift there was between them and Tate at the time.
3:58 is what you are here for.
I keep saying this; but Grunge killed this band. I can imagine that causing arguments/problems for which direction to take.
Great Show! Queensrÿche always rocks!!!!! Geoff your voice is amazing!
3:58 is what you are here for.
Ultimately they were a great & intelligent class act & high level of musicianship, saw them a few times in London, one of the best 'live' bands without question & Rock albums in OMC.
3:58 is what you are here for.
This was by no means a class act performance. What the F was Geoff thinking with this look and sound and the way he held the mic. Vomit.
Geoff may not be able to sing the high pitch vocals anymore, but he can still sing in general.
the band come alive as soon as Geoff leaves the stage. look at the expressions on their faces change.
Yeah, like they could just be themselves!
and one more....michael you are the best.
Very good
2020 watching this. What a sucky year, thank God for QR.
my band! the best of the best!
saw them at house of blues, hollywood for my birthday and they were awesome.
You never ever tell the people who support you musically and financially that they suck! What goes around comes around!
Come on, this crowd sucks really bad.
Yeah but to be fair; they DID SUCK hahaha
The show finally starts at 26:44
No kidding.
with a heavy heart we mourn your breakup queensryche.
Man it was OVER at this point
If you read the background events before this performance im amazed they could even do the show.
Banda fantástica.
geoff sounded good here wish i could have been there what a kickass show!
The crowd sure does look inspired after being told they suck, don’t they? I swear he sounds like he’s plugging the nose during silent lucidity
Sadly, this was the end for these guys as a band.
For most it all comes to a end with age, but for those looking for a Rock Great that still has it, check out a 2010 Concert on DVD with a reformed Bad Co and the legend PAUL RODGERS who HAS found the fountain of youth.
truuu story...queensryche has had and probably does still have...the baddest drum sets of all time..thiers nothing small on this band
the guitars are a STATMENT...and geoff will never be replicated ..thers nobody that would even try to karaoke theses songs...
i will allways cherish the upfront proformace at the orbit room ...YOU BOYS REALLY ROCK US...thanks for your service
Tate tried making QR into a cabaret act. LMFAO
GREAT GREAT
THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH FOR SAYING THIS...I SAY IT ALLL THE TIME!!! GEOFF TATE WAS AND IS AND FOREVER WILL BE THE BACK BONE AND IDENITY OF THIS BAND.
wow, amazing \m/
guitar is great!!
Geoff can't sing those awesome songs anymore and that's understandable. Those old songs are brutal man! Queensryche for life!!
Holy crap! They ended with Anarchy X. Awesome!
Great Musik
26:48 The band comes to life! Geoff Tate singing is great. But hearing him now without the band.....he doesn't hit those high notes anymore.
Joe just saw Geoff and the original Queensryche at 7 FEATHERS CASINO in Oregon these guys fucking kicked ass Geoff hit every note. These crowd pissed him off or he was having a bad day. I can hear he is FUCKING tired of giving his all to a half ass crowd. Yep I know what the fuck is up.✌️
I feel pain watching this. I'd just finished watching a well-known (Hollywood) Vocal Coach react to the 1984 Tokyo performance of TAKE HOLD OF THE FLAME. The exclamations from the coach were fun to watch but he also got into exactly what Tate was doing - paraphrased - "He is the greatest vocalist of my lifetime". High praise indeed!! So I've decided that I will always worship the Geoff Tate we, who were there, know and love. I can't condemn a man. I don't have the right. But, I would prefer to think (now don't get mad) that Queensryche broke up in the early '90's and then were resurrected with Todd La Torre. THE VERDICT is beautiful and powerful.
True!
You can't Compare a copycat with the original. Tate is a legend.
really. Its really fun to read all comments here! So many different opinions and those opinions doesn't change anything or have any worth! thanks ! :)
drama drama drama,, THEY ARE STILL TIGHT AS FuNK and Michael Wilton you will forever melt my heart!!
only for words, my dear
For what it's worth, I think that Geoff's voice is still in evidence, and as good as ever. However, it is not cool to disrespect your audience....., they are the people who put you up there in the first instance......
You know what? One of my favorite albums of all time is geof tate's solo album. I dont care if queenryche is metal or not. I just feel that the last albums were strange. I still believe that queenryche and geof can do amazing jobs as long as they have a musical focus. Sometimes simplicity in music its the best way to show honesty. Thats i expect from whatever comes next. Peace
Eddie Jackson Rules....great bassist and vocalist...maybe even as good as........
