    Thank you, I am 76 and my main hobby is hiking
    my Dr inserted the pessary and said to come back in a year.
    It fell out the first time I went to the toilet
    I don't like bothering people so your information was important for me to get on with it myself and start getting out there again thank you

    As a 55 year old, relatively new pessary wearer, from Scotland, this was super helpful. I found you on tiktok of all places. I have a donut as anything bigger was uncomfortable - not much choice here. Sometimes it feels like it moves position. Might need the next size up. Had it in for over 6 months. Can't take it out myself. Wish there were people like you in Scotland. This was a great clip. Gonna see about buying the cream but have atrophy and LS so worry it might irritate it more. But honestly thanks for your clip👍

      Thank you very much! I am glad that this was helpful. I appreciate your comments greatly. One thing to consider is seeing a nurse practitioner b/c they tend to have more time to speand with you. Good luck!

      I would say to try the ring with Support first. If it doesn't work, then try the inflatable doughnut. An enterocele is essentially another term for vaginal vault prolapse after hysterectomy, if your uterus was removed.

    Best explanation yet. Thank you. Yes the donut is a small torture device. I suffered with one for over a year. I did manage to insert it and remove it myself. But yikes. What is your opinion of the inflatable donut? I dread going in for a fitting. The time I did go for a fitting was horrendous. I left with the donut. For me it is enterocele and I can't find a whole lot of information about dealing with it specifically. I am thinking of trying a ring with support because of the possibility of ease of self care and maintenance. Thank you.

      Yes, it really works well for women who are pregnant and have bladder leakage upon exertion. Many time this bladder problem goes away after they delivery their baby.

    Does the pessary need to sit behind the pubic bone? Mine falls into the vaginal canal and idk if that means it’s not the right fit. My OB follow up is months away unfortunately

    I got a nasty cold right after I got a pessary put in and I’m not sure if it’s in there exactly right how will I know? I know when I cough I have to pee instantly. It was for a uterine prolapse

    • @TheVaginacologist

      By placing your fingers inside of your vagina. Likely the pessary unkinked your urethra, leading to a need to pee or leak upon coughing.

    • @TheVaginacologist
      @TheVaginacologist  Год назад +1

      @@Pia1870. It is unlikely that the pessary is the cause of your pain. However, if you are able to manage the pessary, take it out and see if your pain resolves. If you are unable to manage it, return to the office for an exam. You can purchase a pessary assistant on Amazon, which helps you remove and insert the pessary.

    I’m 63 & extremely active. Tried 2 sizes of pessarys. Both were ok, at first, but ended up inching down. It wasn’t hard inserting or removing.
    My problem is that the vagina is prolapsed.
    The urodynamic part, of this, is a form of torture.

    • @TheVaginacologist
      @TheVaginacologist  2 месяца назад

      Please know that the UDS is not a form of torture. It is embarassing, but should not hurt and provides a lot of important information...

      @@TheVaginacologist Having things inserted in every orifice below the waist was not pleasant. Peeing into a waiting funnel on top of a raised throne was not dignified. Having tape ripped off your inner thigh was jolting. From what I have heard, this will be repeated after surgery. I’d rather have a colonoscopy.
      Perhaps “torture” was too harsh.
      However, I was not embarrassed.
      Of course, this is only my opinion.

    • @laurak1962

      Maybe a silly question - for the ring with support insertion - does it matter which way you insert it after you fold it? Your way looked "upside down" from what my Dr showed me when he placed it.

    • @TheVaginacologist
      @TheVaginacologist  2 месяца назад

      @@laurak1962 It does not matter the way you insert it as it is round.
