Why does everything in youtube comments have to be "best line in music history"? Or something along those lines. Can't it just be a great line without resorting to exaggerating?
When I was a young man, I loved this song for its musical qualities. Now that I'm an old man, I love it for its lyrics. If I live another 10 years, I'm sure I'll love it equally for both.
The best part of being my age is that I have had at least 45 years years of listening to Bob Seger songs! Many of life's experiences are in those songs and this one took me back to high school, when the winds were mostly favorable. Thanks for the memories! ❤😊
Thanks, guys! such a beautiful song... Bob Seger has so many evocative compositions... appreciate all of your reactions (and also your deep analysis of some of the lyrics and themes!)... Of course, I look forward to more from you...
The piano on this track just moves it up another notch - I don't know who plays it, but the mixed feelings that it evokes of regret and nostalgia is really beautiful.
❤❤ FAMOUS FINAL SCENE by Bob Seger...I sing it occasionally at karaoke. I told my husband that when i pass on, I'd only want him to have a party at home, with our friends, with a nice bonfire, and plenty of beer, and if this isn't on the playlist, I AIN'T GOING ! 🤣
Been waiting a long...long time to hear your reactions to one of my favorite Bob Seger songs. Once again you guys are SPOT ON! Guess that's why your the BEST! 😁❤❤✌️
A perfect song for the youth we all had and decisions that we made in that time of our lives. So many paths that we take, some lead us forward some make us turn around and start again. For myself I was fortunate to meet and marry the one love of my life and between us we found the right path for us to travel together..Love like you 2 have is beautiful and to share your journey of music with you both is a pleasure I am happy about. TY for sharing your journey and the clear love you have, it makes me smile to see others like myself deeply and truly in love with each other and music. Keep Safe Keep Strong 🦘🦘🦘🦘❤❤❤❤🎵🎵🎶🎶🎵🎵
" I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then" is one of the best sentences written in rock history! Actually this song has many of the best lyrics written in rock, Plus youth is wasted on the young!
I've always felt that the lyric "Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then" is referring to the loss of innocence that comes when you find out that the people you thought were your friends reveal that they wouldn't come to help you when you needed help, or that they would desert you once the party ended. You didn't know they couldn't be relied on, and it hurt when you had that knowledge shoved in your face. Or in the case of Janey, how she swore that their relationship wouldn't end.
He is my favorite singer Bob Seger has a song for every mood you might be in. Thanks for sharing glad you like him too❣️ My husband’s grandmother always said it’s no fun getting old.
@@Straydogger I have three older siblings, two sisters and a brother, both my sisters passed at very young ages, I am 62 my body feels it but my brain feels young. Always remember to love yourself and cherish your memories. ❣️
This song makes me feel the 80's, My love of his music keep me grounded, l loved too much Disco and new wave 80's music, and then there was Bob Seger 😅 his music was from the heart ❤️. Peace✌️ and Love❤ your 70 year old forever Young Hippie Gary😊 Great Reaction👍😮
It's such a fabulous song, both lyrically & musically , with amazing svocals and torytelling. And it doesn't hurt to have the great Glenn Frey on backing vocals.
So many great songs by Bob Seger still to be experienced! 😊 One of his best story songs you haven't done yet is "Mainstreet". Or, for some live music, try "Travelin' Man/Beautiful Loser" from the "Live Bullet" album. Anything you choose, you can't go wrong with Bob! 👍
Just discovered you two, and I love you both so much! ❤ you got the message immediately on this one, and I’m so grateful for all of your own personal feelings and insights you gave us! 😊
She is right!!! lol It does suck to be older and growing older...paying bills .... aches and pains in the body and mind that come up that is never come up before. it sucks....but it;s time....and time is a ticking......Life and living this life is constantly against the wind and there is nothing we as humans can do about it!
I love Bob Segar great artist,I have suggested Bob Segars song's "Travelin Man"/"Beautiful Loser" 2 song's done live back to back, the last time I'm suggesting it I already have about 6 time's now 🤦♂️
Love what you two do! I am now a subscriber watching the both of you and your reactions from here in Missouri, United States. Great job, great channel. 👍👍
Even my mother loved to dance to bob🥴😎 good music. Makes me think back to when i was a much younger man.. . Live while ur alive friends.. time goes by soo fast🥴 …. Dan. North fl
If the wind represents life's challenges, running against it represents that these challenges are getting in the way of our happiness and we resent that. Then, running with the wind would represent that we accept the challenges of life without naming them good, or bad, they are as natural to our existence as breathing. All The Best!
Looking back on my life at 80 I wonder " How the hell did I get through all of that ?" If I had to start all over again with the knowledge of what was coming , I don't know if I could face it all . Yes , often ignorance is bliss
Your dismay at being an adult, reminded me of a FaceBook meme I saw the other day: "I understand being a responsible adult - but every day? Every single day? That seems a little excessive" 😂
"The Wayward Wind" (1955-56) sung by Gogi Grant hit No 1 on both the Cash Box charts and the Billboard charts, remaining No. 1 for 5-6 weeks on both, getting kicked off the perch by Elvis Presley's "Heartbreak Hotel". You'll be glad you heard "The Wayward Wind" by Gogi Grant as opposed to one of the several covers.
Well said. And so true. When you're young, time is fluid, with never ending possibilities. And as you get older, time seems to move faster, more static. It's the circle of life.
Seger often hits differently as you get older.
"Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then." Best line in music history and late in life. ❤
💯
If I'm ever asked about favorite song lyrics, this one's always on my list! Struck me like lightning when I first heard it.
You ain’t kidding either.

