of course you have to do the Live version from the " PULSE " concert, many people on this planet are considering the solo in this version as the best ever played on earth.Greetings from Germany, nice reactiones
oh the live pulse version is beyond words for me. I hope they experience it at some time.
This concert is (or at least can be) a life changing experience. If you could listen to the solo all day, it's longer and even more intense on the Pulse video. Highly recommended
The solos differ every show, and there are versions of Comfortably Numb from that tour that have fantastic solos on RUclips, but likely not the version from Earl's Court that moyesboy1 is referring to. The one most fans go to as the ultimate version of the Comfortably Numb solo is this one: ruclips.net/video/vi7cuAjArRs/видео.html&ab_channel=idin
During the solo on Sorrow, I told ppl sitting next to me, we are witnessing greatness and the CN solo just solidified it. The best concert I've ever seen and I've seen most all classic rock bands during their days.
Pulse version will melt your faces off!!!
Pink Floyd= Expanding human consciousness for over 50 years. Peace to everyone on the path of higher consciousness...
Word.
Truth. I’m a massive fan of The Endless River (as the name suggests) and, in my opinion, having heard all of their albums, it’s the best. Not much vocals but it’s the raw feeling and completeness that I love. I think Comfortably Numb is, Gilmour’s best performance as far as emotion right up there Marooned.
✌❤
👍🔥
The live perfomance at "Pulse" is worth a watch! Usually brings in some views too
The best version by far :)
Pulse is a must see. You will get to see what their live show is all about. They started with their light show in the 60's and progressed to this. So awesome to see the awesome effects in sync with the awesome music. Haha A lot of awesomes there. Sorry.
The studio is the classic one
If you haven't yet, go watching Gilmour's version in Pompei in 2016
The live version from the Pulse Concert is a mush hear. David Gilmour's solo will blow you away.
I've heard it hundreds, maybe thousands of times, but that closing guitar solo can still make my hair stand on end.
just when you think that solo can reach no greater heights, it exceeds your imagination, even when you know it is coming. Endlessly remarkable
Stirs my soul like bagpipes.
Both solos are out of this world. The Wall and Pulse. (Although I do prefer Pulse version).
Asia: "Don't you do that"... Yeah, NEVER EVER interrupt a David Gilmour solo..... I'm going to Echo everyone else... Do this song LIVE AT PULSE. Also do Echoes from Pompeii early 70's.
PULSE Live version of "Comfortable Numb" is insane...
You think Pulse version is insane, then go watch Comfortably Numb Live in Pompeii. It will blow your mind.
COMFORTABLY.
That's the one I think of as the 'real' version now.
agreed!!! PULSE Live version of "Comfortable Numb" could be in the top 10 best concerts of all time. have to experience it before you pass into the next life. Dont miss out on it.
Absolutely..Positivity..
Pulse version Is the best performance of all time
I'll have to repeat what was said during the live event, the live pulse 94 concert of this song is as great of a ending solo that you will ever hear, David plays the full version and in this studio version they chopped over 2 minutes of it out. You will thank me later for having you experience it.
I'm 60 yrs old and got to 3 PINK FLOYD concerts. BEST BAND EVER!!
You should check out the Pulse concert and see this live. It will amaze you!!!
The child is grown the dream is gone ..so true but heartbreaking in its own way.....true for so many of us.
I always start to to tear up around this point
Please try to check out Pink Floyd performing Comfortably Numb live at the Pulse Concert (1994). The extended guitar solo and spectacular light show combine for an unforgettable performance that should not be missed.
I agree, You def need to see the live version from the "Pulse" concert....it is the greatest guitar solo of all time...it is a must reaction for sure and will change you
Sorry to repeat myself but Pink Floyd are deeper than the Mariana trench, cooler than an iceberg in a river of liquid nitrogen and more zen than 1,000 Buddhist monasteries. The solo in this song is extended on the Pulse live tour, definitely worth a watch for the epic guitar solo.
Love it,.Steve..I saw it before and wanted to memorize it but couldn't recall that it was you..I watch so many reactions .Repeating yourself is ok .
@@markdraine3571 Thank you, Floyd are more laid back than a lizard on a lounger in the sun sippin' cider :)
Totally....agree 10000000000000000..........%
@@steveparker8065 It was from the "Division Bell" album, the Video was Named "Pulse", I saw this Tour...
