- The Interrupters performing a cover of 'A Message To You Rudy' featuring Horace Panter live at the Birmingham O2 Institute on 02.09.2022
So great to hear this. Wonderful that people are still interested in the music of the late 70s and one of the greatest bands - Le Specials. This came off the album I wore out playing back in 1980.
You are the lucky ones: the Interrupters playing together with the legends, and the audience witnessing that event.
lovely song, still after all these years. keeps my mind young
So fun, The Specials from my generation, and that awesome band The Interrupters that was the fave of my passed friend Kyle Kuznov Dineen, RIP Kyle and also RIP Terry Hall
Horace is a fucking gem. He let me hang back stage after a Specials gig in Philly about 10 years ago and was such an awesome host.
RIP Terry Hall
💕
See this band at beautiful days this year they blew the other bands away
OMG, watched them at Brixton, that was brilliant, but this, looks and sounds amazing.
Wow. Great video. Legend Horace and legends of the future
Fantastic,a part of growing up for me👍👍
Superb.
Horace Panter is king of ska bass 🤘🏽😎
love this, to think these guys weren't even born when these songs were in UK charts
Their knowledge of these bands and their reverence of it is remarkable. So successful, so talented but so humble - they totally acknowledge the help they got from Tim Armstrong - but also the legacy of bands like The Specials and Madness. Maybe that’s why they visit us in the U.K. so often?
@@Yorksbloke They have been listening to this their whole lives. Definitely loved it as high school students.
You mean 1967 when Dandy Livingstone did it originally...very much doubt it 😁
Horace Panter is one of the all time greatest bassists in music history, and good to see him out and about while we lost the rest.
I keep watching the Specials appearance on David Letterman show doing Nite Club with his great bass solo, five star musician!
This is amazing. Thank you for this video!
RIP Terry Hall!

Terry Hall😪
A voir...
The Ska genre is still alive and kicking, always wondered about the lyrics, message to Rudi. Is this Rudi the Red, the far left wing political person. Any clues?
rudy is a rudeboy
This ain't ska. It's reggae.
@@augsburgerpunker4330 It couldn't be more obviously ska.
Rudi=Rude boy. Rudeboys were a Ska lovin' youth sub group, in the same way as Punks, Skins and Mods etc had their music. The name came from Jamaican street culture of the 1960s but this song is about the late 70s revival of Ska fans. This may explain- ruclips.net/video/bX8USu78E7E/видео.html
@@acampbell8614 thank you sir. i was unawares
P
I doubt Terri would've been impressed. I sure as hell wasn't.
👍🏻
Sterling stuff but also shows how damn good The Specials were because their version is WAAAY better no?!
Oh dear
No blacks in the band.
🤔🤭🤭🤭
I’m sure if you ask them nicely they will put one in just for you.
Horace looks embarrassed.... pretty crappy version.
All worship at the alter of Ska.. but this just doesn't work.
