I honestly just watch your videos because I find them incredibly satisfying and amusing, even thought I have no almost no interest in wood working. The cinematography is perfect and I love how raw all the sounds are. Keep it up! Great work :-)
@andy rawls its been more than a year since i started watching your videos.. now i am very much used to your workshop. i know where exactly the things are kept :) great work
Nothing beats super skinny pins. So nice, and machines just can't do em. Actually Im not sure, there probably IS some sort of machine/powertool method out there that can replicate super thin pins. Anyways, awesome video and build as always Andy!
Do you think it would work if I take this design and scaled it up to make a small table? Or would it require extra stabilisation such as a crossbeam or a wider base?
Just a question about your dovetails. As I see a lot of dovetail ends are cut about the same size, but yours are quote large on one end and the other skinnier. You find this to be better structurally? I'm just curious as I am just getting into woodworking a lot more. Great videos.
Andy, I'm sure you have answered this question before. Why don't you use the Japaneses saws? I can practically hear the extra friction you are getting with that thick miter saw. I'm only asking because your skill level is so much higher than mine that it can't be measured with any device is existence today.
Daddy Warcrimes I was wondering the first time I watched it how he got such sweet lines I didn't even notice the pencil! Just happen to see this and went back and looked
Hey Andy, enjoy your work! However, it appears to me that you might be developing a carpal tunnel injury in your right hand. The reason? I shake my hand just as you do and I have CT but from repetitive key strokes on a computer keyboard. Just an observation!
Narrow pins and wide tails are very fashionable, probably because you can't cut them that way with a router, though they have a history that goes back to at least the 18th century from some pieces I've seen.
It strikes me as funny and weird that you will wear a respirator when dealing with fine dust but I have yet to watch a video with you wearing safety glasses. I don't always wear them myself just when dealing with fast flying debri or something molten
+Jeremy Stamper you do make a good point, although I don't think it's funny or weird, more of just a bad habit and a little stupid. I should wear safety glasses anytime I work with power tools and most of the time I do. When I'm shooting video, I'm typically going back and forth from camera to machine, and I'll take them off and forget to put them back on. Got to get better at it!
You are by far my favourite woodworker on RUclips and believe me, I follow you all. Thanks so much.
amazing how entertaining watching something like joinery can be... i can never get enough of it.
I dont even ready the title to see what he is doing. Just watch he doing anything and the end is just a bonus.
It's 4:26 AM Sunday morning right now which means its time to watch Andy's new video.
Good camera angles on the cuts. Good Vid! Thanks
I don't think I could bring myself to step on it. Way to nice!
Man I’m really loving the deep 3 shots. Your form has improved and you’re pulling up in spots I never would’ve expected. Great job.
Loved the ending. The stuff you make and create is awe-inspiring
It really is amazing what you can do with hand tools. Its so precise and much more rewarding! Good job
Wow never gonna look at a Dove tail the same way... never realized all the work that goes into them
Lucas Murphy oh yeah, especially these, he made the fingers so small, it seems like it would be extra dificult.
You certainly did justice to that wood, and I love the close shots in your video. Nice in every way.
Amen....beautiful work...rr
Hola
I can't get enough of your videos. Love it man keep on doing your thing.
I honestly just watch your videos because I find them incredibly satisfying and amusing, even thought I have no almost no interest in wood working. The cinematography is perfect and I love how raw all the sounds are. Keep it up! Great work :-)
Nothin' but net at the end.
Another great video as always Andy! Makes me wish I was that good at woodworking!
The sounds of woodworking are great
@andy rawls its been more than a year since i started watching your videos.. now i am very much used to your workshop. i know where exactly the things are kept :) great work
I'm a brazilian, and I love your job, its a amazing!!!!
Great job.
From brazil!!!!
Simple, but beautiful. Love yer work.
Damn brother, Nice work, I have the same Marples chisels for 20yrs I have never had an issue with them holding an edge.
You're also as bad at basketball as me, hah! Nice work dude. Lovely dovetails.
I'm a huge fan. This is my favorite of your videos. Also, sweet mustache dude
Love your stuff bro. Keep it up👍
Glad i'm not the only woodworker into mtbiking!
I really enjoyed your build of this step stool. I guess the thumbs down are from those not liking your basketball skills.
Excelente Andy......quedó bien firme de la manera que lo hiciste....!!!
Te saludo desde Argentina....buena suerte...!!!
Very nice DTs! I made one similar few weeks ago! Cheers
This kind of video makes my day.
Lovely skill. Would love to learn something like this wood work.
Rob Cosman would be proud.
As always, nice editing.
Nice stool, I think I'll give it a try when I can finally purchase my own tools ^^ Anyway, awesome video, keep it up!

