Thank you for this incredible method. I had previously ruined a crank bearing by trying to put it in the normal way, heating the cases with a blow torch and hammering the bearings with a bearing driver. After putting the cases In the oven and freezing bearings with dry ice, every single one just dropped in.

I did start a rebuild, but it's nothing glamorous so I"m not entering... but basically took an abandoned junked 70cc left in a high school shop that had been stripped down to almost nothing. I'm almost done with it and super excited to get my little boy on it. Found out only recently that it's a Lifan motor. The motor was actually way cleaner than I thought. Had a broken tooth on a gear, but no damage inside! It's probably only got a few miles on it. Waiting on some bushings now and need to find a front brake for it (common front calipers don't fit this weird fork leg...). Replaced everything except the motor, swingarm, forks, wheels, frame (which I sanded and painted).

could not firgure out how to get my output shaft bearing with that ring out and did not want to damage anything- ur the only guy that actually covered the bearing with the ring - thanks can finally get moving on the 94 kx250 rebuild. Much appreciated-
Just fully rebuilt a 1983 cr60 during this whole break. Got a pitbike race going down at my bosses house this Saturday and I’m hoping this 60 will smoke the 2020 110’s😂. Wish me luck
I used a map gas torch to do mine. Heat then a few taps with a socket on the bearing. When installing the new ones, heat the aluminum till it starts to sweat. Then, if you froze the bearings first, they drop right in.
I was wondering if anyone else has done it with out the oven method. Any issues doing it your way?
interesting to see a non yamaha engine go together and the variations of the same principles and the way the manufacturer alters the mechanism ie clutch actuator and shift . the last
3 yam engines i have built shift drum alignment has been critical and i saw a alignment dimple on yours that you didn’t seem to use, although it checked out in testing after the cases were together. last engine i built had bearings either end of drum that had to be heated and shift drum frozen, an absolute pain to do.
good work as usual had a more relaxed feel to it
This is an awesome build. I have the same bike(bought about 8 months ago), and unfortunately it is a roach lol. Kicks me out of third gear, so it's about to get a similar treatment but in a much longer time frame. Keep it up, man, these builds are freaking sweet!

Actually, it isn't SKF; it's SFK. They're fine, but not as good as SKF. Overall, great video! Never thought about using dry ice, but it looks like a great idea, especially if it's that inexpensive!!!
Agreed. SFK is a SKF knockoff brand (China).
on the bearings after dry ice, why not just return the cases to the oven (if you have one to use) to drive off the moisture...still lubricating them after of course? you have the best content on the tube. stay Pryme and be well.

Hello! It's very interesting what you do with aluminum so it doesn't oxidize after polishing. Maybe there is a special composition to protect against oxidation?

Can I also heat it with a gas torch butane instead of putting it in the oven? And for example, can I heat it up with a torch to remove the bearing with it and use it once it's hot to fit a new one? If you leave the bearings only in the freezer, does it work the same as ice? thanks

If you heat up the case. It should expand in all directions and then make the hole smaller

I use regular loaf bread and a punch to remove blind bearings but that puller is sweet to have 😂

No, the brand of the seals are SFK. Not the great SKF from Sweden. The SFK works good though, i have this seals in my companys rebuildkits.
After how many hours would you recommend to do the bottom end on KTM 300 EXC 2017
Rocky Mountain has a video all about that. It’s a ktm 300 exc but I don’t know the year.
The manual recommends every 80 hours or every 40 hours if used for Motorsports

You should build this bike fast, like buy all the whole top and bottom end rebuild kit and do it all at once

On thhe skf/sfk thing. You also stated in your CR250R build that the wrench rabbit kit contained koyo main bearings. They absolutely DO NOT. They must've put that kit together for you personally

SFK are actually taiwan made skf are the ones that make bearings & are quality made its like they have coped the name to mix people up ive actually got a brand new set of SFK seal's myself so would like to no if these actually hold up Cameron mine come in a packet that looks strangely similar to mitaka HI performance one's lol & they are quite handy them bearing puller sets ive got the same one myself

The crank shaft I bought had the bearings attached to it already. How would I get it in the case without wrecking the bearings that are on the crank already? I saw you video about putting the bearing in the case first then put the crank on but that’s not the way I can do it cause the crank came with the bearings attached to it already.

Good luck with the gear box, they made them from tin and often pack in after 1 or 2 meetings, Travis ate up all of the World's gear box parts stock and had to give up on Poosuki, you will wish you had done a CR500 in no time 😂
