I do a lot of air insertion and plan egress using certain vehicles designated from air reconnaissance, falling back to only vehicles that present themselves in the immediate AO. I also plan LRRP’s to distant objectives by leather express only with designated resupply points (rebel camps) for kit change, ammo and simulated rest periods. If I don’t make a point by nightfall and traveled 10k, we buckle down for in game night and move out at first light, mission dependent, If night mission, sleep during the day and move at night only.
RushInNinja Oh god patience is a must but it adds to the immersive element and I recently discovered how much more immersion I missed out on not having used headphones. I was blown away with how much more the ambient sounds adds an incredible element of realism, the Development team that did the sounds did outstanding! Having headphones on helps with orientation as you can actually determine direction and distance of everything from gunfire, enemy helicopters fly over or a fly by. And actually hearing enemy AI’s footsteps in heavy brush with no line of sight, I could hear the crunch of gravel as they walked by and started to walk away in the opposite direction, or even the sound of wind blowing by your ears. It’s simply amazing, I can’t believe I missed out on all that, relying just on speakers and never considering using headphones for other than party chat in PVP games.
I didn’t notice that the bodies disappeared until I went to a sniper’s nest and took out the sniper and his guard with my pistol, then I scoped in to check out the tattoo on top of the guard’s head and thought: “I wonder if the sniper has a tattoo on his head too!” Sure enough, I walked over to the sniper to realize...he’s gone. I’m like, “wasn’t there a guy here,” and I looked over to find the other guy (I don’t know why, I guess I was gonna ask him if he saw that, too,) and he was gone, too. I sat for a few seconds, confused. And then I figured it out. Damn I’m an idiot.
My friends and I became paratroopers and would drop around 500m from objective or more and walk alot we would use compact guns and no fast traveling we would have a pointman we would all use mp5 as a secondary and dress the same outfit with minor differences to tell us apart never use drones no hud we would plan our attacks and sometimes we wouldn’t kill a person get to the objective and extract undetected no vehicles
Steal a big plane, turn HUD off, crash it in the snowy mountains, turn after that difficulty to extreme and try to find civilisation. You may find the legendary village
@@Pepe-ts9ec I’m extremely late. Like 2 years Kate, but there’s a village in the snowy mountains that used to shoot down planes it would eat the people inside or su. They would also build their houses from the scrap metal
What I do when I want a really good immersive experience either alone or with some friends is we all disable minimap, but then one "squad lead" or all of us (depending on what we decide) uses the Wildlands app's map on a tablet/phone as a "handheld GPS" type of device.... Really been enjoying your vids and rules like this really keep wildlands challenging and fun!
I love to role-play in this game, my favorite way to play is to only wear civil clothes, and use "low end" weapons, like stuff civilian can own easily. Never using the drone, never using NVG, avoiding helicopter or plane as much as possible
Here’s something big for immersion I think. When using night vision, without crosshairs turned on, use the ATPIAL to aim in over the shoulder view. This is how the modern day soldier aims their weapon under night vision and it takes skill to pull off effectively.
That's what I do and what has replaced cross hairs. If there was any piece of gear that you'd need to google for on a new game, it'd be that for aiming and immersion.
One of my favourite things to do with my mate is to have one person conduct over watch outside a base with a sniper while the other infiltrates the base. The infiltrator calls out targets for the sniper but they can’t kill anyone themselves. They’re reliant on their sniper and their own stealth tactics.
Very cool idea, and you could use various tactics too i suppose to draw the ones he can't reach out in the open. I may experiment around with that one :)
I like to use all of the outfit slots for different types of operatives. Each outfit will have a standard issue and a winter counterpart. I have three different operators for each squadmate, one British, one French, and one German. When changing my operator and squad outfits, I also change the game language to match the operators. Such as English for British operators, French for French operators and so on.
I played a good portion of the main game with the TAR-21 and the ACR when Tier 1 grinding. Thanks for your great vids! Below are some immersion setting required for our XB1 military MILSIM: HUD: PRESET: Custom Teammates names in ADS: Off XP / TIER: Points: Off Intel Hud: On Input Reminders: Optional Contextual Actions: Optional Crosshair: Optional MiniMap: Off Detection Clouds: Off Enemy & Rebel: Off Objective Markers: Off Communication Markers: on Item & Location Markers: Off Alert Markers: Off Sync Shot: On Ammo & Items: On Mission Reminders: Off Hints: Off Notifications: Off Team Info: Off ----- We also build loadouts based on Billet (specific personnel assignment): BILLETS: Element Lead Rifleman Automatic Rifleman Corpsman Scout Sniper
Forgot to mention last time on immersion vid, if you go realistic weight/distribution load out (1 long gun, 1 support gun), holster your weapons when not in combat. I go even further, I remove silencers. If someone sneaks up on you, well you don't care about stealth, and if you are doing the sneaking you put on the silencer then. Gives it further realistic feel as you don't want more stuff protruding from your load out. The ammo/explosive info goes away if you holster, and you don't need to disable it in settings, so that's an extra benefit.
