A beautiful area.
Really interesting potted history of Newtown. This is a unique area of the island unlike any other parts which consist of downs, farmland and coastal cliffs. Look forward to your next video.
Thank you John, much appreciated 🙂
Thank you for the video and information, I look forward to watching your walks.
Thank you for watching! 🙂 plenty more on the channel, here's a link to the playlist if interested 👍

I've visited the Island for holidays regularly over the past 10 years and have yet to visit Newtown. Like you, I use public transport to get around and watching your video has encouraged me to 'make the effort' to explore the area. I guess it is best to go at low tide as I expect much of the land can be underwater at high tide.
I really enjoy the channel and find your relaxed style of presentation very informative and has encouraged me to follow in your footsteps. One of my favourites is a circular walk from Shanklin, up to Shanklin Down, along to the radar station site, then to Wroxall and back to Shanklin along the old railway line all inspired by the content of your channel. Thank you.
Thank you so much for the kind words, super glad you enjoy the channel and it has inspired you! Newtown is definitely worth a visit it is stunningly beautiful 🙌.
All the very best 🙂
Great, someone else did a history video of Newtown! Thank you. I filmed the anchorage too as it’s an absolute sailing favourite.
@@IslandlifeIoW Thank you! Just sub's to your channel ... love the drone shots 😊👍
@@WightWanderer thanks. You too.
It also nice to learn more about the Isle of Wight as I with my parents and brothers leave in August 1957.
Glad you enjoyed it, it's a stunning place 😊
Really enjoyed this! 😊
Glad you did! Thank you 🙂
Sounds as if the Pied Piper of Hamelin visited Newtown too! 😉 Thanks. Interesting video. I'll be visiting IoW in a couple of weeks.
Yes. Some accounts state that the Newtown story was the original, but not sure about that 🤔.
Thank you for watching 😊.
Thanks for sharing 💙🧶🍓🌈
Thank you Jenny 🙂👍
It's a lovely quiet part of the island. We were initially drawn there as the Town Hall is a National Trust property and we are members. Interesting that they have a Pied Piper story which is almost identical to that of Hamelin in Germany.
Yes it is more or less identical, very interesting 🤔.
Thank you for watching 🙂.
Thanks for a great video, very interesting and what a lovely place,if a bit hot when you were there! Not relevant but did I see PS Waverley in the sea in the background?
Thank you Sue. Yes you did I spotted it on the way to Ryde, great sight 🙂
Excellent video’s. Just binged watched all your video’s, great evening’s entertainment. Is your “collection pot” still operating?
Thanks
Doug
Thank you! That is very kind of you to say and glad you enjoy them.
We do still have a collection pot ... here is the link, though we will hopefully be setting up a Patreon soon with extra footage for members 🙂 app.collectionpot.com/pot/3099713/
We prefer it from Hampstead Drive, much quieter. And not so many dfl's.