Randy McMinn ... LOL.. now thats funny.. Jackson is a zero..
+Buck Norris you are a zero. bash band mates all because tate isnt with band anymore you sound like a 12 year bitter and butthurt!!!!
+Buck Norris the last show of your idol loser tate ha ha ha good riddance .glad to get rid of the cancer!!!!
+Buck Norris the loser tate is gone mega laughs!!!!
+Buck Norris funny how your idol geoff became a zero .silent lucidity was horrid sounded like sean connery lol!!!!
I could tell from this concert that it was starting to go south. They have been my favorite band since the Rage came out. Its sad to see it come to what it has.
Scott Rokenfield one of my fav drummers
Here, too. Him, Dave Grohl, John Bonham, Bill Ward. It's the details that make the difference - and Scott's snare that sounds like cannon shot! Spreading the Disease! Oh, and Rick Allen. 🤘🔥
He is a beast and definitely underrated.
this show was good
I migliori!!!
I still miss DeGarmo. 😓 saw them for Rage tour opening for AC/DC.
I just read in an interview that the band's lawyer fired Geoff through a letter to Geoff's lawyer, not that he was fired just before any show. His relatives were fired from the band's corporation just before a show in Brazil, but Geoff was not fired around the time of any show, if what I read is correct.
I would still pay to see them live, both Tate and Todd's version!!
19:00 they are are playing the original vocal track....
As for as Geoff Tate, we should all just appreciate the greats or former greats that are still getting out on stage like 67 yr old Ian Gillan or Tate, no matter how much they've lost.
Dont get me wrong I love Tate from way back but lets not forget that Tate sang on a demo with music already written by Degarmo, Wilton, Jackson, & Rockenfield and decided to leave Myst & Kelly Gray because he was no fool and knew these guys had more potential. And yes Tate contributed to the greatness but he also tore down the great band too. Now the great Band will rise again!
You're a moron and everyone knows that debating with a moron is pointless.
Rubbish. He came up with OMC (idea, lyrics, vocal melodies...)
wtf is that teenager guitarist doing with the band? Did he win a contest or something?
I will support both Queensryche bands as long as they are good. Wish both bands would come to Germany.
he is still rather good
I can't help but burst out laughing every time Geoff holds the mic against his nose.
metal guitar aweome
so glad the great queensryche sound is back todd la torre is such a breath of fresh air.man the new album condition human coming out is going be epic!!!!
I respect Geoff's contributions, but I have to agree. TLT brings the band back. Geoff became such a BORING performer. Todd just ROCKS the stage every time.
Stephen Mystery I happy Todd joined queensryche he sounds fucking amazing
This was a great set and show, I wish they would have stayed together. They palyed in San Antonio, and the crowd was crazy as hell, "San Antonio Rock Fest 2012" not like this dead crowd. Queensryche is always loved in SA!!! With or without Geoff. Rock on!!!
Ouch! This is painful. You can really see the tension between the band members. And what's with Geoff? Is he trying to be Rob Halford?
2021
Fuck yeah they sound good here...miss Chris..🤘
It's just the reflect of the whole situation going on behind (lack of energy, Geoff's weak...). They were already fighting, they knew what was coming... Now, it's really good that this show was recorded, 'cause it could be their last show together ever!
So sad to see the fall of this band, and Geoff destroying what were and still are, brilliant, awesome songs! Why, Geoff, why?
I’m watching in 2020 I like all their shows. But is the lead guitarist with the scarf the original in 91 with the long hair?
If you'd say Chris Degarmo, No. He left band in 1997 after the Here in the new frontier tour. But Michael Wilton whom with skull marked guitar is original member of Queensrÿche
Yes Susan (mrs tate) you're absolutely right. I stand corrected. Thank you for showing my the flaws in my logic. I'm forever in your debt
To add to my comment he was on fire for Jet City Woman so my guess is a sound/monitor issue for the start of Silent Lucidity. He quickly got his Tate mode back and hit it out the park.
Geoff tate should bring a six pack on the stage of rising west and give em all stone cold stunners.
The spitting incident happened in Brazil, a few weeks before this show. This is the last show they did (and presumably, will ever do together).
Can you give me a link to see this??
Michael Wilton and Scott Rockenfield are still beasts! Although I love Tate, he comes across pompous and arrogant. The attendance at this show is abysmal! Oh, how I long for the glory days of QR😢
Geoff says in a recent interview, "No, I wouldn't want to go back, I like my life. I played a lot of shows, a lot of music with those guys, all over the world. There's new music to write, new experiences to be had, I love traveling and playing shows, with the wife." That made me feel a little better. For about an hour. I miss them, too! I miss Geoff doing spins, that supernatural voice where it almost sounded like the studio version, and yes, that butt of his. Sorry, I was 14 when Mindcrime came out. He was my first crush LMAO, I shared him with my sister.
