Outer tie rods, sometimes referred to as “tie rod ends,” connect the steering rack to the steering knuckle. Their joints can wear out over time, causing loose steering, vibrations, and uneven tire wear. They are also a common failure point in localities with safety inspections. This video shows you how to install new TRQ outer tie rods on your 1988-2002 GMC K1500.

All very nice except >>>>>> You measured outside joint to outside joint. Depending on Brands, that measurement may vary greatly. Try measuring from center to center of the ball joint for better accuracy!

Regardless of what make of car/truck. When you replace rods they should be the same as previous rods. So it doesn't make a difference. Measuring eye to eye is what is said to be more specific, but i disagree because the tie rods are usually not perpendicular to each other so measuring eye to eye is more of a ballpark measurement. Besides you're going to take vehicle for alignment.

Sleeve opening should be 90° off of from sleeve clamps that hold it together, having them all same direction weakens joint l, especially in offroad application
