@majorcbasshow tf do they all "look the same" & "all cover the same topic" you mean highlighting our history & struggles us as Chicanos went through. Just say you're racist & go
Chicano stands for Mexican American It's a people who have been in the South West when it was Mexican territory latinos from south America and Caribbean don't have to do with. The historical Mexican American symbolism in the U.S especially in the South West there is a historical boundary which Dose not include other latinos.
More like Inspiration to us Mexican Americans born and raised in the 🇺🇸 we may not be good at speaking Spanish but we are passionate about our Mexican culture.
@@lilianamedina1724 Exactly, thank you. I'm in Mexico. I AM Mexican. You all are Americans and while you're proud of where your people come from- you all don't speak and think and talk like me. Two TOTALLY different cultures.
@@edyann Exactly, Mexicans and chicanos are diffrent people, but we still have Mexican blood flowing through our vains and we are proud to have Mexican roots. I'm thankful to have been raised in a mexican where my parents kept the Mexican house hold and kept the culture alive. Heck, I eat Nopales, make tortillas and much more. Soy mas ranchera at heart ❤️ even though I was born in the US
So very proud to have this world class collection here in downtown Riverside! The current show by the De La Torre brothers closes in January, try not to miss it! It is epic!!!
I remember this place when it was a library. It was an amazing three story library. I am glad the building is being put to use and not being abandoned.
We don't leave this world with anything. Cheech's Legacy will live on for centuries maybe millennium. Thanks for the laughs Cheech and the love you have provided to this world.
I introduced Chicano art to my art professor in college after seeing that many of the students were bored of listening to lectures about European artists. I forwarded her a link to the documentary, and she had the class watch it. Everyone was smiling because they felt some representation in the art that was shown, especially the murals and lowrider cars.
Cheech Marin has the largest privately owned collection of mesoamerican artifacts. I saw him as a guest professor at Stanford and it was one of the best classes I ever attended.
I bought a book of his collection about 12 years ago called Chicano art and I saw alot of familiar pieces, the car crash piece and zoot suit riot were some of my favorites😀
I went to museum a few weeks ago. It’s fabulous. It is truly inspiring for all artists. Going back a few more times with friends, grandchildren, and crafting friends.
It actually looks amazing. He should be proud for how much he's educating people and putting the hispanic culture on display. You gotta give it to dude ‼️🙌 usually I'm not into this kind of stuff but it looks hella good
It is a wonderful experience! I completely recommend it to everyone! That Aztec piece in the lobby is 1 of my favorite. it's magical mesmerizing. You can sit or stand in front of it and find something different every time! If you've grown up in California of Mexican heritage traveling to Mexico or Tijuana, the art will give you nostalgia.
I love two blocks from this,it’s our old public library ,i haven’t had a chance to go yet ,it’s right across the street from our beautiful Mission Inn,come visit us ,now we have our spectacular Festival of Lights at The Mission Inn ,YOU WONT BE SORRY .
I have been to museums all over the world for over 50 years. The Cheech is one of my favorite museums! Even though the super talented artists are Chicano, the art is incredibly diverse. I find that the pieces tell deeper stories. For many of the pieces, there's even QR codes that send you to a link with a short video of Cheech explaining the piece.I drove 2 hours just to see the museum. If you are in the area, it's worth the drive.
Thank you Chong for putting the link to see Cheech's museum with the very diverse selection of Español Art. I enjoyed all of it, especially the Aztec piece that spins. Very nice 👌 👍.
De La Torre brothers are incredible. How they do large scale glass making art is beyond me. Because of Cheech Riverside is becoming a great community to live in and enjoy. There are so many improvements even with the college, which has expanded. Riverside has so many wonderful places to visit. Before Cheech's museum one great place to visit is Tio's Tacos. They have a patio of pure recycled art , it makes for a interesting place to visit and have drink or a meal. #tiostacos
Man time is flying, this man is a legend, sad to see him age. . . . . We all age obviously but still, life is a trip, we all grew up on some classics like Up in Smoke! Stumbled upon this museum, driving by, about a month ago, by a quick half hour visit to Riverside to see the hotel. It was neat, gotta go back and see the inside.
Very nice, would like to visit. Adam Corolla would always bash Riverside on the Loveline radio show back in the day, but it looks like a good place to live.
I looked up to Cheech growing up...then I met him. I was genuinely disappointed how he acted torrwards me. Like I wasn't even human. Chong is way better. An actual nice person
This looks great. If you're ever in Chicago visit the Mexican Museum of Art. It's great as well.
In pilsen next to Harrison park
I live in Chicago, I would like to visit it.
Gorgeous art. Impressive, complex diversity of all formats represented . Each speaking their story strengths

Reminds me of the stoic quote "luck happens when preparation meets opportunity. I believe it was Seneca that said it.❤️
