What's the best horror comedy you've ever seen? I'm rolling with Shaun of the Dead!

Shaun of the Dead is a very good choice. I’ll go a little older and say An American Werewolf in London. On taste and tone in horror comedy, have you ever seen Cat Person? Just watched on Hulu. Looked at reviews after on RT and one said: It’s kind of a mess, but at least it’s a fascinating mess. Another said this is a highly intelligent, finely-acted, astutely-written and directed, well-shot (cinematographer Manuel Billeter) film that will leave questions in your mind well after the credits roll. I think both are right. That’s how hard horror comedy is to pull off.
May need to check this one out, great review man!

I suppose my favorite horror comedy would either be Return of the Living Dead or The Frighteners . Great video as always man.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it! I also really liked it. Felt that Tim Burton vibe and the quirky vibe just worked for me. The 10 minutes before the third act were very clunky and rushed plot points was my only nit pick. Great review! 👏🏻

I'm glad you like it as much as you did.....and now I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. lol My girlfriend and I both absolutely hated it. Like, it was painful to sit through. We both love Juno and Jennifer's Body though, so I thought this would be more up our alley.

My favorite movie that blends genres is "The Cabin in the Woods" (which I'm sure you've seen)--horror + sci-fi + absurdist meta comedy! 💯
Absolutely love that movie, one of my favorites. Will never forget watching that one in the theater on opening night!

Horror Comedy: Destroy All Neighbors. Saw Lisa Frankenstein Monday night at #AMCscreamunseen and when I realized what movie it was going to be (since $5 surprise) I almost started clapping and my wife said, you knew it (which I didn’t but she heard me talking it up before). I left disappointed. If I had to put my finger on it: 1) didn’t know what it wanted to be and then failed in being anything 2) way too many jokes fell flat. Almost like I wanted a laugh track to kick in to cover the awkwardness 3) I didn’t know Robin William’s daughter so I feel bad saying it but I blame this this first time Director for a tone that was all over the place. Watch Destroy All Neighbors, less budget, more laughs and gore. I really wanted this to be good!!

You are still my favorite film reviewer even if we don’t agree all the time. Your points are always still valid, just different opinions or tastes maybe sometimes. I hope Lisa Frankenstein does well this weekend. Not many options so may grab enough youth market, maybe date money, maybe horror comedy fans. I really like the female lead and she’s going to continue to have a great career.

Didnt like the first twenty minutes… its a stretch… then they hurried it off… they shouldve take time with the transformation than the first twenty minites. But the all in all will watch again

I honestly felt nothing original about this movie. It's a culmination of many movies like you mentioned but I don't think it sticks the landing. Some lady walked out of my theater halfway through and never came back and I was nearly about to follow her lead. Comedy is already hard enough to direct but that clash of tones needs to be executed by an established director. I give Zelda Williams kudos for the attempt but it ultimately felt like an old school Disney Channel original film with a pg 13 rating.
Imagine thinking camp means Disney. There’s tons of originality in this film. You sound like a lazy film person. This film was fun and bonkers.

Definitely a cult classic, hopefully people find it on streaming and give it more love because we need more films like this that are weird and bonkers from people like Zelda Williams
Sorry I got to this video late, but I'm glad you liked this film. To me, it's looked like a streaming film from all the marketing and trailers, so I think I'll skip seeing this one in theatres and wait for its digital release down the line. Great Review!
I didn’t like this one at all. The pacing was to slow, the comedy didn’t land and the lack of score and poor audio at times drove me nuts.