Yeah, I started doing something like that, and will certainly combine much of the stuff i've gotten from you guys for a new immersion video. I've started a thing where if I have a sniper or an lmg I can only have an smg with it, and if I have an AR I can only have an smg or shotgun with it. only changing loadouts at rebel checkpoints, it makes you think a lot before you deploy.
I try to not change my load out at all, hence watching all your weapon vids to try and find that be all end all kind of thing (big thanks again). I still got 5 tier levels until LOVA, so I'm in grind mode and put my immersion rules on hold until I get that. What I've been leaning towards weapon wise is, His-47, which gives good vision from far, I can snipe with it after a little getting used to, and it has very high dmg. As for support, I used to run SR3M, with short barrel, folded stock, and grenade launcher. In that configuration SR3M has a much smaller profile then a lot of SMGs. I'd use it for sub 100m range, and to blow up stuff. Between those 2 weapons i actually have everything covered, long range, close range (can attach silencer), and vehicle disable. Added benefit, both weapons are non nato, so it kinda goes further to hide traces of US spec ops operating in Bolivia. Few food for thought things: LOVA-C actually can't accept silencer, they have a proprietary muzzle break, which is whole point of LOVA irl, it greatly reduces muzzle flash and other marvelous things according to the manufacturer (Tavor or TAR-21 got a reputation of reliability issues with suppressor, something about switching the gas pressure I think). And lastly, in your assault rifle bullet drop vids, maybe you can spend a minute discussing your best possible use/mods for the rifle you are talking about? For example in FAMAS vid you can say, FAMAS doesn't have the best bullet drop, but has other benefits, and should be set up accordingly, such set up being etc., etc. Sorry for the wall of text bud, just trying to be a little helpful if I can.
all good info.. and that's food for thought, what you said there at the end. I did in that video go on a minute about the G2, but I took it out in editing because it was stuff I hadn't tested. Because of its high RoF and limited range, I began comparing it to SMGs, but just didn't have the data to back it up, so I took that out. But, I'll try to keep that in mind. As far as the LVOA having a proprietary muzzle break that doesn't allow a suppressor.. that I didn't know. I've read and watched a decent amount about it, and don't recall seeing that, but maybe it's just because no one I saw fire it mentioned that... but I can't afford one irl anyway haha. And yeah, the His AK is really, really good. It does a lot of damage and having that scope on it makes it incredible, but the recoil is real zoomed in with that scope lol, but yeah that thing shreds vehicles and makes long shots decently.
Isn't it? I don't recall every buying it. Maybe it came from a past challenge. I don't remember, but I know it just showed up in my headwear options a while back.
Got to say I love you and your communities immersion ideas, so I figured I'd throw mine in as well. Now for this it will require co-op there is no way around that and may or may not require a bit of research but for those in a task force may find it pretty great. So what me and my task force do since we have quite a few international members we have 2 loadouts. Loadout 1. is the standard Ground (Land) Forces/Army/Marines etc. loadout for the respective countries i.e. US Army - Tops: Crye Combat Shirt, Vest: IBA, Pants: 511 Tactical C, Shoes: Commando/Hiking Boots, Eyewear: Any Sunglasses/None, Facewear: Shemagh, Headwear: Wingnut/ACH Helmet, Coms: Headset A - C, Handwear: Any Gloves Minus Nomex, Backpack: 511 Rush 24, Patches: US Flag, Camo: All In Muticam/UCP, Weapons: AR: M4A1/M16, LMG: MK48/MK249, SMG: MP5/SR635/PSG, Sniper: MK14/MSR/SR25, Shotguns: SPAS12/Super Shorty, Pistol: M9/P227, Weapon Camo: Multicam/Black. Loadout 2. is the SOF(s) which is a bit more liberal in terms of gear the main idea is to adhere to the uniform/weapons/equipment of the respective nations. The whole immersion principle behind this was to RP as a UN/NATO/Coalition force in Bolivia. I know this was long and I apologize but I hope you guys enjoy, happy hunting Ghosts.
I only use pistol while im undetected in a base, only use sniper outside of a base, and only use assault rifle once ive been detected and in a gunfight. And i dont use the drone, i use the binoculars to recon. Started playing on Extreme difficulty from the get go, now im on Tier lvl 35. There ain't no going in loud into bases anymore its way too hard for that now, forces you to get better to progress.
This needs more plate carrier/tactical vest options, the option to have your sleeves rolled up with a combat shirt, at least 4 more helmets to choose from, the option to flip your nvgs up and down, maybe an advanced combat helmet with 4tube nvg18s, and the option to out them on any helmet in the game, definitely AI customization, more pistols, a few more camo patterns, more melee combat animations, more optics, the option to wear a john wick suit, the option to equip and unequip weapons, add a white heat thermal and black heat thermal to the nvgs, add these weapons to be fully customized by the player,mk18, M4A1 sopmod block 2, ump45, mcx, mcx virtus, the honey badger, war sport lvoa, salient arms sbr, hk416, more cosmetic items to add to your helmet, (helmet cam, helmet light), a few combat knives, and much harder difficulty
It is a pain to have the map off, but so worth it man. Yeah you will have to check the tacmap a lot, but it is also good for testing your memory, and adding that extra bit of immersion.
