"Not just a friend...A partner " followed by the hand shake, love it every time.
This is how partnerships are born, and over time it turns into a friendship. Batman 🦇 & Robin 🐦⬛ are like Mac "n" cheese 🧀, peanut 🥜 butter 🧈 and jelly 🥫
Dick became Batmans " partner"
A brightly colored decoy.
Until Batman and Robin, because Robin isn't happy being under the shadows of Batman 😅😅😅
Batman giving the thumbs up to Gordon is literally the best thing in this movie.
Two words: NICOLE. KIDMAN.
its like ICE MAN leveled up x100
“ I have a need....”
“... the need for speed!!!”
“... the need for speed!!!”
a little cheesy maybe but Gordon sure is happy he doesn't have to do any work himself .
haha, yesterday I was having this conversation with my wife about how cool they ridiculed Gordon on Lego Batman, and I was just telling her about this scene and Gordon being all sad because Batman was not showing up, must say, even then I find it cheesy today, a while ago when I was a kid it gave me the chills
No matter how corny these movies are, I still get chills seeing the BatWing and BatBoat making their way to The Riddler's island, both faces of Batman and Robin saying, "let's kick some ass" both looks of determination and both being on the same page for the first time, u can't deny how awesome that moment is.
That is one of the reasons it makes this movie so great
I know right! Same!
Agreed! The music just helps this further
Oh yeah
It is. This isn’t a bad Batman movie it’s just a Batman movie of it’s time. It came out In 1995 lol
RIP Pat Hingle 1924-2009.
Wish they would show(ed) him more respect. He was around since the beginning. Damn shame. Props to u tho. HFD! 🙏
he played a great James Gordon
And Michael Gough (1916-2011)
Also Joel Schumacher (1939-2020)
Sad that Gordon's role got reduced to cheerleader in the Schumacher films
Got to admit, Batman accepting Robin as his partner here was pretty epic.

Robin: "Not just a friend..."
Batman: "...A partner."
Alfred: "And a nice set of bat-sandwiches for the road"
@Nguyễn Hải Dương your head must be in the gutter, the riddler would not even bother knowing your secrets.
See Batman was more liking and understanding as a DC hero back then unlike how he is today being such a BATDICK!
Gay
Alfred: "...a sexual partner... Ok no"
Commissioner Gordon shook the cops hand and was like “I did my job”
"Now that Batman is saving the world as usual, I can go and touch my wife's beard all night long".
In the 60s serial, Gordon used to dial the bat-phone for every single police emergency and nod at Chief O Hara that their job is done
In reality he doesn't do shit

Lol just had me cracking up reading this
The scene when Batman comes bursting through the clouds gives me chills every time.
Awesome feeling like hope is alive again
Its amazing, very emotional!
@@SilverRanger78 right. This movie gets a bad rep simply because it was too light hearted and comedic. But it has its ups and downs.
A pretty underrated scene and Batwing. It only gets a bad rep because of the movie it's in
Same gets me hype every time 🔥
A man's got to go his own way -- That line was simple, but so epic. It showed you basically that at this point, it's up to Robin to do what he has to do. It showed Bruce taking a step back and understanding he can't control him. To me this was the most epic line delivered in this movie, and then the friend to partner line was just enough. As a friend, a partner, you need to lend support and sometimes just hope they make the right choice.
All that is really how Batman should still be today.
Yeah. There's a reason why, despite Grayson leaving Batman in most stories, Batman still considers Grayson like a son to him.
Yep. And we saw too how Dick seemed to feel SOME relief when he saw Harvey die, but not the kind of joy you'd think he'd feel to get justice for what he did to his family. Just the fact he felt nothing good from it.

Batman forever is one of my favorite Batman movies. There, I said it.
Yea it’s pretty underrated. The only thing stopping it is its original 2 hours and 40 min runtime with darker scenes and a more complex subplot involving Bruce Wayne (the red book). If you are interested in a fan edit made by me and another youtuber that tried to restore this version I can send you the link
Gabe Selden yeah send it. Thanks.
T Taylor what do you mean?
T Taylor the dark knights overrated. Bale is a killer Batman like all the rest. And he can’t even fight. And his suit has too many plates.
This is one of MY favorites too!😁
THIS movie should have been called "Batman & Robin"
Max Isola Yeah! And Batman and Robin Should Be Called Batman And Robin AND Batgirl.
“Batman Forever” is like saying “Batman Only!!” but Batman is not alone when there’s Robin and “Batman and Robin" is like saying that “In this movie there will only be Batman and Robin!” But then Batgirl shows up... Even the titles of these movies make no sense...
This movie should have been called "That Batman's Ass... Forever".
Not really. Batman forever fits the title. Remember, Batman tried to quit and starts going again. Forever and on.
And then the next one would be “Batman 4 ever”
And it should have STOPPED with this one until 2005
Rest in peace Schumacher 1939-2020
Elliot Goldenthal's score is supremely underrated. It's not Elfman but he managed to bring his own batman vibes to the table and give something unique and epic.
And to think the vast majority of it is just recycled from his Alien 3 score.
@@ravensthatflywiththenightm7319 What?! I didn't know that, so freaking cool!

