This video reminds me a couple CM games I had a few years ago. One game we had a carry void and we were losing until I, after dropping a lucky ult from accidentally misjudging my blink range and ended up stuck in the middle of trees, decided "me be carry" and helped us turn it around to win. The second I was solo laning against a Tusk and Abbadon and somehow I dominated that lane. Even now I look back and think "how did I do that?" XD
After watching this vid, i played CM as pos5 in ranked and manage to get 4 wins in a row, thank you for this guide, it helped me improve my support game and changed my mindset to how i approached playing po5.

Been winning more games as a cm spammer for pos 4. Which i find very useful esp if youre supporting an erm "unskilled" carry. And Im glad i watched this i also have a habit of leaving lane to support the more able carry. Love the idea for bm wasnt expecting that for cm
i played support since 2012. but after seeing the point where u mention to 'enable' other core that is higher level (skill)..i never done that ! i always prioritize my carry. tq for the tips

Good point about this, many supports really miss out what they truly are supposed to be doing... but there is also a part of supports that by "I can't have influence on the game" actually mean "it's late game, you can't expect me to do much".
Yes, Supports can do still a lot in late game and they have to do so (otherwise they wouldn't be playing the game), but what they can do is limited.
CM cank slow down the enemies, block them in place for them to beaten down by their cores, use their items to support the team during the fights and throw that Freezing Field and wreck the enemies.... but she is still CM, a squishy INT support. She can't win those fights directly, she needs the cores to do their job as well.
And if you played a decent-to-good match in early and mid game and still playing to win in late game, just to see your safe lane Slark get out of the high ground, getting smashed by stuns and brutally killed just to yell at the team "why you didn't follow me?" and say that he doesn't have buyback ready... you just want to scream to him "I am a support, what do you expect me to do if you are fucking diving outside of my range and mobility?"
Yes, there is a ton of Supports players bitching and playing bad, but there is also a ton of cores throwing games because they didn't pay enough attention to their moves and blame it on the supports, indipedently from what they did in the whole match.

@@gentlycz I wanted to point this out because there is a limit to how much of an idiot I may be in this game after 6 years (I was there in 2013 and "I have seen things you humans couldn't even imagine") and how much I can try to improve as a support player.

@@metube6299 I buy force staff much more than blink on CM. Basically I only buy blink when we are crushing the laning stage and my team needs some fast initiation for pick-offs, or sometimes later in the game if I don't know what to get.

Respawn timer is 10s less and the gold is 25 each for the enemy team. So yes, that’s a better play.

haven't played her as much in dota 2, but i do get plenty of triples+ with her. I spammed her in dota allstars in TDA, and especially throneit(which was mmr for public games where they divided the teams up based on winrate). In throneit, I had over a 90% winrate 100+ games played only playing CM or TA.. and I got countless triples and triple triples+ with her. i can't remember if they implemented the new sounds for 4-5+ kills yet back then, for the longest time it'd just say triple kill over and over again. Back then though I'd always solo lane her, and rush the invis item into blink dagger. She was stupid good when she got ahead in the right hands. There was no glimmer cape at the time, but Lothar's or whatever the invis item was called worked just as well...not to mention it was great for right clicks early on. By the time I got the blink dagger it was basically GG.. the game would very rarely last long enough for me to get a third item. Throneit was great too because it was the first time pub games would stay 5v5 for the whole match.. people seemed to actually care.
Speed can you do a video about farming as an offlaner? supps start to farm like crazy and stealing lanes and jungle the carry and mid player just go in my lane with no fucks given, normally I just feel bullied out from farming in the game. Specially when I am playing as batrider or something like that

Played pos4/5 i know how lethargic supports can be when the moment they realise your cores are clowns... But...yes...this vid taught me that you should do what you gotta do.There are many ways you could play the game rather than eyeballing every mistake my cores make(Its really a bad habit of mine since I also played decent games of cores and it really make me cringe when I see them doing something unnecessary and then they be proud of) ... Learned new ways to play support... Time to improve my PMA by doing these methods...thanks alot...

