    I was literally listening to this (audiobook) today, on my drive into work.
    FYI, the audiobook is read by Geddy (with a few pages read by Alex), which not only sounds awesome because it's Geddy, but really helped me get the chapter 1 name pronunciations correct.

    Well. Alex reportedly also spat on an officer when he was arrested in Naples. I guess this confirms that story as well.

      After the vid cuts off he mentions how Alex sincerely apologized and they were allowed to return to the hotel again

      No, he didn't spit, he sprayed blood trying to breathe after they broke his nose - all charges were dropped, and two officers involved were fired or disciplined afterwards

    Hilarious. We never get to hear. The stories. Most guys just won't tell the the stories.

    1. I'm not sure this is super flattering.
    2. Makes me understand why Neil.

      Neil travelled separately because he was scared of flying and literally drove his motorcycle from show to show.

      It's not part of this audio, but there's another that starts earlier that explains Alex was not in great spirits, due to having a newborn son and missing his family, and not coping with it well. This isn't exactly a usual Rush road story, I believe Ged seized on it because they don't have many like these, unlike other bands.

    Geddy enough of this crap! Pick up that bass and get out and play! Its your strength, as McCartney said "its what we do!".

    If you have a family member that is an alcoholic, NOTHING about this is amusing........absolutely nothing.

    • @blueberrycobbler

      If stories about someone being drunk bothers you then maybe you shouldn’t watch videos with “Drunk” in the title? Maybe? Perhaps? Being drunk doesn’t always equate to being an alcoholic. Relax, Eddie.

    • @Issicra
      @Issicra 8 месяцев назад +5

      Eddie, my heart goes out to you. I'm a recovering alcoholic of 8 years. It's one thing when you yourself are causing your own destruction, but the pain you cause those around you that love you is really rough stuff. I'm sorry you have a family member that you have to deal with this with.
      That being said, it's ok to laugh at a funny story about a musician we appreciate. I was a hardcore drunk for years, and I'm lucky to be alive, and while drunk stories do hit a little different now, I can still find humor in them.

      Don't shoot the audio guy. Some auditoriums are designed without acoustics in mind. As in a lecture hall is not designed for musical concerts. Plus there is no audio peripheral device that can mitigate or negate echo in a live setting.

      @@peterresetz1960 That’s how the room sounds, you can’t change that. There’s nothing wrong with the sound coming out of the speakers.
