Fun fact: In the comics Static has never been shown to "run out of juice". That only happens in the show. In fact, in the comics his body recharges on it's own so he doesn't need an external source like he does in the show.

A: Miles can't absorb everything instantly and instead drains it at a certain rate.
B: Miles in the movie only showed off the ability to absorb the electricity from Machines, not attacks.

Minor correction:
Pete didn't sense Miles while camouflage because his spider sense didn't recognize him as a threat. Doesn't mean he can't be detected.
Peter in that same comic didn't know about Miles venom blast and wasn't trying to hurt him, nor was Miles vice versa. The scuffle was a misunderstanding and they were trying to interrogate each other. Calling that loss "beating the crap out of Peter" is stretching it.

The sole point, with an emphasis on said only thing, that would make this episode higher on my top ten Death Battle episodes, is if they put Vergil's catchphrase right before he finished off Miles. Here's the exact part I mean @ 15:03. Static: Plasma coil. If you haven't noticed, this electric biz is kinda my thing. Care to guess why?! 'Cause the name... is.. STATIC!!! (Virgil smiles as he begins charging his ultimate attack, the Nova Burst.) And I'm about to put a shock to yo' system. Miles: Aw man...
Or if after this electric biz is kinda my thing he said his catchphrase from the show; "I'll put a shock to your system"
Static shock is one of my favorite characters in the entire DC universe! I grew up with show, such an amazing show to come out during the early 2000s.

Dude, TNT equivalency is a basic power scaling term that you literally cannot escape if you've been in the versus community long enough. It's literally one of the ways you measure energy output.

Static has the potential to be for DC what Spiderman is Marvel. A young upcoming hero who looks up to the pros and has the potential to be one of the strongest one day. He just needs solid writers and a new show with a decent budget.

They’re pretty busy just trying to keep their public image up in a medium like movies. Hopefully JL Snyder Cut and more upcoming DC movies will be good enough to pump out solo movies for characters, one of which can be Static Shock
DC's problem is that they don't fully own the Milestone characters. Milestone Media does.

Honestly, both marvel and dc have been sleeping on these actually great characters. Not so much Miles anymore, but both Static Shock and Blue Beetle are great, ORIGINAL characters with a unique esthetic and amazing personality. People are so focused on making already established characters “inclusive” that they end up sacrificing good writing and originality. Like, DC has it’s own, original characters that have potential to both entertain and lovingly represent a specific demographic WHILE having a well-thought-out storyline and character arc.
Both Marvel and DC have always been inclusive. You've got black heroes like Cyborg and Powerman, homosexuals like Obsidian and Iceman, and I don't even know how many heroines. I seriously don't get it.

I like Miles as a character more, he’s one of my favorite characters, but anybody whose read a bunch of Milestone knows Static is super powerful and potentially one of if not eventually the most powerful person on the planet. I ride with Miles all day but common sense dictates Static is just more powerful.

I think the reason why they got picked was because of their similar publication history. Two teenages black superheroes who got uprooted from their respective universes to each be put in the “main” universes of their respective multiverses.

The animation is extra expressive, and looks good, I will give them that, but some things just seem a bit much. I mean, Wiz has the original Movie Sonic's teeth!

I seriously underestimated Static. I only know about the animated series (so underrated btw), and didn't know just how much control he had over his powers. I knew Miles was automatically much stronger physically, but it doesn't really matter once you have no means of disrupting a guy who can control your source of power. Static is always gonna be one of my top 10 comic heroes, and this just confirmed how much of a badass he is
and to top it off, most of the feats and information were taken from the show and not the comics.
He's a top member of the Titans and JLA and they barely scratched the surface on what he's accomplished.
After I watched this video in its entirety, these are my thoughts exactly.

Static really wasn't, though. In physical strength and durability, Miles is WAY stronger, and they both have feats of dodging FTL attacks. Static won for two reasons, 1) his electric-aura powers were a perfect counter for Miles' wall-climbing and camouflage, just like how Nightwing's sonic batarangs could counter Daredevil's super senses, 2) Static's powers are more versatile and can better fight from a distance while Miles pretty much has to get up close.
@@mrreyes5004 Wiz himself said Static literally only had to hit him once to win. Miles' physical endurance doesn't matter at all when Static just counters pretty much everything else he has completely. There is no contest.

They have a history of putting characters against each other where one is incredibly more powerful then the other just because they seem to have something in common. Such as the Venom vs Bane fight. Both big guys...ignore the fact one is massively superhuman in every regards and other is barely stronger then a peak human when using his drugs.

At first, the redesigns for Wiz and Boomstick is worse. But, really glad that these designs really grows on me and became used to it later.

I didn't get that so much from this one - nothing against Morales, I just never saw any of his stuff. But I definitely get this feeling having had it about some other battles.
@@mikem2849 Oh yeah, before the spider-verse movie he wasn't that well known of a character unless you either loved spiderman to a T, or you just went really deep into all kinds of different storylines that actually involved him at some point

Static in future DC animated or live action series is up to what Milestone Media will allow as they own the character and after Dwayne McDuffie passed who knows how good the relationship is between the two companies. Hell Milestone was supposed to relaunch a year or two ago with their own earth in the DC Multiverse.
