Bon fortune in your future endeavors Amanda. Now, your question about the smartest Marvel mutant. It's got to be someone like Sage, Prodigy, Prof.X or even Forge. I'm leaning towards Sage though even though her powers have never really been thoroughly explored. Just that Tessa has a computer like brain. Not much to go on. Prodigy might just beat her though I;m not so sure that he does so yet.

Smartest person in the Marvel Universe? Reed Richards - he's a brilliant physicist with all the abilities of an engineer (which is what Tony Stark is) and has created interstellar travel for the planet Earth (something no other mind on Earth has accomplished) and has discovered inter-dimensional travel, as well. He's beaten Doctor Doom (arguably one of the smartest people in that universe, in the Top 5) and his daughter, Valeria, is in the Top 5 and will eventually surpass him. He's helped many of the smartest people in the Marvel Universe get things under control (like Peter Parker and the symbiote suit). Sadly, he was entirely mischaracterized in Moon Girl's comic (she's also one of the Top 5, but her level was cheated by the writer introducing an "unsolvable" Banner Box [never seen before] at a time when Reed was out-of-universe, rebuilding the multiverse - then, when they brought him back, the writer cheated again by characterizing Reed in a manner he had never behaved previously or since). Tony Stark is in the Top 5 as well, although the order shifts after Reed with some frequency. After the Top 5 are Bruce Banner, Hank Pym and Amadeus Cho.