Gorgeous stool!
Fantastic as always
super video. Beautiful joints for some lovely wood. Best wishes
Do you think it would work if I take this design and scaled it up to make a small table? Or would it require extra stabilisation such as a crossbeam or a wider base?
did you rollover the edge with the back side of the spokeshave?
Love it. I would make the pins wider and the dovetails thinner. Closer to semtrical. I feel it should be a sturdier joint. And I like the look better.
What kind of finish do you use?
Andy where did you do your chizzles
Will you upload the plans?
It would be cool to see you make a longboard.
Great video. How is your work table made?
You are my favorit woodworker👍🌳
What finish did u use on it
Those bench dogs are awesome, are they custom?
This video has inspired me to make a stool like this. Thanks
Where did you get your fret saw?
Nice job man.
Incredible!
Hey Andy, what finish did you use on that? Tongue oil or a linseed oil??
Subscribed because i want to see something about the bench in the background
7:45 the whole video is well done, but this part is the best👌
Yaaay new video
dovetails! my worst enemy in woodwork
Its funny when you randomly throw the ball😂😂
Lots of hand cut dovetails in thick texas pecan, you my friend are a masochist....
Don Chesser I’m not familiar with woodworking, is thick Texas pecan wood a nightmare to work with?
Just a question about your dovetails. As I see a lot of dovetail ends are cut about the same size, but yours are quote large on one end and the other skinnier. You find this to be better structurally? I'm just curious as I am just getting into woodworking a lot more. Great videos.
Absolutely beautiful, how long did it take to make all the tongue and groove fit that nicely?
Wood is flexible so if there's minor imperfections (>0.5mm) or uneven cuts, it'll still fit. Any tiny gaps will be filled with wood glue.
Too many people out there talking and teaching a lesson. I prefer watching the work getting done. Inspirational
Don't know if you check comments, but could I get the name of those chisels? Beautiful dove tails!

All that time building and no close-up shots at the end? I would've loved to see a bit more of the stool.
Great video!! Do you watch Wranglerstar's woodworking videos?
Do you have a company?
Awesome!!!
Brava!
7:57. Dammit woman I am trying to work!! I am almost finished!
This was sooo cool keep up the great work ur the best
Notification squad where ya at
Also not to be annoying FIRST
Goddamn this is so soothing to watch
I get the feeling you cut that pencil specifically for this build.
I did!
Daddy Warcrimes I was wondering the first time I watched it how he got such sweet lines I didn't even notice the pencil! Just happen to see this and went back and looked
I had to do this in my wood shop class in highschool and I kept messing up my tails for my tool box. I ended up with a toy box.
Hey Andy, enjoy your work!
However, it appears to me that you might be developing a carpal tunnel injury in your right hand. The reason? I shake my hand just as you do and I have CT but from repetitive key strokes on a computer keyboard. Just an observation!
i like it
superb
Cool
love
Hi
dove tails seem a little to thick on the top and to thin on the legs but it give it a interesting look
Narrow pins and wide tails are very fashionable, probably because you can't cut them that way with a router, though they have a history that goes back to at least the 18th century from some pieces I've seen.
Could you make birds cage ? if you please, Creator
Muaad Farid Asgher he might not have a bird so there's probably no point
nice---
Beau travail ! (French haha)
legit
yep you lean from Paul sellers alright good one
Image pounding it in and one of the pieces breaks
I’m thinking that stool is going to last forever
No weight limit on that thing either
Still better than shaq with free throws
i'll take it

Andy Rawls well I won't hound you about it just be safe!
I feel like that was a lot of work just for a step stool 😂

Swoosh right at the end
Kewl cool xD
