Joseph Zbukvic is one of the leading contemporary watercolor artists and it's from one of his books. He is amazing. If you have a chance have a look (it's very hard to get hold of his books thought...as of his workshops.)
I just happen to have order some of the brushes you mentioned ( before i even watched your video ) now i have some idea of the fun and help in how to use them Thank Nina 🤗
Hi Vera, I usually buy my brushes from Jackson's Art. I don't know where you live and if they deliver there. Dainayw Squirrel brushes are from Ali Express. Which I highly recommend price vs quality - they are amazing. I have a set of #5, #3, #1, if you add an Escoda Perla #10 (stiffer brush with fine point for smaller shapes and details) to this and a Silver Black Velvet Script #1 (for very fine details, such as wires, tree brunches, etc) from Jackson's Art that's all you need to start.
@@nvfineartstudio7296 thank you very much for the reply. I live in Colorado USA so I'll look for the items you mentioned on Amazon. Again thank you for the beautiful content, inspiration, and very detailed information.
Yes, definitely! Big brush holds more water, it not only means it can cover large area, it means that your wash will be moist enough to form the bead and stay wet for longer. It's not just the size of the paper, it's the capacity of the brush to hold and gradually release the water. I feel like I need to update this video, maybe in the next couple of weeks. Hope it will shed more light on the topic.
No te preocupes por la marca. Tengo cepillos naturales de fregona China Dainayw, precio por 3 el de esto, son una maravilla! Son de Amazon o AliExpress.
I just can’t bring myself to kill or harm or torture an animal for this purpose. Synthetic is getting better and better. Just like the world. Thank you for the comparisons Nina.
Thank you Glenda, I know, it's a tough decision. I finally found a brand that produces good imitation brushes - NEEF. (I'm very disappointed with Escoda and other popular brands, not good for larger format and the point is often rough)
Congrads on Patreon! Hope you get lot's of supportes! you make beautiful art and great videos.
Thank you Xi!
Thank you Nina....this demo will help me to understand the right selection of brush. Hoping you can share your color palette, too.

😲That accent is lovely!
Thank you 😊
Can you list the brushes so we can know the exact names to buy and try them?
I wonder why she never named them so it’ll be easy for us to find them.
You can meet her in the middle and listen to when she states the manufacturer and model of each brush, often multiple times
Very informative!
Thank you Sue! I'm so glad!

Would you use big brushes for a4 sized paper?
