There are numerous recipes that call for heavy cream. I don't get it. I had my first steak diane back in 1972 prepared table side by a real life maitre d. He did not use heavy cream. He DID use brandy and dijon. Todd's version is not going to be very authentic.
Just made the sauce and it was sensational. I bought a really nice piece of beef and cooked it over charcoal. The sauce just topped it off. Thanks a lot.
For what its worth you don't need much produce to make these. So it should remain cheaper. Also Shallots are green onions in America i have been told. :)
gosh darn I don't know about the sauce but that steak looks good - I have heard of this sauce but never had it - good video - you realy do make it "simple easy cooking" THANK YOU
No idea what Diane sauce is but it looks good. Here in the United States fresh produce is extremely expensive (no idea why) so most people would buy bottled sauce just because it would be more cost effective :(
It may but i have never tried it with any white meat sorry. If you are looking for a sauce to use check out my gravy recipe. There is a link to it under the video in the comments section. :)
I just put that on my steak and it was delicious. Thanks for sharing that recipe, I'll sure do it again ! Tomorrow I'll try your southern fried chicken, looks amazing ! :D
I have never seen Diane without dijon and brandy or cognac...
Shouldn't there be brandy and mustard in Dianne sauce?

Is green onions called shallots in Australia?
Also Worcestershire. You could just add sour cream at the last and I'd go for he Dijon mustard as well and also make the sauce thick enough

It's not supposed to have cream. For a more authentic taste, look for Julia Child's recipe.
The steak i was using at the end then yes. That was some of my T-Bone i was having for dinner that night :)

when you shallots, your adding spring (green) onion
maybe that's why Aussies or kiwis should not make cajun food.
It may but i have never tried it with any white meat sorry. If you are looking for a sauce to use check out my gravy recipe. There is a link to it under the video in the comments section. :)

For some reason, I find steak absolutely disgusting. Just can't make myself eat the stuff. Would this go on pork chops instead?

Not really sorry, it is far easier and cost affective to just buy it