Honestly to get this album completely you need to watch the movie (probably several times)
the best version of comfortably numb is from the 1994 pulse concert origanal version not the reedited version
Gilmour is amazing and his voice is like velvet
One of the greatest guitar solos of all-time.
Loved this reaction! Roger Waters wrote the lyrics and said that the song is about two things. First, it's about how he felt as a child when he was sick with a high fever. It happened to him again after he'd become an adult where he went into a state of delirium and felt detached from reality. The lyrics "When I was a child I had a fever/My hands felt just like two balloons" describe exactly what he felt as a child. he says "I remember having the flu or something, an infection with a temperature of 105 and being delirious. It wasn't like the hands looked like balloons, but they looked way too big, frightening." Later in an interview at an LA radio station Waters' said a part of the song also refers to the time he had bad stomach cramps that he thought would keep him from going on. The doctor backstage gave him a shot of something he was sure could've killed an elephant and he did the show barely able to lift his hands above his knees.
Right, Right, Right! Thank You for dispelling the myth...
Yep!
Right, nowadays it’s so easy to look this stuff up, but people still post rumors they heard 20 years ago. There are videos you can watch of Waters explaining this, yet people still write their own bullshit opinions about what its about!
@@MikeB12800 They certainly do. This was what I learned from Waters chatting with the DJ at KLOS back in the very late 70's. Probably 79 or thereabouts. Anyway, KLOS was an awesome rock station. Dont know if they're still in existence. Haven't been back to LA in some 30 years or so.
@@tdb2012 probably not. I’m 30 minutes outside NYC, and rock radio is dead around here!
Pulse tour in '94.
I was there.
It changed my life.
You REALLY should experience the pulse live version.
There are no words.
Lucky you !
This is Pink Floyd having a psychological break before a concert. The doctor is giving him a shot to be able to perform.
The album works to this point. The album was made into a movie and follows his regression.
True story: He had a severe intestinal issue and a doctor came to get him well enough to perform for the concert, that's the basis for this song.
It's a must for you to see the live version at the pulse concert Earl's Court London 1994 it will blow your mind.plus the song was written because a band member got injured before going on stage and the injection that he was given so he could go on stage with the band gave him the feeling of being comfortably numb.
"I can't explain, you would not understand, this is not how i am."
The story of my life
David Gilmore is one of the greatest and least talked about guitarist of all time
Asia nailed it on the first pause. The original demo of this song was actually titled “The Doctor.”
So many people pushing you to watch the Pulse live version…and I get that, but I’ll always prefer the original studio cut because of the way the vocals between Waters and Gilmour play off of each other.
I like the orignal better too, Matt.
I agree, the Pulse version isn't bad, but this showcases the mastery the way concert performances usually can't.
@@fishhookism I've listened to this a thousand times and I still get tears on the solo at the end....
Obviously the original is better, the production is unmatched.
David Gilmour plays a little slower than other guitar gods, because each and every one of his notes has so much more to say, that it just takes a little longer. 😎
Gilmour takes his time to exude every emotion out of the guitar, as a follower of keyboard music. I have always loved Gilmour's work. Best guitarist ever. And yes the Pulse version is absolutely genius.
I'm not religious.... but I believe in David Gilmour.
It takes a little longer to dig deeper than the others
Is hard to be correct and wrong at the same time, congrats on your amazing feat.
The style of his music lends to the slow guitar.
In opposition late Eddie van Halen went fast.
Apple vs orange. Both are great! 😎😃
Gilmour takin' everybody to church with that second solo.
Favorite part of this vid is her saying to him, “DON’T” during the solo 😂
You like THIS solo? Watch this at the Pulse concert… 🤯
Check out pink Floyd comfortably numb pulse concert
1000% agree..........
This song is da bomb. Loved your reaction! The story behind this song was that bassist and one of the singers Roger waters was in a lot of pain due to an ulcer or some such and was medicated so he could perform live. He's the guy singing during the verses. The singer during the choruses ("There is no pain, you are receding, etc..." is David Gilmour, who also plays both of the awesome guitar solos in this song). Gilmour's guitar sound is truly singular.
Comfortably numb has kind of a double meaning in this song, the drug reference obviously, but reaching that point of being dead inside, where you are so numb to the world that you find comfort in it.
