Ok...this is so far my favorite episode of Historyland. I'm blown away not just with the writing, but the great story it tells, and the amazing editing. THANK YOU
Yay!
I'm ALWAYS here for Mary Blair!
You make your channel so intriguing and unique. I love the vintage commercials...nobody is using this medium like you are to bring us down memorylane like you have. Excellent!
Thank you 😁
I’m surprised that there was no mention of the strike and how the goodwill mission was a well timed opportunity to have Disney step out while his brother negotiated with the strikers and allowed tensions to cool. But that may have been too much of a side track XD
Dang it Matt! The Anticipation commercial made me cry! That was the first time I saw that commercial in like ten years and I’m still in shock that I’m getting to go back.
Wow...just wow... I don't know you could manage to make Historyland even better, but you did! Holy moley, this is good stuff! The editing, the presence, the research, and the narrative thru-line of Mary Blair make this so much more than a mere history video. You have made Disney history artistic! Plus....Walt and El Grupo!! ;)
Thank you so much!
I love Mary Blair’s art style
7:42 It feels like that was on every Disney VHS tape I watched growing up
I also love how it changes for the holidays
It is amazing how so many talented people worked for Mr, Walt Disney.
Great video! I love this playlist
I did a selfie video in 2009 with Richard Sherman @ an IAAPA convention singing It's a Small World. I truly love this ride. Hawaii in the Florida version is one of my favorite scenes. I do love the facade in Disneyland. Another reason for them not to bring the original tower back...#1 was cost #2 pieces would occasionally fall from the tower! Not what you would want at Disneyland. Mary's tile work in the Contemporary Resort Hotel (WDW) has a great Grand Canyon Mural, complete with a 5 legged goat. LOL
If anyone has the chance, you must go to the Walt Disney Family Museum at the Presidio in San Francisco and visit the Nine Old Men exhibit. It's astonishing.
currently watching this at 1:30 in the morning because I'M LEAVING FOR DISNEY WORLD TONIGHT!
Congratulations on this wonderful video. Just subscribed.
Such great videos brother and I love the commercials in between segments truly original and so creative keep up the great work!!!!!!!
So much history and beautiful behind the ride!
The current management's tone-deaf focus on movie franchises is ruining Walt's vision. It's not about slogging films, it's about inventive and fanciful escapism, not merchandising everything to death.
Adding Ariel, Nemo, Woody et al to IASM completly destroys the concept and entire point of the attraction: world peace through our children.
Was searching way too long for this comment
Love getting on this on a hot day
Love the Small World scenes in Tomorrowland
small world is in fantasyland at all parks...
Was referring to the film, Tomorrowland
7:44 I remember that commercial. I had it on one of my Disney VHSs as a kid. Don't remember which one.
11:27 One could say that it’s a very moving attraction.
Nice one. Good collection of historic footage.
Im up at 3:05 am because I'M LEAVING FOR DISNEY MIDNIGHT FRIDAY NIGHT AND I'M TOO EXCITED TO SLEEP!!!!!!
It's distressing how Marty Sklar became such a traitor to Walt's vision.
I’m going to Disney Land in 69 days for Christmas!!!
Yay!!!!
i looove mary blair
Having watched a video of the ride, I believe that the additions to the original ride actually are done very respectfully and do add something.
Yasss!
I must be weird, I liked the added Disney characters.
L Vincent Abbott I remember hearing about that change from a Disney magazine my family was subscribed to. It didn’t bother me then, it doesn’t bother me now. (Though I would like to see them incorporate Miguel into the Mèxico scene)
Can you make a video about the history of California Screamin’ since it’s gonna be remodeled as the Incredicoaster

I remember seeing videos of the disney character change in Disneyland years go. I thought the change was adorable. Its fun to see and give little ones to what disney characters are from. And even Tokyo Disney did their recent refurb in their version its so cute! :D I wonder where Florida will have the change? who knows. Then again I enjoy Florida's version too.
