I feel like my soul speaks these words and sings them too but not as beautifully!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much Cynthia for sharing your wonderful voice!!!!!!!!
Some one just requested this for a funeral tomm and I’m delighted but humbled to sing this. Why haven’t I ever heard this song before and Cynthia is killing it! Absolutely beautiful.....
This recording is my all time favorite “Christian art song”. Max Lyall whoever you are, you are a genius! This accompaniment is on the level of Schumann, Brahms and Wolf. The fact you improvised this puts you on a level that blows my mind. I will NEVER tire of listening to this masterpiece.
Max Lyall passed away a few years ago. He was an absolutely unparalleled accompanist! When I was growing up my minister of music was Max’s brother Guy. I had several opportunities to have Max accompany me when I sang. Max made every soloist feel like they belonged in The Met. It didn’t matter what key or, if you didn’t have full range that morning he would transpose lower and play as if it was meant to be. Max taught at two seminaries: Louisville and Golden Gate. His mantra to his students was to make the soloist shine in the best possible fashion. The most difficult thing for me, when Max accompanied, was just listening to him play; I wanted to stop singing and just listen! He was a fine Christian man..
This just takes my breath away! I am totally addicted to this song. This was one of those special moments in life when I heard something very special, unforgetful, and life-changing. I wonder why I have never heard this song sung in churches before. Absolutely beautiful, heavenly, and celestial! I was transported into a world of infinite dreams.
Thank You for uploading this hymn!

why not sung in modern church -- ? ... Because it's serious, solemn and really makes one think of the truth, and get real with God?!
Wow!