Replay and play this song from the 1994 live performance of Pulse. David Gilmour's solo is perfected there. And it is, of course, a visually perfect work ...
And the great David Gilmour mesmerizes again!!! Admit it, you were totally hypnotized by his guitar prowess!!! I'm still under his spell after 40+ years!!! Enjoy the journey!
Absolutely, their 1994 Pulse concert version of "Comfortably Numb" is off the charts! Not only the music, (which is phenomenal), but the Lazar and Light show with every song makes this whole concert a Show, a Great Performance.
Pink Floyd is Legendary.
Also "Sorrow" from the same 1994 Pulse concert, another incredible song
You really should react to the live version of Comfortably Numb from the PULSE concert. An INCREDIBLE visual experience, with the greatest (and most emotional) live guitar solo of all time.
here! here!
This is considered the greatest guitar solo ever...David Gilmore pulls you in and takes you on an unexpected journey...and every time I listen ...it takes me on a new journey
I’ll just reinforce what everyone else is saying. The Pulse live version of this song brings it to a whole other level.
Bless you! (for the sneeze) Pink Floyd is and has been my lifelong favorite group, I'll be turning 66 later this month. A lot of their lyrics are also excellent and deep. It's sometimes good to read the lyrics along with a song after you have heard it the first time so you don't miss the meaning, which is an individual thing.
Dave Gilmour is such a reserved and cool guy, but when he gets on his guitar he makes that thing sing with such emotion.
Legend says that Gilmour doesn’t need an amplifier, he just plugs the guitar directly into his soul. 🎸
There is a cord going from (the lead guitarist) David Gilmour's heart to his guitar.
Makes that guitar literally sing.
Incredible soloist.
I would never recommend anyone to react to the same song twice, except this one. The pulse version is a must, it will change your life👍❤🏴
Pink Floyd is one of a kind . Their music will definitely take you places.
You're gonna read a thousand comments to watch the Live Pulse version. A TON better. Man...PINK FLOYD = MAGIC!
Easily one of the most beautifull songs in rockhistory - lyrically as well as musically.
Asia, love the “I get it” look on your face, the smile you have when your do, is PRICELESS! Love that you BOTH get it!
Asia "don't you do that" when BJ was going to stop in the middle of the guitar solo. She knows "you just can't stop during a solo".
I've heard this song a couple times a week, every week, for the last 40 yrs.gives me chills every time.i still have the cassette tape of the album.its very well pl ayed, lol.great reaction guys.by the way ,the consensus in comments is do the the live pulse version.its honestly life changing ,mind altering.
You've now heard one of the most iconic guitar solos ever by one of the most unique musicians ever!! Glad you feel their vibe. Hope you listen to more Floyd.
the song isnt really about drugs tbh, the line 'when i was a child, i caught a fleeting glimpse out of the corner of my eye, i turned to look but it was gone, i cannot put my finger on it now the child has grown the dream is gone, i have become comfortably numb' summarizes the meaning of the song, its about how as we get older we forget our dreams and the things that made us feel such strong emotions as a child are just a fleeting glimpse now and we all can so easily become comfortably numb.
It is. There is a lot more to it than drugs, but it is definitely about drugs too. He even said he was sick, and a doctor gave him some drug that let him help him do a show. But since he doesn't specify that in the song (of course), it goes to any drug that makes you comfortably numb, specifically needle type. And a person can take what they want from it.
@@stanleymyrick4068 and in the movie the wall the lead singer 'pink' has overdosed as this song starts
@@saintdon4461 I've seen that movie more than any other movie on the planet, with and without meds. I can just about quote the thing from memory. I know he has overdosed, but the doctor came in and gave him a shot that let him 'keep you going for the show'. -- As a side note, I ordered Pink Floyd 'The Wall' from their website back in January. They kept saying a few weeks, they didn't have any in stock, etc... Cancelled the order the end of March. Guess have to get it off ebay
@@stanleymyrick4068 lol..ive bought the wall about three times but lost each one
The song was written in sections one being the time waters got hepatitis and got a shot and his arms and hands became numb but he performed anyways and none of the fans cared. Another line that keep That'll keep you going through the show," referring to getting medicated before going on-stage for stomach cramps. Then another section about light and dark being The light are the parts that begin "When I was a child...," which Gilmour sings. The dark are the "Hello, is there anybody in there" which waters sings.