I tend to stick with a particular load out for specific tactics. Maybe you do an M4A4 and a P90 for mid-ranged firefights with Unidad forces, and a MP7 and a SPAS-12 for raiding compounds.
I have the minimap turned off because when do you ever have a constant knowing of your surroundings? With a crosshair you can assume where you're shooting and you know how much magazines and grenades you have left. But you don't know every area 24/7
Wow, I can't believe both of my comments were featured! Keep making the great videos, Dally, they rock! Perhaps you can make a video talking about some little things we'd like to see put into the game by Ubi Paris to improve game immersion in a later video?
Hey Dark, just subbed very recently and just got time to start watching through your videos. I never thought to play the game this way. I’m going to redownload it and try. Thank you for your videos, they’re truly awesome.
Got to remember the order: flare, c4, mine, flashbang, diversion lure, frag! (There is a song video sonewhere lol). I play no-hud and hud-on depending how I feel. Sometimes leaving just Communication Markers On makes things a little simpler.
I just got Wildlands. Looking forward to playing this with the 1st person mod and setting my own parameters. Since Wildlands has such a beautiful world compared to Breakpoint I had to grab it.
>>>Games should have>>> "immersion mode", 1).Bodies dont disappear 2).Night vision better tuned, less brightness around street lights. 3).Thermal in black & white heat signature 4).No mini maps 5).Fast-Travel not possible. 6).Vehicles, only those already on location 7).No crosshair. 8).Hide dead bodies possible. 9).Drone, only with Drone backpack. 10). Night vision, only if equipped. 11).Gear equipping only at Ammo crates at locations. Breakpoint will feature more of these presumably.
Best and worst part about turning off mission reminders (i play with no hud) is I was once cornered in a random small town looking for one guy in a 15 min firefight. No primary ammo left I coward in a building refusing to die only to realise the AI followers had killed him 5 minutes ago during the gun fight. I was still shooting with my pistol at well no one...
My immersion loadout consists of three parts. 1: My recon loadout. I use woodland camo with the ABH. For my weapons, I use the AWM sniper with full accuracy mods, with a TARS scope. Then, I use a vector with folded stock, shift shirt grip, extended mags, comp m4, and a laser 3dot
Yeah for sure I have more suggestions. Thanks to all the feedback from these videos, I will have future ones in the series combining all these great ideas.
I like everybody’s tips, thanks. But the only one I don’t like is the adv helmet for night vision. Not that I think it’s a stupid idea just how the helmet isn’t free. Also I tried on nvg before and they aren’t big and don’t have to be attached to a helmet so I just think of it being in my backpack
Don't know about you but in my unit we have no way of using NVG's without mounting them to our helmets. Even in Iraq I only had helmet mounts and no way to use them without other than just holding it up to my eye. And thermals have no helmet mount that I am aware of, I had it mounted on my gunner's 240B in the turret of my truck. I would just hop up in the turret if I needed to see any heat.
I use the stampede as a rifle instead of a sniper rifle. And I also bring the sniper rifle golden sun. I only use the long barrel magnum (there’s only two different magnums and I forget the names) for the quick consecutive kills. I think the one I’m not using of the two is joker it’s the shorter barrel and almost white Color. Works pretty good if your using everything in your arsenal effectively. I like these immersion rules. I wish there can be options in the game cuz I sometimes might forget but I’ll keep at it.
My friends and I like to do role play in wildlands for example on the mission you have to steal the gun boat we all dressed up in Vietnam type gear and used weapons from that war and it was really fun to go flying down this river shooting at enemy's on all sides while someone is playing fortunate son through the mic it really adds a unique way to play this game
*DARKDALLY* As far as the map....The way to do it is with a team(which you have),not randoms. With a team, everyone is assigned a roll, just like real world military. Everyone loses the map EXCEPT 1 guy.His role is navigation, intel(taking count of baddies, best insertion point/points,where intel is &/or provisions such as petrol or meds, this guy is one of the most important team members,& should be chosen wisely.Mostly he/she shouldnt drive, but sit in the passenger seat because they need to be looking for incoming enemies,SAMs,air support, ect,& thats hard to do & drive. Then you have a dedicated sniper, dedicated grenadier,& finally the SAW gunner. That, personally is a good set up. I run with no HUD except ammo/items,& thats it,even though i dont have a team.I mentioned before in another video, police officers have a laptop in their vehicle, & in pursuit, have to go back & forth in split seconds,so thats what i do.Look at the map for about 1-3secs,memorize as much as possible, so i dont have to check it again, for awhile.
If you’re on PS4 I’ll be getting mines really soon I’ll get the game and we can start new characters and stuff and do immersion with the story possibly create a task force out of it like I said though I’ll just be doing like mercenary role playing still immersion though
On the spreadsheet you should do a explanation of all of the provinces. I like the limited hud. I have drove around the map before like 3 hours and it was so much fun we explored so much more.
Whenever I find weapons I like I tend to stick with them. I never use shotguns except in far cry games. I usually use an automatic rifle, grenade launcher, a sniper and my handgun which I like using. I also rarely throw grenades but I do lay c4 pretty often. I'm fairly new to gaming, never enjoyed it as a kid and through some odd events ended up becoming obsessed with these open world formats but I keep HUD and enemy clouds on because, I imagine, the challenge is already greater for me as a new gamer.