An Incredible voice, songwriter, a kick-ass loyal band, and decades of hits = A much deserving One Way trip Into the Rockin Roll Hall of Fame.

Unique American Artist…that can’t be imitated! Fantastic story teller…a movie in your thoughts! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍🙏✝️❤️🇺🇸
Bob is the real deal. Great lyricist, great song writer, great storyteller, great musician, great vocalist. The sound of a generation.
The best part of being my age is that I have had at least 45 years years of listening to Bob Seger songs! Many of life's experiences are in those songs and this one took me back to high school, when the winds were mostly favorable. Thanks for the memories! ❤😊

"It sucks to be old" ... no truer words have ever been spoken!
The piano on this track just moves it up another notch - I don't know who plays it, but the mixed feelings that it evokes of regret and nostalgia is really beautiful.
I just looked it up myself. Paul Harris played piano and organ on this track. He passed away October of last year at the age of 78.
@@KyleS.1987 Thanks for that info, Kyle, he played it beautifully!
@@KyleS.1987 Looked it up, did the orchestral parts of The Doors Soft Parade album.
The keyboard also put a great melancholy mood to the song.
This song is monumentally important to me. Thank you for such a nice reaction to this wonderful song.
So many iconic lines in this song. "What to leave in .... What to leave out ...." Hard reality as you age.

Love Bob &, as many others have commented, his music & hits more as you get older. Another great reaction you two lovely people.
Love this song. It's along the same lines as Night Moves,
Bob was great at writing introspective look back songs.

Bob Seger's storytelling is like watching a 3-D movie in your head. He is one of dozens of storytellers from that era!
Youth is wasted on the young. They don't know its value. Thanks for sharing! ☮💜🎶
Just what I was going to say. ☮🖤🤘

Nice reaction guys, you definitely got your analysis right about this song. Lighten up...lol.. life is good even if your running against the wind.
Thank you. You are so right 💚
One of the sayings that have stuck with me about youth and age is that "Youth is wasted on the young". This saying only makes sense when we are older.
Most of us are running against the wind. And most of us know it.
This is my lifes theme song
The lyrics kinda reminds me of Jackson Browne's Running on empty.
I'm subscribed to a lot of Reactors, but you two are my favorites, wise, deep, soulful and loving. 💙💙💙
Wow, thank you! Much love from Romania 💚