@black panther and a sorry ass Deathstroke battle!
The batmobile was awesome idc what anyone says
@@anthonyy9483 To my taste, the Batmobile in this movie was by far the most RIDICULOUS machine in this movie. It reminds me of those rubber sandals that little children wear in the summer 370 × 394 (if the link works) but in black, with lightened wheels, ailerons and a barbecue flame thrower to the back (what a piece of s*** of a flame, by the way; just compare it with the 1989 Batmobile, or the after-burner of a jet fighter at full throttle, and you'll see what I mean...).
People give this film so much crap and hate but tend to forget this is a million times better than the catastrophic sequel that is Batman And Robin. Forever is criminally underrated
Ik it's pretty campy and silly (not as much as B&R)but there's still a good story in here too, I'll always have a soft spot for it

Val gets no love. Best batman voice and he is the best serious Bruce Wayne like when bruce is himself not as the playboy billioniare persona. You give Val all the deleted scenes that the STUDIO cut from this flick and I am telling you people would remember it very differently. You edit this puppy differently and throw in the deleted scenes amd this film would be remembered and respected on the same level as the first one from 1989. I know for people who havent seen the deleted scenes think I sound like an idiot but watch and then come at me.
I agree with you val got a lot of hate not much as Clooney years ago. But people are starting to realize how good he was as Batman and Bruce Wayne. He has the best Batman voice and he is the most believable Bruce wayne. Yea I like Keaton better but it's the truth. I'm so glad to see Kilmer getting the respect he deserves now. I been seeming people comment on how he has the best Batman voice. This to me is the best movie after Batman and Batman returns. Val is better then Clooney, bale, and affleck to me. I love this movie it's a good film, but it would have been tons better with the deleted scenes added in. And I do belive Batman and robin would have been a tad better with him in it.
Randall Reiter Im glad he wasn't apart of Batman and Robin, he is better than that
Val is a great actor, it is just the script and direction he was given was garbage.
It would have been great to see Val Kilmer return in Batman and Robin had the script been better. If I recall he was fired since he and Joel Schumacher didn’t really get along during filming forever.
He has an open mouth stare the entire movie. You can't un-see it now. Have fun!
To me, Batman flying through the bat signal is by far one of the coolest things in all the batman movies.
As much as I love the real life esque versions of the Batwing, this one and the Kilmermobile hold a special place in my heart, particularly for how comic book-y the Batwing looks.

Riddler To Two-Face:
You sunk my Battleship. LOL!!
Who, me?! 😂😂
This is the movie that first introduced me to Batman as a kid. Then, I watched the animated series. This is one of my favourite scenes in the movie.
When I grew up with my brother, he was always my Robin. Eventually he got tired of living that life and moved on to something better, I was truly heartbroken that he didn't need me anymore. Then my nephew was born, and I realised that he knew how much I missed him and he provided me with a new Robin and a new partner.

@@stevenhibbert9882 that's a good one 😂👌
3:15 everytime I play GTA 5
Val Kilmer probably did the best Bruce Wayne. Michael Keaton was a recluse, Christian Bale was a playboy. Kilmer was a businessman who was good to Gotham and even told his assistant to pay full benefits to the family of the guy the riddler shoved out the window despite her telling him suicide isn't covered by his insurance. Anyone who has read the comics know that's what Bruce Wayne is like. He's not like the other two. I do think this film is underrated
Keaton and Bale showed Bruce around the start where they were dealing with trauma by either hiding away or partying
Kilmer I believe was a continuation of Keaton so by that time he still has the trauma but has it somewhat handled
2:29 That Boat though… WHOO!!! Lol
Jim Carrey Was A Great Riddler!
The Robin suit in this movie isn't that bad. Just get rid of the nipples and that massive cup, and it's a cool design. It's clearly based off of Tim Drake's original design, but it has the neck of the cape zipped down to make it look like a collar, referencing Dick Grayson's suit.