Darkdally another amazing video. I don't know why people complain so much about Ghost Recon Wildlands. It amazing game if you take the time to explore create personal challenges.
I know I'm late to the party, but you might want to use this immersion trick in other stealthgames too: I hate it when nights are not dark enough. in most stealth games, NVGs are rarely needed, at least not to the extend they should be. in a real forrest/jungle, you're essentially blind because it's so dark....so what I'm doing (ever since I played the first splinter cell) is turning down gamma/brightness to match the AI detection. so if the AI cannot see me in the dark, neither can I. of course, this needs some tweaking depending on the game graphics and the AI but usually, I end up with quite matching settings which truly does a lot for immersion. only downside is you will use it A LOT, so get used to green screens ^^
I follow a lot of the common immersion rules you've spoken of. One that I do that expands on the nvg helmet is weapon platform availability and outfit restrictions. Seeing as you are a contingent of delta operators I operate under the assumption that the agency is likely to give you one plate carrier, one helmet, and one back pack. Because these are all large pieces these 3 things will always be the same color and model. Ghilli can be made in the field so variety there is logical. Tops and pants can also change, as well as small accesories like gloves under the assumption I would have packed more than one pair. I land in country and have one ar weapon platform and its best attachments to switch out at ammo crates. I tend to pick either tar21 or m4a1. Magazine size is to never exceed 30 as drum mags are bulky and heavy. And typically for inter agency cooperation if I equip a tar21 I make the rest of my build as close to the imi as I can. Delta I'm likely to go all m4 or all socom (mk17/msr/p12). I can modify the weapons but never replace them.
Amazing! I do the exact same thing. Only coyote/sand colored: plate carrier, gloves, boots, backpack and helmet. For added immersion I ensure that all of my operators have a face mask of some sort. Remember, there were never any Americans in Bolivia.
Really looking for a reason to hop back into this game. Anyone wants to play hardcore, limited hud? Psn erv_gotti91 hit me up! Im a 26 year old army vet and i love running ops in this game
Do you think you could do a video overviewing dlc. If you’re not paying attention when each new item comes out it can be confusing to know how to get what. Basically overview the things that are worth getting, which packs they come in, if they are stand alone, what you can only get in crates, and what is and isn’t a good deal. Some information might be redundant but it would be a very helpful summary for a lot of players, myself included.
Hey if you’re using a weapon might be in case 17 you should probably be able to fold the butt stock in combat or just fold the butt stock in a jungle area for CQB
Using vision modes with those high tech glowy eyeglasses from Ghost Recon Future Soldiers works too. In fact it works better because it’s always on your face, unlike the NVG that doesn’t have any associated animation whatsoever.
Instead of the drone I always use binoculars. And I usually keep my primary silenced, usually SR25, and my secondary unsuppressed, and if I have too use my pistol for cqc. Anything other than that I get from your videos/comments.
Yeah I'm a big fan of running a suppressed sniper and pistol with an unsuppressed AR. It can be more challenging, but has me making decisions as well, especially if I choose not to take the Adv Suppressors skill on my character.
Big fan, thanks for the reply :) I thought I subscribed to you months ago but I got on today and went thru my subscriptions and didn't see you so I subscribed and now I'm playing Ghost recon again, I'm having more fun then my first play through
for your changing your gear comments. One thing i do is "utilize" my backpack. I keep my helmet in it as well as gillie top so i can "pull" them out when needed. If theres a gun i want and im not at a rebel outpost. I call in rebel support to bring it to me. Another thing i like to do is stay back 4-500 m and provide sniper support for rebels to attack unidad bases.
If you use the advanced ballistics helmet, the goggles go on over your eyes when you activate NV or Thermal Vision? There should have been an option to have NV googles to be put over head gear other than helmet.
Some Ideas I like are only being able to use the rebel support from the comms pack or a rebel outpost or rebel technical. I think the technical would be able to call in rebel support cuz they would have to have a radio to hear the call to come, so could put one out. Only way to use a drone is with the pack, and you should also have to bring the drone back, or not use it again till a resupply spot if you didn't bring it back to you, as you would not be able to retrieve it if you lost it or didn't bring it back to you. Only be able to set up the large map at places that would make sense, as in an info spot like tables with maps on it, or rebel outposts, or an outpost you have taken over from a faction. You can call in vehicles only if you are at a rebel outpost as they would get you the one you wanted, as well as can only fast travel from there, if at all. I like the idea of a no fast travel, but there are times you may want to get to that part and not drive, you could think of it as the rebel would fly you from one post to the next in a heli. Only way to swap weapons would be the ones you had or ones you picked up, so if you were out of ammo for your assault riffle but the guy you killed had some smg, you can pick that up and use your smg ammo, but not select the attachments or weapon of choice. If you were doing squad play, you could have one with the comms pack and one with the drone, and let the person with the drone be able to call the support, if it was ok, cuz you would want to have the support called in at the spot by the drone and he could "relay" the location to the guy with the comms to call it in at that spot, or vise versa, the guy with the comms could "use" the drone from the other guy
I use ton of your immersion rules and I really enjoy the game a lot more and I prefer the ak 12 as my favorite weapon I really like the ak look but i like to have more accurate weapons than the 47 so the 12 is my go to.