I've always thought of this song as more being about depression. It's a song my brother related to a lot when he was depressed. The idea of "the child is grown, the dream is gone". I always saw the parts that sound like drugs as being about your brain's self defence mechanisms blocking you off and building a wall around you.
In the album both interpretations are pretty valid imo.
I'm going to have to slightly dispute that this being their best solo.....The one in Shine On You Crazy Diamond is pretty damn fine too
there isn't the best solo..........there is the solo that each prefer.........that's different. my favourite ones are (both solos) Confortably numb studio version....but who i am to say that they are the best? i can only say they are the best FOR ME
Agree.....and so sayeth my ears back in the mid70's when I heard the disturbing Ode to frontman Syd Barrett in '75!! But don't miss the forest for the trees.......these Gents did ROCK!!!! NO matter the cause or genre!!!
the 2nd solo often gets pole position in rankings, but it is always a toss up. Stairway to Heaven and Eruption and Bohemian Rhapsody and countless others have brilliant solos. Gilmour gets the nod because he does so much so slowly it is like a Glacial Diamond Cathedral
One of most iconic performances of all time it's Pink Floyd with one of the greatest stage shows ever just what you would expect from them
For me this song is about the first time my Boy gave me Triple Widow pane and asked me all kinds of questions before we dropped Acid to make sure I could handle it! (The Greatest experience of my life) Even though some would consider me Highly successful now I would trade it all for that feeling of bliss!!!
Dave Gilmour is the master at “workin” the blues scale on the guitar.
It's funny you bring up, " Why would I listen to this crap?", My music diversity has increased widely over the last decade. Now I'm listening to stuff I scoffed at once upon a time thinking, "You know what? This is actually really incredible work!" Thank you for giving Pink Floyd a chance, my all time fav, but also... how great is it to stretch those boundries?
As you go through life your brain experiences change, so you can find that music you disliked, or were indifferent to at one point in time, you find you like years later. This can even apply to an artist you like!
You know, I heard all these songs 30 or 40 years ago. I LOVE them but when I watch you all react to them it feels like I'm watching it again for the first time. Thank you for that!
I love the honesty and sincerity of your reactions, there's no bs. You guys are so refreshing, and I'm glad I found the Hall and Oates vid this morning. Take care.
Easily my favourite band, David Gilmour is a God. You should react to their song Keep Talking, from the PULSE concert 🔥
David Gilmore can express every emotion thru a guitar
All the greats do... and he certainly is one of them...
So lucky. Went to see Roger Walters do the whole of the Wall in concert at the O2 arena in 2011 and he brought Dave Gilmour out on stage
It’s a song about medication but not street drugs. Roger Waters did have a fever when he was a kid and was given a drug. Later he was doing a gig and he was in pain. A doctor gave him a shot to help him. He got so spaced out he just about managed to do the next set but was so far gone he couldn’t do an encore.
Try whole albums: Dark side of the moon, Wish you were here, The Wall, Meddle, Atom heart mother, Ummagumma. Look for songs: Echoes, Atom heart mother, Shine on crazy diamond, Saucerful of secrets, Interstellar overdrive.
I love how Asia stopped you from pausing during the solo. You we're about to get your hand slapped.
This song is a cry from Pink Floyd, telling how the music executives treated the artists in the 70's and 80's. Using speed to get performers ready to go out on stage, no matter their condition. The beginning represents the managements doctor questioning the artist before injecting him/her to be able to preform.
One of the best guitar solos ever...by one of THE BEST EVER!
Yeah, this version doesn’t hold a candle to the Pulse live one!
What? Not the live version???
Pink Floyd has always been one of my fav bands. Only fav band I did not get to see live in concert. Still bums me out. Love you guys. ML&R
Saw Pink Floyd live in 1986 Atlanta Ga. The Omni.. The most beautiful and awe inspiring band I’ve ever seen..
PULSE CONCERT
This is my favorite Pink Floyd song❤️As a younger person headphones and a joint was a good time😂😂😂CREEKSQUAD
i was lucky enough to see the Pulse tour in Vancouver BC with 80,000 other folk. 80.000 like minded souls dancing together and sharing a magical moment in time together. It was a beautiful feeling.
