When you backup/upload a photo into Google photos, it will be there even if you delete the photo from your phone. Awesome tutorial!!! I've had maybe close to over 3 maybe 4 years worth of photos and videos saved onto my SD card and the internal storage of my Samsung Note 8 and it's finally time to clear up some space. I'm backing up the photos to my computer right now and also using Google Photos but Google Photos is a lot more efficient and quicker. Can never have too many backups in this day and age lol.

This is the question I want answers to. Most likely not. What you described is a “Storage” but this cloud backup stuff is a sync feature which is replicated on many redundant servers..... so I don’t think it works the way you and I want it to, but then again this is just an assumption
Yes it does. Done it so many times. I don't even do it manually. I just wait for Google Photo to pop up the question "Backup and delete photos in your phone". I just follow the prompt to backup and delete my photos.

You will have to click on every picture you have then. Tap and hold a bunch of pictures in the Home Screen then 3 dots will appear at the top right then a little pop up menu will appear with a column that says back up. You have to turn auto sync off and individually click all your pictures to do it.

The pfp has dots around it, it means that there is still photo’s that are backing up, to delete the ones that are already deleted click your pfp and press free space then it will delete your vids/photos in your camera roll but stays in google photos

Click on your account profile on the top right, and then click on “free up space.” It will ask if you want to delete the photos that are backed up to Google, and if you click “yes” it will automatically delete them from your phone for you, but they will still be saved to Google Photos. After that, you will still need to go to “recently deleted” on your phone and delete them from there yourself, though, or they will remain there for up to 40 days. That’s how it is on iPhone, anyway. I have an android and it seems to back them up without having to open the app. If I take a pic and go to the app it's there already. I do have a question about getting space back on my phone. When I got my new phone the guy at Verizon sent all my current pics to google photos and then freed up that space in my phone but I could still access all my photos on my phone as they were on the google app. I now have a ton more pics, how do I preform the same task. Deleting the Google Photos apps does not delete your photos stored in the Google Photos server or cloud. Google Photo apps is a tool that allows you access to a specific directory of the Google Photo server and that directory is a storage that was assigned/created for you.

@@joyceferrer1162 if you have ios, my advice is to use iCloud. I've been using it for years and I am more than happy with it. I also bought an apple subscription that provides extra 50 gb of memory for only 1 euro/month. Totally worth it.

Yes
Click on your account profile on the top right, and then click on “free up space.” It will ask if you want to delete the photos that are backed up to Google, and if you click “yes” it will automatically delete them from your phone for you, but they will still be saved to Google Photos.
After that, you will still need to go to “recently deleted” on your phone and delete them from there yourself, though, or they will remain there for up to 40 days. That’s how it is on iPhone, anyway. Good luck.

After making a folder and putting the pictures in the folder that you want can you then delete the pictures and they will remain in the folder?

When I deleted a photo from my iPhone it deletes it from my Google photos- how do I keep that from happening???? I can’t figure it out
Google Photos used to be free for unlimited photos but that’s changed, right? Can you explain more about that? Thank you! 👍
I believe it’s changing this summer. Anything you store in there leading up to then won’t count towards your storage.
if I delete a photo from my device gallery, will it be automatically deleted from google photos as well? thanks

@@joyceferrer1162 in the meanwhile someone told me that I have to explicitly delete it from google photos (NOT ONLY FROM THE DEVICE GALLERY).
@@razvanv339 yes i try google photos recently to ios it is automatically back up when I downloaded it and itry to delete some photos in the google photos and it’s deleted on my iphone as well
@@joyceferrer1162 if you have ios, my advice is to use iCloud. I've been using it for years and I am more than happy with it. I also bought an apple subscription that provides extra 50 gb of memory for only 1 euro/month. Totally worth it.

Go to the photo you want and swipe up tap download and the photo will be back on your gallary

My setting only say back up...there's no backup and sync...what do?
Amazing video it helped me but I sadly need a little extra assistance lol. So once I back the photos up in Google photo I'll be able to go to my camera roll on my android phone and deleted my albums and I'll have them saved to the cloud? So another words I'm trying to clear space on my phone because my 124gb is pretty much all videos and photos. 🤷🏻♂️ Thank you for help!