I was once flying a helicopter past the prededer mission and I see a Lazer at my helicopter and I wondered what it was then I see a blue plasma ball coming at me and I said this while sing it " ah hell naaaaaawwwwe" then boom and next thing u know I'm in the water dead. And im looking for tactital people for ps4.
I wish the map could turn into just the compass, it'd be less intrusive to be constantly looking for your north than to know your exact location and some of the other map clutter
1st person aim while using NVGs is a no go. Trying to look down weapon mounted magnified day optics while donning a night vision optic on your helmet is nearly impossible. 3rd person aim, no cross hair, with the ATPIAL (PEQ 15) laser optic attached is the only way to realistically aim at night. Devs should integrate infrared laser discipline in GR breakpoint. Shining an infrared laser over an enemy patrol base is an excellent way to get spotted immediately. While using night vision, all aiming in the first person should do is engage your IR laser and look over the left side of the weapon. This means devs would have to integrate laser toggle on/off as an aiming mechanism at night. A counter to that would be allowing dedicated rifle mounted infrared optics. This means that you’ll only have night vision while looking down your optic.
To comment on the map part have you used the ghost recon HQ app? You can keep the full map on at like all times from your phone instead. Just good for thought
What I did through my first play through I tried to use all the guns and see all the outfit pieces so I used every gun that I found when I found it and didn’t change it until I found a new one same with outfit pieces and used all the new attachments that I got on the weapon that I found and kept using those attachments only on the weapons that I found at that time when I did and am using and once I switch my weapon when I found a new one I used different attachments for each new weapon
If you run no hud you'll learn the order of your secondary equipment. Just remember to return to your default option. Also for some reason they made it so you can no longer cancel C4 placement which I guarantee is what will annoy you the most when you 1st turn the ammo counter off lol
>wireless headset >don't pause the game >go outside >take my shovel and my controller with me >dig a hole >neighbor watches me >take off my pants >shit standing up >misses the hole >go back inside >"Unidad patrol. Hold up" >perfect timing
I know this video is almost a year old now but in case anyone is visiting this video in late 2018: Semi-Auto Not a HUGE gameplay changer but it definitely adds to the realism. Only SMGs and LMGs can use full-auto. Burst is acceptable with certain weapons.
Hi mate. If you are still interested in this.._ I use a few of your previous suggestions plus I turned off the minimap plus all floating markers over npc's heads (except cync shot). It makes spotting enemies a bit pointless but its more tense when you can't always see where everyone is. I will adopt the night vision thing, and I also have three or four outfits but for temperature.
don't be afraid to use some of your futuristic gear and keeping a full HUD is immersive when using the Futures to gear remember Ghost Recon Future Soldier takes place one year after Ghost Recon wildlands in the universe
Darkdalky, would you mind helping me do a bade infiltration, I keep trying and I always fail towards the end. I end up startling someone or someone that isn't marked comes up from behind me. I spend a lot of time waiting. I normally attack at 02:00 so most of them are asleep but there's always someone up in, for instance, F.O.B. Vibora. All me Recon and time goes to waste pretty much. If you could at least give me some tips it would be greatly appreciated.
There is one thing about the L85A2 in this game that completely destroys my immersion and makes me unable to enjoy or even use that rifle: *The gun is in the middle of a stoppage.* Seriously, just look at it. The charging handle/bolt is open by an entire inch. It would never fire!
Same here. I’m not the biggest fan of pvp games unless there is a sort of larger teamwork element (such as Battlefield). Also, can you do an outfit showcase such as your favorite/special outfits? The outfit in the video looked very nice.
The "bottomless backpack", where you can change active weapons at any time (as though you are always carrying everything you've unlocked!) is my biggest peave with wildlands. That peave is probably tied with the lame "piped in sound" that plagues pve, as though you're in a room with one speaker overhead instead of accurate sound source locations. Ironically, I didn't try the pvp because of the bad pve sounds. But, the sounds are correct, with actual directional sources in pvp.
So im getting back into wildlands to try and play the whole game 100% in 1st person and adding immersion i can say i play no HUD except sync shot markers and the items info i wish you could remove the wepon info and the equipment info i need to know what i have equipped but i also wish i didnt know how much ammo i have in a mag
yoo .. darkdally me and my friend when we play we assume roles .. so im a good shot so i scout out the base and i use the sr25 and hti bdc the sr25 for personel and hti if shit goes down and scout out 3 positions incase we get compromised if we are i move positions all 3 positions are rigged with mines and c4 while i am the over watch with the snipers and the drone my mate goes through the camp and i guide him he uses the mp5 made for quiet cqb takedowns also an acr that is basically a power tool with granade launcher if shit goes down along with m9 suppressed ... so the goal is to complete missions stealthy so i the sniper im in a full ghille suit 400+ meters away taking care of stragglers and my mate is like black ops hitman and we do very well mind you we are both on tier 5 right now ... just wanted to throw it out there and get your opinion for immersive gameplay keep up the great work
I'd like to add a little something else to only using NVG with the Ballistics Helmet. Just because it isn't the only "option" for NVG or TG Only use NVG and TG if you have the Advanced Ballistics Helmet on, the Cross-Com Sunglasses (if they're futuristic, it isn't too hard to believe that they also have vision modes) on or the Splinter Cell outfit on (it literally has a pair of multi-vision goggles). Also maybe the Scout Headset, but I don't know what the actual function of that headset is in real life and if NV is even possible in the Scout Headset, so don't quote me on that.