Agree completely with ditching a core that is low skill compared to the game when it makes sense. Kinda defines my party queue where the lowest skill player believes they are playing 1 when in reality we are just aggro tri.
What do you do when you win lane with your carry, and other 2 lanes lose? this is what happens to me on low mmr 1k. I win lane as support with my carry and other mid/offlane lanes LOSE / FEED than we have 0 team play and eventually lose game, so how can you win games with support in 2vs5 basically?

I once played pos 5 enigma, pulled every time at 15 sec mark, converted range creep, and got 0 contest on every pull, my TB got supa farmed, it was an ez game after that

0/10 didn't take the attack speed talent 20 minutes prior in anticipation of cm rapier and thus did not take.
Also did you guys know weaver had cd on bb or was it $, that rapier was on the ground like 10 seconds where he could have done the bb ult play so I would guess it was cd, cuz that is spooky if it wasn't known. I dont think he could see it wasn't picked up but I' m rage bb ulting if it's up if I lost rapier to a cm.
Why did u dive the tower instead of dying tô the neutral? Any specific reason?
I think the respawn time is less for tower kills as opposed to neutrals.
When you die to the neutrals it adds like an extra 20 seconds to your respawn timer while dying to the tower adds none.

@@gardettors5094 Barely any, it splits it if an enemy hero does not hit you. Like they get 160 split to all 5 enemy heroes. That's like 35 gold each.

Nice videos...thanks for guides, but 1 have one question. How come higher players dont buy as much wards? I mean I go all out and buy almost 100% of the wards including sentries...but yet your CM just left it in stock. My game people cry for wards all the time.
There are some point in the game in which you badly needed a ward, like taking enemy towers and rosh, and smoke gank. Like you said they are high mmr player, that means they have high degree of map awareness to the point that they can determine if enemy is roshing even if they have no ward on the pit.

generally you stand back and press spells and try to not stay in position. you need to know where you should ward and predict where the enemies ward. if you remove all the enemy vision, they will see a dark map and they can't play properly. know what to do in lane. just watch pro player replays and try to imitate them. sometimes 5s can even get more farmed than 4s and even 3s if you have a good game. dewarding gives a lot of gold
positioning, basically you should stay a blink range behind your carry or back line, that way you don't feed at the start of team fight and can run in, cast glimmer and force stuff and your spells and zone out, wait for cd and do it again if possible.
my only problem is when the 4 doesnt carry sentries in late so I get picked off when I try to place wards before fight, working on it but still a common reason for my deaths as team often lacks items to save me
I saw my PA diving for no reason, had low HP so i last hitted the ranged creeps, the PA died and accused me of stealing last hits and letting her die. She left the lane completely. Turned out i finished the game carrying as a disruptor ;)

@@murphy3248 I did look it up; dying to neutrals gives you a minimum respawn timer of 26 seconds (same as being level 6). However, he dies at 5:26 to the tower with a 10 second respawn. If he lets the second mud golem punch him at 5:17, he saves the time walking to tower, loses 7 seconds total but doesn't give Abaddon 134 gold.

So, question. I play in the 1k bracket. Out of the almost 800 games I have, I only have about 30 or so ranked, so I believe that's about where I belong. I normally play as pos4 or 5. Support comes natural to me, I really enjoy that role.
My question: Carries on the team are constantly diving past T2, T3 towers for kills that aren't objective oriented kills, and normally get destroyed, then the enemy team pushes to win. As a support around 1k MMR, how do I combat this? Am I wrong for not diving with them? Should carries even be diving T2s and T3s for kills? Am I in the wrong here?