Just one dumb, drunk mofo that got his ass stomped, the other 79,999 people were all in love with each other. Magical
This song is totally about drugs and how when you get numb, you lose the pain and the joy. You guys nailed it.
The best way to listen to Pink Floyd. You need to get some black lights in a dark room with a pair of old school headphones. Sit back in a beanbag chair and press play. If you get a chance watch the movie The Wall
It should be known that this song is part of a bigger story. The album The Wall is a concept album, a fictional story of a boy growing to an adult named Pink. The album documents his life and living with an over protective mother, his journey in his relationships, his mental states and musical career. Comfortably Numb is set at a time where he was not well and where the doctor would give him a "pick-me-up" shot to get on with the show. The Fever and Balloon hands he mentioned as a child was Pink reverting back to that feeling.
This part was inspired by Rodger Waters (the first vocalist and bassist of the band) who said it was from real experience where he once had to get a shot to go on stage one night after feeling ill and exhausted... according to popular myth.
The second vocalist with the smoother voice is David Gilmour who provides all the epic guitar work for Pink Floyd.
As many have said, make sure to do the live "Pulse" version of this song, AND the Pulse (restored and re-edited) "Sorrow".
You are in for a show!!!
nice reaction y'all, Pink Floyd- Wish You Were Here is one of the best Floyd songs ever
This song is a textbook example of something I think was great about a lot of classic rock artists from back in the day. They weren't in a hurry. This song takes it's time. They don't rush through it. They don't care if it ends up being 3 minutes long or 13. And they didn't care of radio stations played their songs or not, but of course they all did and still do. One message that Pink Floyd tries to get across in a lot of their music is to embrace and enjoy life. Don't rush through it. Don't waste it. Live life. Because before you know it, it'll be over.
Definitely listen to their song Great gig in the sky
In an interview Waters said that much of the song comes from something that really happened one evening when, in order to allow him to perform in Philadelphia, the doctor gave him a sedative for a severe stomach ache. On the stage, his hands were numb and his vision blurred, but none of this derailed the crowd, who continued to dance and sing.
Another of my fave classic bands and my fave song of theirs! David Gilmore rocks on that guitar! the '02 Arena live version, for me is the best...it's out there on RUclips somewhere..it's great. Gilmore's guitar solo through this brings tears to my eyes every time. He's amazing.
Anyone that’s takin LSD and watched the Wall can tell you they were made for each other! 🤘🏻🤟🏻
This song when used in the movie The Wall, was a conversation with his manager trying to wake him up from being too drugged up and trying to get him ready for a concert. His dialog are the inner thoughts going on at the time.
NEVER get tired, after 50 years, of listening to Pink Floyd. Complete masters of the 70's classic rock and still relevant.
Two things that built a wall in Roger Waters heart for a while was the pain of losing his father at a young age in WWII and the drugs affecting the first singer in Pink Floyd Syd Barrett. This song combined his feeling in this song
Pink Floyd is in the Guinness Book of Records for the Dark Side of the Moon album.
It was in the Billboard top 200 for over 700 week's wish is over 20 year's.
From the first song on there albums to the last it tells a story.
I've been lucky to have seen them 3 time's
Maybe the greatest show ever.
But anyway Great Reaction you two
Stay Safe ❤️❤️❤️
Sitting in a Bean Bag chair with black lights on with black-light posters on the walls - your mind is now on a trip with Pink Floyd - guess you can see I am old but I was young when I started to listening to them -lol
Roger does the theatrical vocals and David comes in with those smooth Beach Boys sounding vocals and harmonies. They compliment each other so well. David can scream and get gravely in some PF songs as well.
It' part of a concept album which is also a movie. The main character is Pink, a musician. In this scene they found him in his room after a breakdown because of stress, drugs, alcohol and psychic problems.
You know what I'm going to say here...you gotta here the Pulse live version and even the live at Pompeii. Similar performances with slight variations but both will give you chills with that guitar solo! Guaranteed chills y'all!!
