So thankful you made a long form video for this! I can’t wait to finally read The Secret History this year (and several other books on this list). Currently reading Babel and loving it.
As a non-classics nor lit fic girlie I love coming onto your channel to learn about these genres! Fun fact Frankenstein is my favorite classic even though it took me 7 MONTHS to read!
This is a fantastic list, and an excellent introduction to you. You've convinced me to give Wurhering Heights another go. If you've not read Wide Sargasso Sea, I highly reccomend after hearing you talk about Jane Eyre. It completely changed how I saw the book, and I love them both dearly.
I feel the same way about the Brontës. Jane Eyre is still my favourite book. I re-read it recently before visiting the Brontë parsonage museum in Haworth. It is an incredible place to go if you love their books ❤
I read I who have never known men in august because of you and gave it 4.25 stars!!! absolutely loved it, writing was beautiful, story was amazing... but I did want at least some answers! I think about it every day though x
True, that book left me wondering! Then when I looked at it from a more philosophical standpoint, I realized it can be viewed as a metaphor for our lives!!❤
Lea, you put *so* much work into this!! Outstanding Autumn recommendation list! I've read a LOT of these and I think I agreed with you on all of them - other than Mrs. S. I am always looking for well told sapphic stories but I had so many problems with Mrs. S. Honestly, I DNF'd it - but after I had read about two thirds of the book. Anyway, I did get a *lot* of great books added to my Autumn TBR thanks to this video. :)
omg, such a wonderful video!! you did a huge work, thank you so much for all of these amazing autumnal recs🍂📖💛 i’m omw to buy “rouge” by mona awad! love your channel so much, you inspire me & my friends a lot !!🥰🥰
hey léa, awesome recs!! i know this would be different to your content but considering that you studied english literature at uni i am guessing you did so at A level as well? i’m in my final year and i want to ensure i do well in my exams haha and i was wondering if you could make a guide to how to pass with good results e.g. just judging by how you review and interpret books you are really intelligent and hopefully you could help students like myself with A level lit in passing. thanks for all you do!! ❤
This was the ULTIMATE book recommendation video! Loved so many of these and wrote several down to get as fast as humanely possible
100 books in 45 minutes? SLAY!!!!!
I read Watch Over Me last year and absolutely adored it for all the reasons you mentioned! The link between ghosts and trauma? Chef’s kiss
I recently finished Cackle by Rachel Harrison. It had the perfect autumnal vibe and I found it empowering.
i will never love a book as much as I loved Rebecca, the perfect autumnal read!!!