No, they really shouldn't dive. In some of Speed's videos, he explains SOME diving is good to enable rotation from the enemy team to waste their position but that's about it. In my games, if diving DOES happen, we stop it at tier 2 and don't go past it if we stay longer than a few seconds. Other than that, you don't follow the carries to their doom.
All you do is, if you see this won't get anywhere, ping >Get back! at LEAST 4 times! If they don't listen, then they're at their own fault for their deaths.
In that time, ward, stack, farm, etc, just don't waste time too much on their mistakes if they don't listen to you. Heck, you could even push another tower if 5 are top, and you TP bot to help push a tower

I play pos5, guardian 5. 20 pct of my carries mute me when I communicate that I am stacking and pulling. In my last game I stacked at 1:54 and started pulling at 2:15. My carry comes over to the small camp and starts farming it as I'm pulling, which cancels my pull. This happened while there were enemy creeps in the lane. What do I do in that situation.
Also, I have had cores deliberately farm a camp as I'm stacking just to troll me.
Take the lane creeps while they hit jungle like a straight pepeg. Then you can get some better teamfight items like aghs on something like warlock.
if you’re in guardian 5, play core till u get a bit higher then support

I don't value 100 cast range as much as 250 hp talent.
Maybe in games i play against highly burst line ups more often i feel like i'm dead more often and have less impact if i don't take it.
I play a lot of dazzle so i'm confident in my team fight positioning as cm that i don't need items like aether lens as much as a blink dagger or force staff.
I also like getting far ahead on Levels so i can just be a manly CM and not worry about whether or not their cores can kill me cause i know unless i afk they cannot or at least i'll make my death leave a sour taste in their mouth.
I like getting the hp against teams that jump your back line and the range when I can stay in the back and just cast spells, I feel that it is actually quite flexible talent
there's no point in taking either talents if the enemy has a night stalker xD
Is it just me or most pos4 think that they shouldn't buy wards? I mean in lower brackets like mine people think they queue as 4 to not buy supporting items. I see both 4 and 5 as equal and buy what I think is necessary for the team. And also the mentality of "this core don't deserve my support. We gonna lose anyway". Thanks to this speed. I hope all low mmr players see this video.
whenever I play 4 no one has expected me to buy wards, I buy them if our 5 hasn't got them at first night for some reason and ill buy sentries etc. vs invis heroes (and also just generally for dewarding) but 4 and 5 are not equal at all. pos 4 often have a core item they want to get early, like lina euls or shaker blink, also I think its more effective if one support gets 1 item and the other one doesnt, otherwise you just have two heroes halfway towards an item. ofc if your 5 doesnt buy wards, then your pos 4 probably should, but if my 5 isnt buying wards it doesn't matter what pos i'm playing, ill buy them
4 should help with wards when 5 can't. also 4 should have at least a dust ready as he is more closer to the fight than 5 should be. personally I hate it when 4 buys wards instead of items when I could get them. what 4 should do though is help to plant the wards and defend them, it's painful to secure an area and see the whole team tp out chasing some sneaky fuck on the other side of the map and see the enemy deward your precious wards (late game)
Pos 4 should typically spend half the gold on support items as a pos 5
There is almost never a reason for 4 to buy wards. dust and smokes occasionally yes, but wards not really. It delays important item timings and costs a fuckton for the team in the long run.

This kind of guide is what makes you better perhaps but not the best, i mean its okay to abandon jugg, but just that and then you immediately decide to abandon your mid?and kill the not even sufficient stack with your ulti, while later make the 5v5 on mid 100% less efficent

No it's not. Dying to neutrals has a way higher respawn time penalty than dying to tower. That's the main reason its done at all.
He didn';t realise abaddon will get the kill (since he was last doing dmg). He thought it will be team-split gold. I would have done the same

You would have to pay to know where they were placed, but they certainly were. But the video was not focussing on warding but to play not too passive as a support, which, in the end, led to a victory. (Willow, the position 5 on the other team had a "clear" support build, but that did not help, did it?
