Took him to ER at 1 in morning after throwing up fluid then making mess on floor. Thought he was good after a month of no stinky's on floor. Then problem happened again. Went to another Vet who recommended lab work. Finally got it done after my regular clinic hired a new doctor and was told on phone by another Vet that he had Diabetes. I was heartbroken. Love my P J. So was at yet, another clinic who DID have insulin after my regular clinic said they don't. Had to spend another $100 because they have to do exam "by law". So they got the meds and showed me how to inject him with proper amount 2 times a day. Had to give my neighbor left over Friskies (wet and dry) and now give him D/M prescription cat food-wet and dry. No more Friskies. Cleaning up the mess was hard. Now I have to catch him after eating to put him in bathroom so I can give him his shot. If I don't he'll hide where I can't reach him.This is a situation I never thought I'd have to encounter. But I would hate myself if I did anything otherwise. He's my buddy (almost 8 years) till the end. Want to keep him happy and healthy. That's what I'm going to do. Even with paws in mouth at 6AM.
I love cats. I am 65 and have had a total of cats in my lifetime. They do have an independent streak but if you shower them with love and affection it will be returned twofold. They are also a great source of entertainment, especially if you have two of them.
Love my cats (cpl of 3yr old brothers). One negative: They do not believe anyone should sleep past 5am. 5:45 at the latest. Other than that, they’re perfect

I had an adopted grown black cat with green eyes…very sweet y runs with me along the ponds y river by our house…she is ver protective or jealous 😂…one’s remarked ‘ she is like a dog running ‘; here is the unusual story: one morning I saw this huge rat on its back on a piece of huge log ,with an open belly but the innards weren’t even touched…Jesus …the strangest scene but I did asked her😅to investigate more 😅😊

I should have thrown another log or two on the fire, or got another blanket. But it was so cold, I decided to stay in bed and just go to sleep if I could. I was lying on my side, and Monk noticed I was awake and shivering a little bit He got in between my chest and my arms, and got as close to me as he could, and he started purring louder than he ever had before. Just trying to keep me warm. What a sweet, beautiful soul. After that I couldn't go to sleep, but I didn't want to get up to get a blanket, because I didn't want him to think he wasn't doing a good job. He's just about the best friend I ever had.
Yes, i found out or lessons learned , having a cat bond to you all depends on how much time you interact or be around your cat. The less you interact, the more you will not see them as much as cat grows. They will abandon an owner once they find someone who do make the time of staying with new owner. Once you avoid your cat , your cat will never bond with you.
Yes, in my early 20s I had 2 cats which I assumed they be with me but being in my 20s I was hardly home and both ended up running away. They came to visit me a year later only to leave as they stopped to look back knowing I'm not their special person. I'm now in my early 50s with mother cat and 3 kittens which I spend all day with and they all loyal like dogs of impressing me of the effort I did for my latest pets.

I think cats are beautiful creatures and I would like to have one. The sad fact is that most cats like to hunt (whether they are hungry or not) and they decimate local wild birds. I have seen local cats catch and kill fledglings numerous times in my local neighbourhood. It's and instinct that cats still have despite thousands of years of domestication. Unlike dogs who don't pose much of a threat to wildlife. Owning a cat is not good news for local birds.
