It was a week or 2 overdue to be cleaned. The engine and generator sea strainers are nothing like this, this is the Air Condition strainer, and It runs 24/7 sometimes, while sitting in marina water.

One job I absolutely hate is changing/cleaning filters ,I think they put them in hard to reach places trying to get owners to take them to a professional ,but we sailor are well versed in boat gymnastics

You can tell by the state of the filter, we put it off for an extra week or two. That one is difficult to Access, but the main engine one is nearly impossible to get out without breaking the handle off of the strainer, we’re debating removing the handle just so we can get an in and out easier.

This one is gonna stick, everyone should be checking sea strainers on a regular basis

Thanks. We have spent all day trying to unclog the thru hull for the generator.

I think I would have taken that strainer out onto the dock and cleaned it with the hose.
