    If you told me a show about ex-military commandos would face off against a creepy frail scientist I wouldn’t believe you. But this score sells him so well.

      It really does. And Kiner keeps it fresh with new variations all the time.

      You’re right. Such great acting. But he does while we still appreciated him and that’s the best way to go.

    this was just as much of a masterpiece as the prequel trilogy and those that come from it ( the shows )

      I agree. Though the finale felt a little underwhelming for me.

      Your analysis of said finale is still coming? (Good things are worth the wait.)
      I had hoped the finale would have had a different ending (sadder, no happy retirement, but this also automatically setting things up for the next series, including opportunities to hear this brilliant theme again).
      I have a somewhat related question concerning Kiner's ascending/descending theme choices. After that you pointed this out, and after rewatching 3 seasons, CH's theme should be a dead giveaway already in the first season that he may be an antagonist for now but not a villain (he has an ascending theme, so more tragic /anti/hero w redemption arc to come).
      Do the Kiners, in your opinion also give importance to HOW /how much the theme ascends? Does brave full octave signify something different than tentative half-step? Does harmonically ascending by a fifth also signify harmony in the character? Does tentative half-step followed by much larger ascension next signify a tentative start followed by resolve/right decision? (You've probably already guessed that I'm thinking of Barriss' newly minted theme in the last case.)

      @starwarsmusicanalysis  5 месяцев назад +1

      @user-qu9rj3nl1s I love all these questions! I really should do a Crosshair breakdown. Barriss’s too. In fact I really need to just get back to theme breakdowns in general. Perhaps an August project!
      The open octave represents a strange dichotomy of strength and vulnerability. Easily able to encompass large areas but also very hollow and unfulfilled. It retraces its steps then but a step lower, which feels like the beginning of a fall, preparing us for something sad.
      The Kiners treat themes identically to Williams. Sometimes too much even. So, all is the same traits that Williams would follow in his themes are also found in the Kiners’. But these concepts go back way further, even to the ancient Greeks who talk about these ideas as forms of rhetoric in their art. So they’re just inherently part of either us or at least western civilization.
      I finally got my BB finale breakdown released from its hold yesterday. But I think I’m going to schedule it for Thursday, July 4th since I’ll be on vacation that week and will be late with my Acolyte breakdown anyways. All Acolyte before then with a few more theme arrangements. Hope that’s ok. Haha.

    I love this theme, but the other day, while rewatching Mandalorian, I thought I heard it in the soundtrack! Turns out, it was Bo-Katan's theme. Am I the only one that thinks they sound similar?

    • @starwarsmusicanalysis
      @starwarsmusicanalysis  Год назад +2

      No. Her heroic theme is definitely similar. There are a lot of things like that in Star Wars because there are so many themes. These too will most likely never cross paths though.