This is more of a comment for everyone: it Doesn’t make sense, or it’s not realistic, I should say, to NOT wear full kit: helmet, plate carrier, same camo, same combat oriented type of clothing etc. because most of the missions and objectives are direct action based. You’re not in the field for days doing recon so you don’t need to “pack light”. And you’re not limited to blending in to the population; the game doesn’t require you to be the “grey man” so every day clothing or avoiding uniformity is useless. Whether it’s a direct action raid, VIP extraction, or supply raid, you’re just hitting objectives, killing the bad guys and dusting off. It’s funny, this game is structured exactly as if you are a Green Beret working in an ODA. In the story, the ghosts: organize and train a native force aka the rebels and conduct guerrilla -style warfare/fight with the rebels, conduct FID, Asset seizure, DA raids/ VIP extraction. HOWEVER in the actual gameplay, the “training” is done for you as you upgrade rebels skills and abilities from the menu and not in field or as part of a mission, same with a large majority of the reconnaissance and intel. You simply “receive it” or are told where to pick up the pre packaged intel instead of actually spending time building relationships and figuring out who you need to contact, or having to do actual recon: only being given a general AO and planning for what might be there instead of the fact that you already know where to go, and for the most part, who will be there and what to expect. In other words the way you actually play the game while you’re controlling your character and team is as if you are a part of a team in CAG/Delta. Especially when you consider the fact that all of the mission types focus on Small Unit Tactics in addition to the things above, as well as the overall tempo/pacing of those missions. That and the fact that the ghosts are “operators” with a background in the ARMY.
just add crosscom glasses. ghost recon's edge has always been their advanced technology. that being said, i think that the use of the drone in Future Soldier was far superior, as it actually tagged only the enemy in its field of view. Deploying, moving and protecting the drone during a shootout was extremely important.
Really cool stuff man, thx
Duuude, that sounds awesome!
Yeah, I just got done going through all the comments again from the last couple vids, and I'm gonna pin this one to refer to later so I don't forget.
Shit man, I thought I was the only one doing that shit! It adds such a great feel to the game, and the patience needed is aggravatingly satisfying.
I use the future soldier sunglasses for using my hud.
Light up?
Me too
Only use the drone if you have the drone backpack
That's what I do
why?

Or if your teammate have one...🤷🏻♂️
Immersion in GRW? they should fix the disappearing dead bodies etc.
real talk
I didn’t notice that the bodies disappeared until I went to a sniper’s nest and took out the sniper and his guard with my pistol, then I scoped in to check out the tattoo on top of the guard’s head and thought:
“I wonder if the sniper has a tattoo on his head too!”
Sure enough, I walked over to the sniper to realize...he’s gone. I’m like, “wasn’t there a guy here,” and I looked over to find the other guy (I don’t know why, I guess I was gonna ask him if he saw that, too,) and he was gone, too. I sat for a few seconds, confused. And then I figured it out. Damn I’m an idiot.
The bodies get adbucted by aliens for research after You kill them
I'd like to see that as an option in settings.
1250 is Airborne standard from fixed wing aircraft, of course these guys are HALO jumpers so....
Why dont u use drones, it is completely authentic with todays sof
Steal a big plane, turn HUD off, crash it in the snowy mountains, turn after that difficulty to extreme and try to find civilisation.
You may find the legendary village
What is the legendary village?

What I do when I want a really good immersive experience either alone or with some friends is we all disable minimap, but then one "squad lead" or all of us (depending on what we decide) uses the Wildlands app's map on a tablet/phone as a "handheld GPS" type of device....
Really been enjoying your vids and rules like this really keep wildlands challenging and fun!
I love to role-play in this game, my favorite way to play is to only wear civil clothes, and use "low end" weapons, like stuff civilian can own easily. Never using the drone, never using NVG, avoiding helicopter or plane as much as possible
Ubisoft should pick this up and add it as a feature to the game, immersion mode or something like that
Jan Brutsaert now they kinda are going that direction :D
Jan Brutsaert they’ve kinda done that with ghost mode
Ghost mode sorta
Here’s something big for immersion I think. When using night vision, without crosshairs turned on, use the ATPIAL to aim in over the shoulder view. This is how the modern day soldier aims their weapon under night vision and it takes skill to pull off effectively.
nice, good tip :)
YES! That is great!
That's what I do and what has replaced cross hairs. If there was any piece of gear that you'd need to google for on a new game, it'd be that for aiming and immersion.
I just look through my holo sight. I never use over shoulder aim
Only do stealth missions at night
Patrick Dean but you have to be fast because night time is like 20 minutes long lol
Well in real life stealth missions are carried out in day light too though. Much like they can be in this game.
It depends, if I’m infiltrating a heavily secured area such as a Unidad base I’ll go in at night.

