    I'm Thai and I just wanted to share that when I was growing up, pad kaprao seasoning was dashes of fish sauce and perhaps a little sugar and nothing else. No oyster sauce, no soy sauce and definitely no dark soy sauce - those were for Thai-Chinese dishes only. As for garnishes, you could add a few tomato slices as well. More veggie with your meal that way.

    I've been looking for a great fried rice recipe for a while, but the flavour is never right. Search is over with this one, we now make it at least twice a month. Amazing!

    This looks so yummy! I'm making it tomorrow, so simple and flavorful!! I'm hoping mine turns out this yummy. My favorite Thai place closed down from the pandemic and I never could find spicy basil fried rice like they made, so I just told myself that I can make it!!! Thanks for this simple but wonderful recipe!

    Absolutely delicious. Was super easy and quick to make but had so much flavour. I used firm tofu crumbs instead of shrimp and it turned out amazing. Will try out with shrimp or chicken next time. I have followed quite alot of your recipes and they all turn out fantastic. Thank you for sharing such flavourful and easy recipes. Love you Marion! 🥰

    Chillies, garlic, salt: create a fine paste.
    Cut onions.
    1 bowl of basil.
    Oyster sauce,Soy sauce,Sugar: mix all these.
    🙂Add oil in a pan. Add onions. Then add chilli & garlic paste we made earlier. 😊Add prawns or chicken. Once the prawns/chicken are cooked, add in the pre-booked rice.
    😊After a few minutes, add basil.
    😊 season with cucumber, spring onions.
    😊 Thank you 😚

  • @lerchan
    @lerchan 5 лет назад +8

    I love that you do things traditionally like putting sugar in to balance the saltiness or fry the shrimp with onions and garlic. I’ve been seeing western method where they fry the protein separately to control doneness. well there’s a pro to that but that’s not for me. Plus you have to clean one more plate for that.

    • @lerchan
      @lerchan 5 лет назад

      Oh also love that you thought all this through, not only salt helps to break down chili fiber but also helps seasoning the shrimp and onion. Because stir fry sauce generally gets poured in straight to the rice. So all elements well seasoned . perfect.

    I just made and ate this dish and the flavors are epic! I used all veggies, asparagus, sea mushrooms, red onion, broccoli and red peppers. Divine. The chilis are crazy hot. I love them! I've always refrigerated my Asians seasonings after opening the bottles. Is that necessary? Thanks for the best recipes on RUclips.

    Delicious! I do add bell peppers to mine and fry an egg in with my rice but other than that, exactly the same. So yummy! Leave out the chili pepper if you don't like heat or you can use red chili flakes to a minimum if you like a little but not a lot. So good!!!

    I do not have a gas burner or gas stove to heat /cook with my WOK.
    I only have a flat top electric stove top. Can I still make this fried rice recipe in my wok using the heat from my electric burner to heat my wok?
    Or is it recommended to buy a separate butane gas burner?