Now you are ready for Comfortably Numb live to Pulse concert 1994 = best live guitar solo by David Gilmour .. 😎👍🎸
Everyone is going to tell you to watch the live remastered PULSE version, and that is most certainly a worthy suggestion as it is in the top 5 best Gilmore renditions of that song...the 2nd best is the original Wall tour in London, but you can't get a video from that concert just bootleg copies of the preamped mix from the audio world. The BEST version of David playing this song is 'David Gilmour, Live at Pompeii part 2', where David(+70yrs old) uses the feedback to oscillate his guitar to make a scream you would swear the souls of that hallowed place (the Amphitheatre) scream through his guitar in a sliding pitch that will shake your soul. It is such an amazing performance that the band members on stage can't contain themselves, laughing and smiling at their great fortune to be a part of and a witness to, the greatest guitar performance in the history of mankind. Their joy and awe go unconcealed throughout the majority of the song and it is a beautiful thing to see long time playing professionals get the epitaph moment of their career all the while we the spectator gets to bear witness to it and why it is such an epic moment.
The song isn't about drugs, btw...Roger Waters wrote it and claims it is about a near death experience of his childhood. Most people make the connection to drugs partially because of how easy it fits, but also because of the movie 'The Wall' has this song being the scene where Pink gets treated for a mental breakdown and drug overdose in order to make him functional for a concert. A key phrase to back up Roger's position is that the narrator says he has become comfortably numb BEFORE the Dr's injection...comfortably numb is referenced to no longer feeling life/alive, as in comfortably numb to the effects of life, booth pleasure and pain...backed up by the phrase 'there is no pain you are receding'.
Personally I felt the guitar solos on the Animals album, especially on the 'Dogs' tracks, are even greater and more spiritually moving, but there isn't a good live version of that to point to.
Time is another great hit from them. Some say that Gig In The Sky is a good one too. Money is always fun to listen to. Check out the live concert version of this; it's colorful. Welcome To The Machine is my favorite.
This song was originally titled The Doctor. The doctor is speaking to 'Pink', who is catatonic. It's his mental state, and not drug induced. He has dissociated from reality, and built a metaphorical 'Wall' around himself. That's the reason he is 'Comfortably Numb'. Pink is responding to the doctor with an internal dialogue. The drug is what the doctor gives him to perform the show.
PS when the video went a bit blurry during the solo, I like to think that was your camera being emotionally moved by the eloquence of David Gilmour's guitar solo.
I also think you can interpret this bounces off of "Time" that when you get older, you become comfortable numb to life and forget how much more you felt life as a child. You can remember it, but not feel that same wonder in the moment, in my humble opinion. Music hits us all in different ways. That's the beauty of it. I can see how they see it, how I see it, and how the artist says it was really about.
In 2016 in LA went epic with some friends and saw David Gilmour at the Hollywood Bowl on a Friday and we were so gassed we went back on Sunday to see him at the LA Forum. Amazing shows. Six months later I saw other band member Roger Waters in DC. Both epic shows, it's Gilmour by a tick. Asia my love you got it right and shared an important Floyd lesson. Wherever you are, whatever you're doing, never, ever interrupt a David Gilmour solo. "Don't you do that!" Well done. LOL
The lyrics of this song heavily reference his father's death in combat in WWII- when Roger Waters' father was killed in a ditch in Anzio, Italy after being surrounded. ...Roger was only 5 mo's old- his father's body was never recovered. ....all he had growing up was a single black and white photo of him sitting on his fathers knee.....lyrics- "a distant ships smoke on the horizon" - "when I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse- out of the corner of my eye"- "I turned to look but it was gone"- "I cannot put my finger on it now- the child has grown- the dream is gone"..... there are numerous other lyrical references to his father's death in other Pink Floyd songs - "When The Tigers Broke Free" is one of 'em...."Free Four" is another one- and there are other lyrical references sprinkled throughout the Pink Floyd library......
This is my favorite song of all time!! I was very fortunate to be able to see them in concert 3 times. I copied this from a site named Auralcave, "In an interview released in the 80s, Waters said that much of the song comes from something that really happened one evening when, in order to allow him to perform in Philadelphia, the doctor gave him a sedative for a severe stomach ache, which had probably caused by nerves. On the stage, his hands were numb and his vision blurred, but none of this derailed the crowd, who continued to dance and sing. And it was out of this that one of the main themes of The Wall came about: the disconnect between the public and the band."
As almost everyone else has mentioned - watch the "Pulse" version of this. Pink Floyd, like the upcoming young band The Warning (had to mention them) are best watched live, especially the "Pulse" show,it's the defining version of "Comfortably Numb"
This song is where Prince got his revolving strings - which he used in so many of his earlier songs.
