I've had probably 10 of the 67-72 Ford's VERY good old (now) trucks, all the doors worked like yours, all ran great most had exhaust leaks, that's a great truck!!!

Too bad you didn't make a video of pressure washing the crust off the truck. They seem to do very well on YT. But congrats on getting it running. Sounds pretty healthy.
I had a '72 XLT Ranger back in the early 1980's . The 390 was a beast but was always easy to start even at -30F. The biggest problem with them was the front cab mount boxes would rust and the cab would drop down and bind the lower steering column bearing causing it to steer hard.
Who doesn't Love classic Ford Trucks. I am so happy to see her revived. Call a Locksmith to have the original key made. Motor sounds smooth and sweet. Good Job !!! My fellow Carguy.
This reminds me of the one garage330 video I followed him and watched all the video he made on the truck.then he put an L.S motor in it and my interest was lost. I know it's his truck he can do what he wants with it but I think it's better to Keep it ford..
Ls produce cheap power on a budget and they are solid motors. Ford purist hate it. LS is the new 350 from the old days. Everyone running it and the upgrades are a dime a dozen .
what a great truck..i had a 72 f100 4x4 with a 360 and new process 435 tranny ..had it for 14 long and reliable years....i wish i could find something just like this...again what a great truck
Fantastic score! Love old Ford Pickups. I once owned a ‘70 F250 Camper special with west coast mirrors. Was a wonderful running and driving truck! Reliable and powerful 390 with an RV cam.
That’s just like my 72 Ranger XLT except the tool box… Mines like a goldish brown color with the old school slot wheels…💪🏼😁 Mine was an original 302 truck with the 3 on the tree. The 302 starts better than most vehicles nowadays. I bet it doesn’t turn over a half a revolution before it starts…😂 Somebody tried to rig up the 3 speed on the column with a floor shifter…🤦🏻 I had originally planned on putting a fuel injected 351w and a 5 speed in it… But idk man, after 51 years it would almost be a shame to mess up an all original truck. Thank you so much for saving these old trucks… People just don’t have the patience or the know how to get them running anymore. I’ve wanted an old Ford truck like that since I was a teenager and I’m about to turn 40 next month. It’s like a dream come true for me…😁
Right, and it turned out to be such a nice truck. The person I sold it to has taken care of it, and it is looking great. Thanks for watching one of the oldies.
That paint would probably look pretty decent once it is buffed out. It runs like it never sat. That is the best running first start i have ever heard. That thing wants to go.
nice truck . reminds me of the 68f100 my Dad used to have before he sold it in 2000. i drove it quite a bit too back then. he should have given it to me but nah, he thought it was too much work for me. sigh. lol
I have a 72 350 that has a dump bed on it with the 300 cubic inch inline 6. It doesn’t run and has been parked for over 20 years. Me and my dad are working on getting it home to fix it and make the truck pretty again. Yesterday, me and my grandpa put a battery in it and only some of the lights worked. It’s a super cool truck and I can’t wait to have it running.
Love the bumpside ford ive actually started to buy both a bumpside 72 f100 longbed and a 72 f250 longbed both were fe 360 trucks but I ended up buying or trading around to a gm square body k20 both times lol
You did amazing well & you will never be sorry you rescued it. I have an 1988 High Boy I rescued and have almost 5K in it at the moment & she is still parked all in pieces. I have to replace a door bottom on it and JFY resto guys the later model trucks have the louvers in the bottom of the door.... LMC does not sell that panel not at all. That is one of the major hold ups getting her back together I had to retro the doors back together to save her original doors. The pass side came out alright looks really amazing. But it took forever. One coat fiberglass and it took about 6 coats of mud & glazing. It is a process.
Would love to see this truck cleaned up maybe a lil wax some new wheels my dad had a 75 model in 79 she was a brute thanks sir for bringing back a memory
Easy and cheap to buy a kit from LMC truck to just replace the ignition and door keys lock and all. 390 is a great motor. I've had a few, converted 360s into them, stroked them out, and I've had them in cars, trucks and a grain truck got one out of a station wagon. It's been used to death for 15 years. Best simple mod is a cap and rotor update to 2 piece ford cap, and a pertronix ignition system
Yep, she’s a special one at that… and it’s a V8 to boot!I watching out for the V8’s as the I6’s are a turn complete off, unless it’s one of the Big 6’s like in a commercial truck of sorts…and you m do terrific work and videos.

I liked the excitement that showed on you when the truck started. That was a blast of adrenaline. Not sure but during those years with Ford they might have had the twin V suspension.
I bought a 77 new in 77 for $4,200 (sticker $5,500) only hated it at the gas pumps. Got $2,000 for trade in on a 4 cylinder in 86. Accidently met the new owner at a Hardee's was shocked he payed $4,000 for a ten year old truck with 50,000 miles on it.
@@whattherust In 1996 I bought a 1974 Ford F-250 for 750$, that was painted primer black. I tuned up the 6.4 litre FE 390 and it was a good knock around pickup that was good for towing boats but the cab mounts started to rust out.
Ford stuff! I own a 1973 super camper special...and enjoying every minute of restoring it...

Amazing how that started up so easy. Nice find! Love the old ford trucks. Big V8 is a plus. Hope to see more videos.

As a 16 year old kid I loved the old 390 / 429 Ford's, super easy to fix, 68 Country Squire, 71 Marquis, gunboats of choice !!
Right on.
Too bad you didn't make a video of pressure washing the crust off the truck. They seem to do very well on YT. But congrats on getting it running. Sounds pretty healthy.
Actually cleaned it with soap and water. Once the gunk softened up, it came off fairly easy.

Yes! Get that beauty back on the road!
That is my goal for the weekend. Check back soon!

At Vet Kid. Even my 1963 and 1964 F100s had that same problem with those cab mounts. Very little Clutch peddle and the steering also!
Same problem my '78 F150... and firewall lip hitting air cleaner...
