- After Humanity's brush with extinction during the Earthsiege, the people of Earth begin to slump into despair and turn away from
technology. Almost single-handedly, Petresun would drag humanity out of the pit and forge "The Great Human Empire" to fight the Cybrids for when they would inevitably return.

Shazbot!
Wait, wasn't the whole point of the Methuselah Project that you could put your mind into a new body when your old one got too worn out? Couldn't Emperor Petreson just clone himself a new body or something?
If I remember right it's explained in the short story "The Defection of Harabec". Petresun kept his body as penance for failing to stop Prometheus before it started The Fire, and because of his fears of Cell Memory Drift if he got shoved into a new body.
They also mentioned in that story about using cloned bodies for Immortals, but the reason why they couldnt just clone a younger version of Petresun that could potentially minimize CMD was never explored.
@@MacsLore Okay, that checks out. I think.
I have no idea what Cell Memory Drift is.
Great idea for a mini-villain for a side story
@@RelativelyBest Basicly cybernetic alzheimers their memories become disjointed due to celldegeneration and the brain pretty much becomes a vegtable over time.
I'm so glad I found this channel. You make delivering the mail for my job something to look forward to
One thing that always stuck out to me from this part of the history is that referendum. Mostly because on the one hand, Petreson would have all the means and every motive to rig that referendum. Yet on the other hand, it is reasonable to say he could win just as overwhelmingly, legitimately. I imagine it is something that would be debated forever without resolution, as the only people who might truly know would be Petreson himself and maybe a handful of the immortal brotherhood. (And I imagine they would have their doubts no matter what Petreson said on the matter.)
Awesome lore, thanks dude!
Very good video dude!
Loving the lore videos, keep it up, very interesting since the game was multiplayer only
A lot of this lore is heavily influenced by early 40K Lore. Even the artwork is of an identical style to the period's 40K style.
Especially the immortal emperor hooked up to tubes and stuck in a single spot
I dunno, not enough spikes and skulls everywhere
Digging how it’s different in more ways. Starsiege’s Empire has more of an old-fashioned focus on chivalry, nobility, knights.
Gotta say I am stealing Turkizakistan for a thing I am doing the name is a bit silly lol
