some of the players have said that they are different from last years allstar jerseys that they liked, if that's the case it seems like they tried to fool the players
What do you except? It’s mainstream news at 8a. I’d bet most these “reporters” don’t even watch the sport. They don’t have an opinion, they just read the teleprompter.
@@bobbleheadbob the anchors and reporter don't even realize the Yankees don't put their names on the back of their jerseys. That's one of the ways to the the difference, even the replica's didn't have names on them.
Ps...congratulations to the reporter for pulling out a Yankees jersey to show the difference, when the Yankees do not traditionally have names on the back.
This is where teams like the Yankees, Dodgers, White Sox, Red Sox, Cubs and Cardinals need to say fix this or we will get our own manufacture, if they those teams went rogue, you would see a change. This wouldn't be happening if Steinbrenner was around not to the Yankees uniform anyways, they probably would go to NewEra and ask them to manufacture their uniforms and merchandise exclusively. Let's hope fanatics don't get there hands on NewEra.

Fanatics has been manufacturing NHL hockey gear for a year or so now. The quality is terrible and the sizing is erratic.

the one that he was holding in the video was a replica (heatpressed name and numbers). The Authentics are still nameless and stitched. Both Pinstripes and road grays.
Make the jerseys cheaper quality but keep the retail high for consumers

Agree 💯% with this. Fanatics makes really cheap quality apparel and stuff that shrinks too much after a wash or doesn't fit right to begin with. It's awful!
Nike has ruined the jerseys since 2020 with the swoosh on the chest.
I would like for New Era to do the whole uniform, head to toe. Lets hope fanatics doesn't buy them. I would say the teams like the Yankees, Dodgers, Red Sox, White Sox, Cubs, Reds and Cardinals should threaten to go rogue, to get the uniforms manufactured by another company if this continues for both their on field uniforms and other merchandise including replicas. New Era, manufactures the Canadian Football League uniforms, and they look pretty sharp

All the MLB jerseys I own are majestic from 2010-2019. Best quality jerseys I’ve ever owned. Won’t be buying another one anytime soon.

The majestic cool base jerseys were probably just as light weight and breathable.
It's great that the players can wear these ultra new light jerseys, because it really doesn't matter if they wear out or get damaged; the team will just supply a new one. Not so for the fan...when their jersey wears out, they have to pay for a replacement. Moreover, the new fabric and template does not account for smaller names and numbers.

Anything manufactured by Fanatics is going to be crap!!!! Shirts are cheap and the screen print peels off after 1 washing/drying. I wont buy anything with "Fanatics" on it from any of the Major Sports Leagues Shops. Will only buy if has another brand name....i.e Nike, 47' etc....

@@ThunderDogY2K3 The items were tested and approved to be at least at satisfactory level. It's not like the jerseys will fall apart while being worn. MLB gets a lot of money from the bidding war between these multi-billion dollar companies.

New Balance and Under Armour missing their chance. Nike blew it big time using their cheap Chinese factories to manufacture their jerseys.
Under Armor did because, 'they didn't have the budget' to pay the MLB for the uniform/equipment deal years ago.
These jerseys are manufactured in Pennsylvania, not China. Google it...
Fanatics manufactures the jerseys, it says right in the report, if weren't too stupid not to listen. Under Armour is so broke they canceled their deal with UCLA, you think they can afford MLB? New Balance makes crap apparel and needs to stick to dad shoes.
It’s good for a hot day in the summer but the World Series is played in basically winter temps. In a northern climate with open air stadium, players are going to have to wear even more layers lol

not to mention that all the logos, names and number fall off after a wash, i noticed even the replica's have gone up in price by about $30., that is crazy, some people can't afford the authentics, are now being priced out on the replicas, especially if you buy these for kids that are continually growing.
You know all that stuff they did does not make for a better FAN ORIENTED garment. As a fan we don’t want our $200+ dollar passion piece of a garment to feel like it came from target. Bring back stitching, make the name plates right, put the MLB logo back on its original spot, and stop distributing thru fanatics they are terrible.

It's not complicated. Nike cheaply made the jerseys to maximize profits. $400 for a jersey not autographed is absolutely insane. That's what MLB gets for working with NIKE making these in sweatshops in Beijing !

“Performance wear” means “we are making a cheaper product under the guise of utility for more money.” Yes they stretch and dry better…because there is less material! Just like when firms say “60% fewer on-site accidents!” Yeah, when you replace 60% of human labor with machines.

I keep reading how Nike “worked with the players” to design these new uniforms, but I also keep reading how much the players hate them, with few exceptions.
And the only positive seems to be concerning the material (lighter, but also less tailored.)
Bottom line: Fanatics is supposedly worth $22 billion, so DON’T add to their coffers by buying something you don’t like at all. Living vicariously costs too much, anyway.
As for the players, they’ll go along with it for what they’re making. If they can wear those horrible looking City Connect rodeo clown uniforms…

Nike Sucks Making Jerseys
Performance-based over aesthetics is actually more the norm for sports jerseys around the world than in North America (i.e. screen printed or heat pressed logos, names and numbers). Thing is so are ads on jerseys. North American fans are used to jerseys with stitching and no ads yet slowly the leagues are conforming to what most of the world does which is causing the backlash.

First of all, a Yankee jersey with a last name on the back will always look fake.
I was in minor league dugouts for a few years, if myself or any of my teammates were offered a heavier jersey compared to a lighter cheaper material. We would all pick heavy 10/10 times. Don’t let these clowns fool you into thinking this is what players want. It’s not for performance. The material is lighter and more airy because it is cheap for them to produce a jersey with. It has nothing to do with what the players want.

What needs to happen for both the authentics and the replicas which have also, been degraded we need to stop buying even if its for a month or so, stop wearing any jersey to the games, until they get the hint. Some people can only afford the replicas, which also have gone up in price by about $30. the logos were still sewn on. I had a majestic replica and the logo was sewn on and the name and number had a design on them to look like they were sewn on, even though it was glue, the presentation of the jersey had the look like it was made with pride that the authentic on field looked like