I freaking love the sonar Batsuit. It's my favorite Live-Action Batsuit ever. I also love the movie Batman Forever itself. I think it's very underrated
The Batboat is still pretty sweet looking.
You know something weird? I just realized the reason I never questioned how weird this movie was until I got older is because Eugene, Oregon, the place I grew up, heavily resembled Joel Schumacher's Gotham in the nineties.
Dark, rainy, lots of glass and metal, absolutely drenched in neon, and full of coked out weirdos.
I love how the goons are giggling even underwater at 3:48
"What do you suggest Alfred. By sea.. or by air..?"
Why not both?
this scene gives me chills it's so good.
One of the best scenes in the entire movie. The scene between Bruce and Dick becoming partners and revealing their suits are great. We also get some cool looks for The Batwing and Batboat. My gosh, I have become a fan of Batman Forever... This scene right here is where you see all the great potential this movie truly has and I love it
This movie actually was genuinely pretty good. Nowhere near as bad as people seem to think it is. Sure, it was campier than the Burton ones that came before it. But it was Batman & Robin (1997) that was the stand-out one as being corny and bad. But even though I saw them originally, I can appreciate them for what they are and the time period they were released in. They both have their epic moments in each movie, though.
I'm sorry the batwing hanging upside down is FUCKING BAD ASS
RIP JOEL SCHUMACHER
2:11 - I love this scene

What kind of partner? Like sexual?
The only thing I never really understood is, aside from his fight with Two Face, Robin didn't really do anything except get himself blown up or kidnapped. You'd think they'd give him a decent fight scene after building him up like that.
Ya. I mean say what you will about Batman and Robin but at least he had a few more fight scenes there.
Shanethefilmmaker well he had the fight scene with the rave goons and pretty much took them all on
One fight scene in civilian gear does not count as a Robin fight, it counts as a Dick fight.
The kid is learning the basics. He'll have the chance to fight a crazy plant girl and an austrian ice cream.
Yeah I never understood why we had this incredibly epic revelation scene and ended up getting virtually no pay off. Although I guess if we want to get technical Robin saved Batman twice during the course of the film (from the rubble and at the circus) while Batman saved Robin twice (from the rave gang and at the end) so I guess it balances out?????? Plus Batman saved Chase and Robin saved that random girl.
I remember I was really young Batman and Robin working together was my favorite Robin was of the reason why I like Batman so much
I love how Riddler and Two Face somehow managed to to build a gigantic lair in such a short period of time

Batman forever was ok, it wasn't that bad. Better than batman and robin and justice league

@@benjaminmartin2 Thats true but I liked that movie more than most people did. But at the same time I am super excited for the Snyder Cut!!!!
Dud really, justice league was better than Batman forever bro
The scene where these two set off and gordon cheers, always gets me emotional. Music helps it so much,. Into danger they head!
Best thing apart from Gordon's cheer and the music is the signal turning back to white after Batman bursts through it.
For someone determined to offer him help, Robin became more of a hindrance to batman than help hehe. In this sequence alone, it was his first chance to prove he can handle himself only to be caught off guard and nearly gets drowned so easily by riddler's diver goons. Quite adorable that he keeps trying though ☺
Can we just take the time to appreciate Bruce’s willingness to forget the no killing code for a friend and partner
"Partner" lol
2:23 - Well my work's done
That version suit of this Robin actor who worn is a little better than other version I wish they should have another version as that
This movie wasn't horrible it was workable. Val and Chris did a very good job and so did Jim and Tommy Lee. It was just some of the character choices that didn't land properly.
Harper Craven They did their own thing with the characters it did land well the movie is very well done.
honestly Billy D Williams should have been two-face
April Fools isn’t here yet bud
Harper Craven I think Jim Carrey AND Tommy Lee needed to tone it down a bit as the villains (especially Tommy Lee). It’s like they were both trying to play the Joker for some reason. It would have been a better movie if Tommy Lee was a more serious Two-Face and if we got to see him as Harvey Dent BEFORE he transformed a little bit so we could understand his hate for Batman and his motivations.
Jim Carrey did pretty good at playing a nut job who hated Bruce Wayne and wanted revenge for him being fired, but again he just was a little too much over the top like he was trying to play Ace Ventura instead of the Riddler.

Robin is allowed to be a partner and he immediately crashes the boat, gets captured, gets separated, then gets captured again. Literally everything he does on this mission just makes things more difficult for Batman.

Chris Aldridge so I’m guessing you liked how he acted like he was always out of breath and hyperventilating? Lol. He was ok. But, like the other commenter said above... he is the only live action robin except the 60’s TV show Robin (Burt Ward) and you can’t really compare the two.
Let’s see how the guy who is playing Robin in that new show Titans that will be on the DC Streaming Service (supposed to be a streaming service like Netflix but purely for DC fans with only DC Comics related content). There will also likely be a Nightwing, Batgirl AND a Robin not only in the new Batman trilogy directed by Matt Reeves (directed Cloverfield, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes & War For The Planet Of The Apes).