I hate getting old. HATE IT. 🔥🤘😎
Oh man, you wrote this before Scott went on paternity leave - and never came back. Now you're probably longing for the good old days 7 years ago when he was still with QR... If anything that's a good message to all of us to enjoy the present while it's here. 🔥🤘😠🤘🔥
Tate tells the crowd they suck about the band members didn't appreciate that every one of them put everything they have into their performance and it shows
its not geoff . its audience .most bands had same reaction from crowd.look at tora tora others youll see...
+moparsNguitars Exactly. The crowd DID suck - he was just telling it like it is, because that's what us Capricorns do.
Yah fair enough.
Please come to my country( Jakarta/ Indonesia ), Queensryche mania waiting for you
GREAT CONCERT , WHATS WRONG WITH THE AUDIENCE , ARE THEY ALIVE ?
That audience was there for the new rock and metal garbage (FFDP, Ax7)
I thought it was great. We always prefer all original members. But hard to come by these days. Only the best are out there killing it on stage live. Not washed up and sounding great still to this day.
80's hair music rules. 🤘😁🤘
I felt sorry for the band when tate disrespected the crowd the other guys must have been embarrassed
wheres part 1?
great show! Sad to see how things turned out in a few months...Also they cannot live forever only on the classics, their latest releases are so awful...but hell they know how to rock a stage!
is the audio out of sync for any one else?
3.45 - 4.50 was the best part. And Silent of course
The beginning of the end....
.the warning lp. is the best !
Go La Torre!,,
That's not Geoff Tate! That's Ming the Merciless!
Loved Tate when he was in his prime and didn't get all weird.
Lol! Ming! Lol..
Yes!
🤣🤣🤣
🤘😆🤘
Something must be seriously wrong when you lose almost your entire band including one that was part of the family at one time (Parker). Ok, yes Tate was QR and worked hard to build up the band. I respect him for his at one time amazing voice. "you guys suck" UNPROFESSIONAL. I have to tell you I saw the new lineup two days ago at Hampton Beach Casino and Todd was amazing, he was professional he has an awesome voice, this band is tight and they blew the roof off the casino. Plus, they are writing new music that is equally as amazing. I stood there all night with my jaw on the floor because they blew me away. If you haven't seen the new lineup yet, I believe you are doing yourself a real disservice. Change is sometimes a good thing!
People who say "Tate was QR" upset me :I
ITMeCE True. Degarmo was QR, too.
Everyone, in the band, is Queensryche.
DeGarmo and Tate are not in the band anymore. They were the key songwriter and the key lyricist. The remaining members are like The Beatles without Lennon and McCartney.
+Kimmy Davis This audience DID suck - they're completely lame and unenthusiastic. Tate just told it like it was.
Silent Lucidity sounds super nasally 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@2004JustBe Taint was NOT the founding member - DeGarmo, Wilton, Rockenfield and Jackson in fact, were!
Actually, this was the very last performance of the old line-up of the band (after the notorious spitting incident in Brazil), and it's so completely absymal that it almost made me cry. Geoff Tate in his prime was one of the best vocalists I've ever heard in my entire life, delivering live performances of unequaled perfection, but the guy I remember from the late 90's (or even the early 00's) has absolutely nothing in common with the washed-up has-been that's jerking around on this stage. I really think he might be drunk or something, because partially he sounds like a deadbeat version of Kermit the frog. Just compare these Rocklahoma renditions (and especially "Silent Lucidity" or "Eyes of a Stranger") to any live recording from before 2005 and you'll instantly know, what I mean. :/
+HolySaintBooty He still sounds really good here, especially for being 52 - many Rock and Metal singers lose their range by the time they hit their early 40's. Also, singer and musicians respond to the audience's reaction - it's hard to get motivated and be at your peak when the crowd is completely lame and unenthusiastic like they are here.
HinjuRock the crowd is bored because Geoff was fucking boring.
He spit at Rockinfeld in this performance.
When?
He sand silent lucidity like he was under water
Perhaps we should all just wait for awhile. Cool down, let both parties sort themselves out. Listen to what they have to offer. That´s the main thing anyway! Perhaps we´ll eventually have two great bands, never mind what they call themselves.
See ya, Geoff.