Too bad the advanced ballistics helmet isn't free :-(
Isn't it? I don't recall every buying it. Maybe it came from a past challenge. I don't remember, but I know it just showed up in my headwear options a while back.
Lol it costs $24 right now
Darkdally Well an alternative are the very ugly Scout Goggles but I don't know if people would sacrifice the aesthetic for the sake of immersion.
I use the cross com glasses as my night vision goggles.
@@Darkdally it's a challenge
Extreme was fun until defending radios became chore.
I think you’re videos keep me coming back to wildlands more than dlc and updates do. Thanks
I love your vids! There aren't many RUclipsrs who consistently post Ghost Recon Wildlands...
Yeah, for sure I will. There's been a lot of really good responses and ideas to these videos.
You have good ideas.
S0APMcTavish aww, why thanks!
Hey Dark, just subbed very recently and just got time to start watching through your videos. I never thought to play the game this way. I’m going to redownload it and try. Thank you for your videos, they’re truly awesome.
Nice man :) glad it makes you want to play again.
Got to remember the order: flare, c4, mine, flashbang, diversion lure, frag! (There is a song video sonewhere lol).
I play no-hud and hud-on depending how I feel. Sometimes leaving just Communication Markers On makes things a little simpler.
DaniBlazin when I play no-HUD, that's generally one of the few things I leave on just to help more easily direct friendly traffic.
Just look at his hand. They all look different.
Immersion is so important.
Makes it so more..... immersive 😅 and "realistic."
I just got Wildlands. Looking forward to playing this with the 1st person mod and setting my own parameters. Since Wildlands has such a beautiful world compared to Breakpoint I had to grab it.
>>>Games should have>>> "immersion mode",
1).Bodies dont disappear
2).Night vision better tuned, less brightness around street lights.
3).Thermal in black & white heat signature
4).No mini maps
5).Fast-Travel not possible.
6).Vehicles, only those already on location
7).No crosshair.
8).Hide dead bodies possible.
9).Drone, only with Drone backpack.
10). Night vision, only if equipped.
11).Gear equipping only at Ammo crates at locations.
Breakpoint will feature more of these presumably.
Can use the GRW App that has the game map in real time while you play. Love usong that when running with no or limited hud.
Is it still up whats it called
Any suggestions for another immersion loadout?
Yeah for sure I have more suggestions. Thanks to all the feedback from these videos, I will have future ones in the series combining all these great ideas.
I like everybody’s tips, thanks. But the only one I don’t like is the adv helmet for night vision. Not that I think it’s a stupid idea just how the helmet isn’t free. Also I tried on nvg before and they aren’t big and don’t have to be attached to a helmet so I just think of it being in my backpack
Or use the Crosscom glasses and/or Scout Headset because both of those you can get in game and would come with nightvision and thermal irl
Im using immersive glass for NV because for me they look like a NV glass .
Dude, you are preaching to the choir! I also love the lil Vikhr, such a well rounded assualt rifle. and compact too!
My loadout is the Mk 17, Desert tech HTI BDC, and M9
My friends and I like to do role play in wildlands for example on the mission you have to steal the gun boat we all dressed up in Vietnam type gear and used weapons from that war and it was really fun to go flying down this river shooting at enemy's on all sides while someone is playing fortunate son through the mic it really adds a unique way to play this game
Nice, just picked up the game whats the 'vietnam gear' youre talking about?
Would love to see a series on how to properly move your squad around when infiltrating
Its awesome that you listen to- and interact so much with ur community!
Thx for the vid :)
Yeah, thanks man :)
*DARKDALLY*
As far as the map....The way to do it is with a team(which you have),not randoms.
I run with no HUD except ammo/items,& thats it,even though i dont have a team.I mentioned before in another video, police officers have a laptop in their vehicle, & in pursuit, have to go back & forth in split seconds,so thats what i do.Look at the map for about 1-3secs,memorize as much as possible, so i dont have to check it again, for awhile.
drtbag39 that’s a good way to do it I wouldn’t use grenadier or saw gunner cause I’d be doing mercenary role play but yeah that would make sense
Cortland Roberts Yea,just wish i had a team....
If you’re on PS4 I’ll be getting mines really soon I’ll get the game and we can start new characters and stuff and do immersion with the story possibly create a task force out of it like I said though I’ll just be doing like mercenary role playing still immersion though
You on discord?
Cortland Roberts What do you mean,by Mercenary RP??
Theres no in game currency.
The tar 21 was the first one that I found and i was addicted to using it
Darkdally another amazing video. I don't know why people complain so much about Ghost Recon Wildlands. It amazing game if you take the time to explore create personal challenges.
Wilker Fernandes de Sousa exactly
they just have small imaginations and want everything done for them to their satisfaction
2:25 That was my old loadout then I switched from M4 to Aug
Really looking for a reason to hop back into this game. Anyone wants to play hardcore, limited hud? Psn erv_gotti91 hit me up! Im a 26 year old army vet and i love running ops in this game
Do you think you could do a video overviewing dlc. If you’re not paying attention when each new item comes out it can be confusing to know how to get what. Basically overview the things that are worth getting, which packs they come in, if they are stand alone, what you can only get in crates, and what is and isn’t a good deal. Some information might be redundant but it would be a very helpful summary for a lot of players, myself included.
