I'm a fan of all three Topper movies! The whole cast is so funny, especially Eddie Rochester! Eddie is like, oh no..footprints in the snow! Forget that! I'm getting out, like NOW! LOL! ...I love seeing the movie in color because you get to see Carole and Joan's outfits, the furniture, the chandeliers everything!
I love these old Topper movies. Roland Young was so good at acting body movements as though someone were manipulating him. The drunk scene in the original Topper was so good. Thank you for posting!
Excellent Special effects for the ghosts. "Eddie Rochester" played his usual wonderful bit part as a comedian negro afraid of anything supernatural. This has nothing to do with real life and everything to do with with expectations about how others might perceive it. I love this rendition of this!
It sad to think Carol Landis took her own life at the age of 29. even back then the pressure of trying to make it in Hollywood was insurmountable? On the lighter side.... I loved it when Joan Blondell said to Dennis O'keefe "What am I... an Orphan!!
I love ❤️ Rochesters voice. I could listen to him talk all day. He was with Jack Benny. I love the one where the thief demands of Jack, your life. Jack hesitates and the thieve tells Jack that he’s waiting and Jack replies, I’m thinking 🤔. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I love this movie sooo much. I grew up watching this - except never from the start cos it wasn't recorded from the beginning on VHS. I still watch this as much as possible, can quote the whole thing back to front, and still laugh my heart out to it all. It also looks such fun in colour.
I’m partial to Sonja Henie films (Norwegian ice skater who won Gold medals in 3 consecutive Olympic Games then came to the US to make films- Always had skating numbers in them) and have the DVD of WINTERTIME (1943) in which Carol Landis co-starred with Sonja and the Fantastic Cesar Romero as his singing partner and wannabe love interest. She was wonderful and did her own singing. It’s a Great film and well worth watching . B & W.
amazing movie. it was made the year of my fathers birth. thats crazy to me. the girl playing the ghost looks so much like my grandma and amazingly had the same style of hair and dress. my they all rest with the angels. including my sweet dad who fought in vietnam.
That was a fun movie! Loved the chauffeur! I'd never seen an early flick with Joan Blondell. Very attractive young woman. The actress who played Mrs Topper sounded very much like the same actress who played the good witch of the North in wizard of Oz. Does anyone know if it was her?
I saw Patsy Kelly in person on stage in "No, No, Nanette" in New York in 1971. Still playing a maid, she was a delight! I still have the program from that performance. I wrote on it, back then, "46th Street Theatre, July 7, 1971."
I’m sorry but I can’t understand why some of you are thankful for the colour when it’s so very ‘off point”! It seems to be so muddy in places However, I am enjoying this slightly strange but intriguing film/movie sooo, thanks 😍
I think of those advertisements for something that has a cute little black boy shyly digging his toe in the dirt and saying Yasair I likes watermelon 🍉 It was cute but now that I look back and think about it, I think how the black people must have felt about it. I wonder how many of them thought it was as cute as we did? 🤔🤔🤔😢😢😢
Loved the cars, the shape of the phones and the fur coats of the old days. People sure are silly letting a bunch of vegans tell them not to wear leather or fur. All that garbage to push their vegan agenda. Enjoy this great old movie. Thank you for sharing. God bless.
Everything back then was awesome. Cars with incredible style, gorgeous women who did not need fake boobs, and no need for vulgar language. The woke agenda is destroying society.
People painstakingly restore old movies, and now we have a bunch of idiots ruining them with this awful colourizing process and bragging about it as well - only thing to do is to watch it with the colour turned OFF.
My grandfather loved Mr. Eddie Rochester. I wasn’t aware of these films, but so glad I found them. 😊

I completely agree ! x
I love Billie Burke in the films.
Yes! I'm a Billie Burke fan for sure! 😊
When “Rochester” and the seal. I cried. Hilarious
Thanks for the colorized upload! If Eddie Rochester did win an oscar, it probably came with 'It's A Mad, Mad World'...

Love this in b&w. Thanks for uploading colour version.
One of the few times a sequel was better than the original.
This is actually the trilogy or threequel
@@dylantyt6654 The second movie was the funniest.
@@kenowens9021 By far!
That's because the writers on this sequel were so good.
❤ image a driver wearing a fur coat!!!! Love topper climbing up into a window of a spooky house wow.
the best was that he slept in that fur lol !!
Lol. When Eddy said he was going back to work for Mr. Benny.
Does anyone remember the Jack Benny show with his personal butler named Rochester?
Don Wilson was the announcer 😊
Yes. I'm 39.
@@marypatten9655
Still?! 😁
😅😂🤣@@alexadam353
I do!
❤ love this movie!!!! Totally spectacular and spooky 👻. Great actors. Her friend helps her after she dies. Lots of comedy. Love the color.😂😂😂😂😂😂
Did Eddie ever get an Oscar? He deserves one!!!
Cute flick. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing! I’ve never seen this in color before. It gives a different feel to it.
"Mr. Taaah" Eddie Rochester is hysterical.
He's actually shouting "Mr
Topper!"
Hal Roach studio’s fantastic 😊Thanks for the color version, funny movie 😂

Great film, thanks!
~ Always liked Joan Blondell a Lot, my favorite second lead/B film actress of the time 👌
This is the first and only film Ive seen with Carole Landis, the blonde actress co-starring in this movie.
Great Film
This version is better than the B & W version. Top Stuff!
SHADOW WORK, LOVING THE VISUALS😊

LOVELY 💚🙏😇🙏💚
Love love love ❤️ 😂😂😂😂😂
Everybody has forgotten patsy kelly in the role of the maid in. Topper house she was a very funny lady
She was great in The Gorilla with the Ritz Brothers. She had a bigger role in that movie.

😂YOU TO YOUNG TO UNDERSTAND!!! LOL. LOL
6:51 That looks like the staircase from _Gone With The Wind._

I love this man,. I would love to spend some hours just talking with him.
Old spice krakengard ?that's my style at 58
Funniest movie!
Notice when the victim is murdered, there is no blood.
Elaine Evan's remember it is Hollywood, not real life.
The Hayes code was in full effect at this point. Blood was absolutely not allowed on screen.
@Elaineerulesutube That is 40s Hollywood.
Back in the day they did not need to excite the blood lust of the audiance to make a great show.
I don't quite think this is "film noir" as indicated above with the #. Do you agree, Eddie Muller? A competent comedy-mystery is more like it.
me alos❤❤
Horribly distracting color flickering and shifting, you're better off watching the original B&W.
1:04:13 This is the funniest line in the entire movie.
WHAAATT ????
A pox on those who traffic in "colorized" movies.
Some of it was dumb- miss carrington fainting - silly
43:25 Oh, so now the phone is working?
People painstakingly restore old movies, and now we have a bunch of idiots ruining them with this awful colourizing process and bragging about it as well - only thing to do is to watch it with the colour turned OFF.
Colourized movies i have glimpsed at for the most part suffer from the same flaw, the colour on people;s faces is very bad.
IT WAS AS COOL AS SLICE BREAD!!!! LOL
Couldn't watch due to the bad and fluctuating colorization. It was making me dizzy.
GOOD!!!!!

Carole Landis was so beautiful.
LV IT, merci' !
