I like the blue color conversion. I would stitch just to the bottom sash and see how it looks. You might want to go ahead and put the bottom one on there.
For the mermaid, I like the cloth with the blue on top. I think it has more blue when you flipped it over. I liked that.
Grands are growing way too fast. I always wished I could freeze frame mine but I realized how great every stage of their life was fun, interesting, and adventurous. My oldest grand is 29...where did that time go?

Love the finishes. I would do a glass toss on the fabric using the floss colors from the bottom to see which part of the materials makes them pop more, then stitch it that way.
I raised 2 boys, the fun never stops. Even when they are grown.

I love your videos. I purchased a piece of Higher Ground fabric from Grace Notes Fabrics too but hadn’t thought about putting a Mermaid on it but I will now and do Mediterranean Mermaid also. Love your idea.

I prefer the fabric the same way as you with the blue at the top - it just looks ‘right’ to me but I’m not sure why! And the first side with more blue.