Immersion tip: only use rebel skills in places where it would make sense for rebels to assist you with the selected skill
I rlly like the fact that our teammates can mark enemies. Not only they are telling us their locations but when they do that enemy is marked. Cool.
8:22 for HUD settings if anyone needs it
Hey if you’re using a weapon might be in case 17 you should probably be able to fold the butt stock in combat or just fold the butt stock in a jungle area for CQB
Love the video with the focus on the immersive aspects
19:00 you are missing out. Ghost war is a great adrenaline rush
I have tried alot of ARs but that TAR 21 is just so well rounded.
I wish the map could turn into just the compass, it'd be less intrusive to be constantly looking for your north than to know your exact location and some of the other map clutter
JeremyRm17 binoculars and drone have compass
I love me a TAR21... I also believe it's my favorite, from the simple fact, it was the first compact rifle I found I believe.
I just love creating realistic military outfits and even sometimes using the particular guns that certain military units use
I bought AR glasses in the store for my character. I use the AR glasses to explain how the hud might work in real life.
If you run no hud you'll learn the order of your secondary equipment. Just remember to return to your default option. Also for some reason they made it so you can no longer cancel C4 placement which I guarantee is what will annoy you the most when you 1st turn the ammo counter off lol
Another immersive rule. When I have to take a dump in real life, I'll make sure to choose a quiet spot ingame.
So I guess i'm not the only one...

The mini map is a must because AI cheats and laser pin points your location. If this was MGSV then we could do away without it.

Not a HUGE gameplay changer but it definitely adds to the realism. Only SMGs and LMGs can use full-auto. Burst is acceptable with certain weapons.
About the heli/creosshair thingy. I don't thing I would should down a heli like this in a real world scenario.
I don't see myself doing the "only use nv with the helmet" one cos u have to pay for it or get lucky with prestige points
Here’s an immersion tip. Only use your minimap(gps) while your in a vehicle.
I practice what gadget is where in the list and then turn everything off
don't be afraid to use some of your futuristic gear and keeping a full HUD is immersive when using the Futures to gear remember Ghost Recon Future Soldier takes place one year after Ghost Recon wildlands in the universe
Try to not use weapons for more immersion, use only fist 🤛 👊 🤜
Darkdalky, would you mind helping me do a bade infiltration, I keep trying and I always fail towards the end. I end up startling someone or someone that isn't marked comes up from behind me. I spend a lot of time waiting. I normally attack at 02:00 so most of them are asleep but there's always someone up in, for instance, F.O.B. Vibora. All me Recon and time goes to waste pretty much. If you could at least give me some tips it would be greatly appreciated.
The Tar-21 and the L-85 aka the SA80 are the two weapons I use the most though I've yet to pick it up in My current playthrough.
In the older games the HUD was part of the game and lore, like the little glasses u wore
There is one thing about the L85A2 in this game that completely destroys my immersion and makes me unable to enjoy or even use that rifle:
*The gun is in the middle of a stoppage.*
Seriously, just look at it.
So im getting back into wildlands to try and play the whole game 100% in 1st person and adding immersion i can say i play no HUD except sync shot markers and the items info i wish you could remove the wepon info and the equipment info i need to know what i have equipped but i also wish i didnt know how much ammo i have in a mag
yoo .. darkdally me and my friend when we play we assume roles .. so im a good shot so i scout out the base and i use the sr25 and hti bdc the sr25 for personel and hti if shit goes down and scout out 3 positions incase we get compromised if we are i move positions all 3 positions are rigged with mines and c4 while i am the over watch with the snipers and the drone my mate goes through the camp and i guide him he uses the mp5 made for quiet cqb takedowns also an acr that is basically a power tool with granade launcher if shit goes down along with m9 suppressed ... so the goal is to complete missions stealthy so i the sniper im in a full ghille suit 400+ meters away taking care of stragglers and my mate is like black ops hitman and we do very well mind you we are both on tier 5 right now ... just wanted to throw it out there and get your opinion for immersive gameplay keep up the great work
Yeah, my friend Skitchy and I do a similar thing. I'll have a closer look at this and see what I can do. thx :)
Me and dark have almost identical play styles I don’t know why but I love role playing as a American soldier in Vietnam
I always use helicopters so I'm insulting a ton of bases but I still barely have any weapons. I have only been playing for like 5 weeks so
What is the paint job for your m4? And how come it’s so polished and new? Other camos seem to be really worn down
am I the only one that loves the Tavor-21
edit: nope just saw him mention it haha
1st
Love your vids man, keep 'em comin'!
I feel the car rule can be used as a cheat like hop in a car change to loud gear and go like thats to much
I'd like to add a little something else to only using NVG with the Ballistics Helmet. Just because it isn't the only "option" for NVG or TG
Only use NVG and TG if you have the Advanced Ballistics Helmet on, the Cross-Com Sunglasses (if they're futuristic, it isn't too hard to believe that they also have vision modes) on or the Splinter Cell outfit on (it literally has a pair of multi-vision goggles).
